Going back to the potato/tomato thing, very briefly. At some point in recent history, the two plants were spliced together to make pomatoes. However, both potatoes and tomatoes are part of the nightshade family so, pomatoes turned out to be highly poisonous.

...huh... fun. they should of went to tomtatos

The Exchange

I just did a night run from 6.20pm to 4 am ish. Total distance covered -73.3km. Yes, it's ultra marathon territory.

I am back!

Also Gratz Mort.

...and let me splice this on
Tree of 40 Fruits

Magical.

Interesting a few major websites are down atm.

I haven't noticed. Which ones?

They seem to have cleared up now but it was Quora, reddit, twitch, Amazon. possibly others.

Oh, yeah I wouldn't have noticed those being down.

whew glad i only had 3 days after vacation. I need some more recovery time. swapping to day for 5 days during vacation then going back it rough.

whew. Amazing how much a few days of being off schedule can mess me up.

Yeah, that's one reason I don't look forward to going back to work tonight.

Feeling a bit better today. slept a full 8

Yay for sleep.

It is a precious commodity.

Sundays are so much better then Saturdays.

I agree.

♫Every day is like Sunday...♫

I wish.

Well I'm ready for some changes. I'm hoping we find a good place to move too soon.

we have a little speaker system that we barely use that when you turn it on it emits a low hum. I am considering trolling 1st shift who is late all the time by turning it on every time I leave late. I guarantee they won't notice it. what alignment is this act?

Lawful Good.

even if i'm banking on it slowly driving them mad on a subconscious level?

Sleep is so good.

so how is everyone?

Warm, and happy I did not get run over by the bin lorry/garbage truck.

Not getting hit by a truck is always a nice start to a day.

Ben Lorre drives a garbage truck? Is he related to Peter Lorre?

Pissed off with the manager. He left a big note at the desk today saying how a lot of things aren't getting done, and that we need to do better. And 80% of what's on the list are things that front desk shouldn't be having to do anyways. Like laundry (there should be a laundry person). Or cleaning after the breakfast and prepping for the next day (there should be a breakfast host). Or emptying the outside trash bins (has always been maintenance's job, but the new guy doesn't want to do it). Or vacuuming/mopping the hallways (should be housekeeping). But he's putting all of that on the desk staff, and getting mad because the three desk clerks a day can't do the work of 5 people. Or at least can't do it well. And of course, when he has to work a shift, he doesn't do any of it.

The manager must not be aware that workers are quitting in record numbers. Hiring market is wide open right now. I wonder how well those things will get done when he has noone but him there.

F@+%ING B%++#%++!! Got to the end of Slay the Spire on Ascension 20 with Defect, and the first of the two bosses was the prick you have to kill twice. Barely survived that, had 4 hp left. Then Deca and Donu show up and kill me turn 1. I'm so mad right now.

that sucks I haven't played slay the spire in awhile have a new one to kill time with. It's called Darkest Dungeon.

been doing the replay of FF-X. I had forgot how much of a grind the end game stuff is.

I think I started playing that one. Didn't get very far, only maybe an hour or so in.

yeah like the end game stuff takes like twice as long as the story. easily. unlocking the best weapons is a serious grind.

I don't remember much about it. I think I didn't like the gameplay, so I put it down and never tried it again.

Hmm are you like that with all the final fantasy games?

I liked the original, don't think I ever beat it. Loved 2 and 3 (as they were labeled for the SNES, I think the "proper" numbering would be 4 and 6?). I really liked 7, but never finished it because I had it for the PC, and every time I got close to the end, something would happen and I would lose my save (one time the computer wouldn't boot and when we sent it in for warranty repair they erased the hard drive, another time my roommate's friend decided he wanted to play it and overwrote my save file-he didn't even ask me if he could play it, and then something happened-I don't remember what-but most of the data on the hard drive got corrupted and lost). Other than that hour or so of 10, I haven't played the others.

3 was definitely my favorite.

And as I hit "Submit Post" I remembered that I had Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the SNES too. I thought it was okay, but didn't care for it that much. I had a friend who loved to watch me play 2 and 3, but didn't want to play them himself because he thought they were too difficult, but he loved Mystic Quest, so I sold it to him.

Hmm I wonder what about the combat you didn't like. It was typical turn based only major difference was that you swap out characters often which I actually like that aspect of it.

I don't know. Like I said, I only played for a little bit, and that was many many years ago.

As a reference, the game came out in 2001. I got it used for about $5 at a Blockbuster when I lived in Florida, which would have been '04 or '05.

Yeah I hadn't played it since it came out to but I for sure beat it. TBF FFx-2 had a much better combat system. Best game about "dress up" ever.

I might have played more FF games, but I never had any of the Playstations.

A lot of them are on X-box now. remastered even.

Time for some days off after tonight woooo!

Anyone around that plays MTG? I was checking out spoilers for the forgotten realms set they have coming out. some are good some I could of done better...

I use to play back in the days of 4th edition, Ice Age, and Mirage. I didn't really like Mirage, and I and the friends I played with were getting kind of tired of Magic, so we pretty much stopped by 5th edition's release. My brother tried to get me into it during Return to Ravnica, and I did buy a few dozen packs, but I never really got back into it fully. I liked playing the game, but didn't always like the other players. Like my brother, for instance, who would brag about how much his cards cost before playing them. Like he would chuckle and go "Oooohhhhh. You're gonna hate this card. It cost me $30.", or "I had to trade $50 worth of rares for this one!". And I'm like "I don't care, just play the damn card. Congratulations on having more money to spend on cards than an unemployed high schooler."
