lol. yeah I play it a bit and quit for a bit in a cycle. I was currently in a lull period but a D&D theme Magic set is interesting if they do ok on it.

Honestly I'm surprised they waited this long to do one. I know they did MtG sourcebooks for DnD. Well, one at least. But I can see you're excited for this.

Now put some pants on.

My brother mentioned something about there might be some 40k themed MtG cards next year. I might be interested in seeing what they're like, but I probably won't buy any unless they are really cool.

40K themed>?? wow. that's crazy. I remember the Godzilla themed and I almost bout some because of that but I was actually disappointed in how they did Godzilla.

All I know is my brother texted me a couple weeks back that "next year-ish there will be a Warhammer 40k commander product for MtG". I have done no research, not even a simple googling, but that's what he said.

Whew been feeling so busy lately

Could be worse. At least we don't work at Hilbert's Hotel.

It's an interesting concept, I just wish he had found a way to explain it without using one that makes me scared. An infinite hotel full of infinite infinite guests? Kill me.

I think the person who made this underestimated how obstinate guests are. I'm going to end up with infinite guests calling me and complaining. I better be getting infinite pay.

Give me infinite pay for 1 millisecond, and I'll quit. Pretty sure I can retire on $inifinity*.001.

sounds good to me. I do feel somehow that the millisecond would somehow be very exhausting.

Just unplug the phone.

do what 1st shift used to do and turn the ringer all the way down.

Ignore it. You're only there for a millisecond anyways.

barely enough time to pick up the phone really.

Hell, barely enough time to clock in and then back out.

that's the kind of job I need.

The best job would be no job. Assuming you don't need the money.

see now their is the problem.

My brother threw a little get together. I have been gradually buying him Hot ones hot sauces over the last 2 years because he is a big fan and tonight was the night he broke them out. It was all fun and games before "The bomb" It is what I imagine Battery acid tastes like and it coats your tongue in pure pain.

Did it contain Guatemalan Insanity Peppers?

Did not. one did have "pepper X" and the other "Apollo."

I'm sad that no one else is also into MTG on the forum. They spoiled Tarrasque green 9 costs 10/10 haste (ward 10) always attacks defending players defenders. nom. They also have the eye and hand of vecna as well as a way to summon Vecna himself.

-Civil War, Civil War
-Desert, Fortune Favors The Brave
-Iced Earth, The Glorious Burden
-Forlorn Hope, To The Bitter End
-Sir Christopher Lee, Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death

List of bands I found to check out later. this was a convenient place to put them.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Cruxshadows, Ethernaut album. Goth band, album is inspired by the Trojan War as seen from the Trojan side.

I do like Cruxshadow. saw them live once. good show.

I sorta met them once. I checked them into the hotel I was working at back then. They seemed nice, but very tired. It was like 3:30 and they had done a show that night. The lead singer's hair was still kinda in his signature spikes, but they were very droopy. The maintenance guy said they were "Strange looking, but very polite".

That really sums up most goths. Honestly not the worst fashion trend I've seen either. who doesn't look good in black really?

Johnny Cash sure did. Which raises the question, was he a country goth?

Johnny Cash started country goth and you won't convince me otherwise.

He did hurt himself that day, to see if he still feels. That's kind of a goth thing to do, right? Or is it more emo?

Eh, potato, tomato.

He did have a full goth vibe. Argued with his parents a lot too.

I think arguing with your parents is just a teenager thing, not necessarily a goth thing.

You know, we could ask NobodysHome to check with his wife. She's a goth, she might know more about The Man in Black's gothhood.

I dated a nice goth girl once but never thought to ask her about Johnny Cash.

That's probably why she dumped you. You didn't take an interest in the history of her chosen subculture. You insensitive bastard.

... i.. wha... ok.

I played magic in highschool but it was just too expensive a hobby

That is fair.

I quit playing Magic in order to get into a much cheaper game: Warhammer 40k.

(Note: Sarcasm)

I didn't even know you were into 40k? (also yes Sarcasm noted.)

I was, years ago. Haven't played in probably 7 or 8 years, and haven't bought anything in about 11 or 12. Still have all my stuff though, including several years worth of White Dwarf magazine when I was subscribed to it.

I tried to get into it awhile back but the game store I was playing at closed. I still have some tau figures that I painted. I've also read alot of the horus heresy. oh and played that one RTS 40k game.

I have Blood Angel Space Marines, Eldar, and a small Imperial Guard army. I read a lot of the novels, love the Gaunt's Ghosts books. Had Dawn of War and a few expansions for the PC. Played the Dark Heresy RPG. My brother had the Fire Warrior game for the PS2, but it's a FPS and I don't really like those. I've thought about trying to get back into it, at least a little, but don't really want to spend the time and money to update to the new rules.

I have occasionally thought about picking up a few of the new models. They look pretty cool, but if I'm not going to play the game then it seems like a complete waste of money.

Oh yeah I forgot but I did play the dark heresy once as a ultra marine and once as a chaos space marine. felt real op. I watch someone play fire warrior. honestly they could of done way better. only way I would get more models is if I had people to play with. I do need to catch up on the books tho.

There are no rules for space marines in Dark Heresy. It is humans only, relatively low powered. The next game, Rogue Trader, was higher power, and then the third game, Deathwatch, was high power and included space marines. I've only played Dark Heresy.

Oh ok I thought Dark Heresy and Deathwatch where just different parts of the same game.

You'd kind of expect a Space Marine RPG to be OP, to be fair...

yes. it was half the fun really. I remember once of the first things we encountered was like 500 cultists to use 5 space marines. 200 and they were a joke. They just exploded in all directions.

I believe all 3 used the same system, but they are intended for telling different stories and at different power levels. I'm not 100% on this, but I think a max level Dark Heresy character is equivalent to a level 2 or so Rogue Trader character. And max Rogue Trader is about like low level Deathwatch.

Exploding things is what boltguns do.
