Another wonderful night at work. I spent the first 45 minutes or so dealing with guests (always fun), and then step in the back to check the laundry. And there is a s*$@load. Both dryers full. Washer full. Three bins full of sorted laundry, but no indication as to whether or not they are clean, so I have to assume not and wash them anyways. A 7' mound of unsorted laundry. And absolute f&@%ing proof that no one touched it all day. One of our dryers, the good one, has a digital display. One of the features of the display is that, when it finishes a load it starts a clock showing how long it has been since that load finished. It keeps counting until you either press the "Stop" button or open the door. I saw it at 11:45 pm, and it said it had been done for 17 hours and 40 minutes. That means it finished at around 6:00 am. So no one touched it all day, and there is no way that you would use the old dryer instead of the good one. (The good one is easier to load and dries about 25% faster than the old one. We hardly ever use the old one.) There is no way I will be able to finish all of this, and even though I will do my very best, there is a chance that I will get a snarky text from the manager asking why I didn't do my job and get the laundry done. I took pictures of everything, though, so if he does get snippy, I'll shove them down his (metaphorical) throat. He already pissed me off on Friday morning when he sent me a text with pictures of two laundry bins and asked if they were clean or not. I replied "I have no way of knowing. I didn't work last night." He just said "oh."

Think I've got as much of the laundry done as I am going to. Penultimate load of sheets is in the dryer. Final load of sheets in the wash. Didn't touch the towels. There is one full bin of assorted terrycloth, and a second one that is mounded about 18" over the top. It's better than I thought I would do when I saw how much there was.

Another night of laundry. Been working on it for two and half hours, and finally got caught up. 2nd shift washed and dried a lot of it, but decided it wasn't his responsibility to fold it. So I've been folding all of his laundry, while washing and drying the rest. I have one load in the dryer, one in the washer, and one more to go after that.

I liked it. It was unique.

Plus, as stupid as people are, someone will almost certainly get killed in the fire, meaning I would be charged with manslaughter as well.
Yeah, if you could avoid that...
But I'm pretty sure the old drier can be rigged to start a fire, depending on how old it is and how inefficient its with heat.

For crying out loud. Came in tonight, 2nd shift said "Quiet, easy day. Hardly saw a soul. Nothing to report." So I'm thinking he must have gotten a lot of laundry done, then. Maybe even all of it. Nope. The opposite. He hadn't done a single load. No one had all day. I know because the last thing I did this morning was rags, and the washer was still set to do rags, but clearly no one had done any. Thankfully, they hadn't cleaned too many rooms today, so there is less to do then either of the last two days, but since none of it had even been started, it's going to be almost an hour before I can even start folding anything. And none of the stuff I did last night was moved, so I don't know where I'm going to put all of it.

Yeah when we started getting busy again we were only able to clean about half our rooms so we just sold the ones we had. now they are frantically trying to keep them all clean because we can probably sell them all if they are available. I think we've already gone through 3 house keepers within 2 weeks. This is a bad time to work at a hotel IMO. You know assuming their is a good time.

Also, there is note here at the desk that I find hard to believe. I'm not saying it isn't true, it's just so unbelievable. It says that one of the local hotels was scammed, and it is so strange. Here are the basics.
Guy calls hotel at 2 in the morning, claims to be with "corporate" and "OSHA". Says he has spoken the the manager (gives her name as proof), and tells the clerk that they are scheduled for an inspection the next day. The GM had sent in a check to pay for it, but didn't sign it. He then convinced the clerk to get into the manager's office, search around until they found a company credit card, and give him all the info on it. Also, somehow, he apparently convinced the clerk to give him her personal card details, and took $400 from her. According to the note, he kept the clerk on the phone for 3 hours.
I want to know 2 things: a) Just how convincing was the guy on the phone, and b) Just how f~$*ing gullible is that clerk? Because that is some Grade AAA+++ stupidity right there.

Everything else aside keeping me on the phone for 3 hours would take an act of god. dude was clearly using some sort of super power.
