I did an impromptu 1.6km run round trip to cover distance between places so I could get to thermal Valley and hot spring museum in time to take pictures, under an hour to catch the train to the airport.

Thermal valley

Beitou hotspring musuem

I think I would do more running if their was sight like this around me. well maybe not running. or jogging. walking.. yeah walking.

I mean you tell a runner she's running late. What were you expecting? Sure it was uphill partway, but I have done some rudimentary hill training(remember mount faber? I run up during lunch for sh*ts and giggles) so the short distance is fine.

Besides my walk speed is still a joke lol.

I think shorter folk have a definite advantage in long distance stamina but less so on speed. Its basically physics. Also life expectancy is better.

You know I do actually like some people that come into my work. sleep deprived people can be real entertaining.

I still prefer to just be left alone.

Fair especially when I'm deep into a book.

Currently reading "The name of the wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. Been real good so far.

Ascension 13 now completed with Defect.

You are moving right along. I'm split between 4 games so my progress isn't quick. blood stained etc etc long name, minecraft, STS, and one of those auto chess games.

Yeah, I only play StS, and have plenty of time to do so at work.

Hey did you end up liking Otep?

Liking? Yes. Loving? No I think the vocals detract a bit from the rest for me personally.

interesting. kind of the part that grabbed me was Otep Shamaya singing. The thing I don't like about it is that to many of her albums have so much filler. little poems or just dead tracks to tick for minutes. Confrontation is my favorite song by them.

I like the lyrics too. some of my favorites:
"If I'm a danger to myself just think what I could do to you."
" He called be a D@#$ so I called him an ambulance."
"Its a rich man's war But its the poor that fight"

I was worried if the shrimp were bigger and started jumping, the sharp ridge on their heads might poke the roof of my mouth, but they really were too small, so it was just one bite. I promise, it was really quick for those shrimps.

....

You ate live WHAT?!

Live shrimp. Why? Everyone knows I eat next to anything. I've even eaten fried grasshoppers and a scorpion in a lollipop.

mort, those things were dead.

You ate something that was still ALIVE!!!

I think their was a place in new York city that served live lobster that you were expected to eat at the table that way. I don't know if the place is still around.

There's this dish for drunken prawns that involves boiling the prawns in front of you. And there's this dish, yin yang fish where you scald the fish body with hot oil to cook it and eat the fish while the head is still gasping. At least the shrimp had it easy in a sense that it was quick. One bite and its down the gullet.

Oh and here's some cauliflower fried rice.

You bake cauliflower for 20 min then grind it in a food processor. Fry shallots and garlic until brown, add in prawn and cauliflower bits.

Add light soya sauce and salt to taste, then make a well in the centre and pour in the 3 eggs and stir everything

Also, I heard that oysters might be eaten alive

My relief is here. Have a good day, everyone.

Thank you John, have a good night.

So I heard a theory and I wanted some of the female forum visitors to weigh in on it.
Basically the idea is that society tries to condition women to be adversarial to each other. This would be a very subtle way men use to keep another level of power over women, but then their is also a theory that some societies condition all of us to be adversarial to each other regardless of gender. I feel like american society does that. I could see that as intentional on some level.

What do you folk think. I'm thinking it might be very different for Mort for example since she is coming from a collectivist culture.

I made a bad joke at Formula D league tonight. We finished our race, and rolled for the next track. It's going to be Singapore. One of the other players said "Oh, I'll bring Singapore Slings for everyone!" Another player said "What's in a Singapore Sling?" I said "A broken arm."

*Duh Duh Chi*

I liked it. Probably been better had I been their.

It would have been even better had you been there.

Ah but things are always better when I'm around.

*debates making a self-aggrandizing_master7 alias but decides against it* It would be to long of a name...

I'm having to postpone my regularly scheduled game two of my players are getting married so have to go to that instead. I suppose that is a good enough excuse on their part to cancel game.

F!$$ it. Run the game during the reception. Or at least stop the ceremony and refuse to let it continue until one of them rolls a nat 20.

The entire wedding party is hit by a paralyzing fog I need saving throws all around people!

hmm Is it bad that my ideal wedding would be a giant D&D Larp?

Or were you thinking more of the "Epic Journey to Throw the Ring into the Volcano" kind of thing?

I was thinking more medieval reenactment wardrobe with some sword fighting and jousting. Maybe some cool special effects and getting married by a wizard.

So less LARP, more RennFaire.

And could the officiant be dressed as Mr. Wizard? That would be cool.

gran rey de los mono wrote:

Yeah I guess but me and my best man would have to fight a small army of orcs at some point.

gran rey de los mono wrote:

That would in fact be pretty cool. I would also accept Shawn Wallace or peter cook.

Nah, me and my female fitness buddies get along real well, complaining jointly about why our abdominal fat refuses to go away, trying to do pull ups, all those post running yoga stretches and b*tching on why it's so hard for us ladies to have a six pack =)
