Wasn't the playtest supposed to be available for preorder from Paizo today? I still don't see it up on the store. If I can I'd rather support Paizo directly, but I guess if it doesn't go up I can just keep the Amazon preorder I put in a while back as insurance against it selling out.

I believe the date moved to the 27th (according to the Playtest homepage).

If that 11.59pm time is both the start and end points, it might be another twenty three and a half hours away.

The bottom of the page under "Need Help?" says 10am to 5 pm. That's 1pm Eastern, 6pm in the UK and 1900 in mainland Europe, give or take an hour for when day light savings is for each location.

It is a little less than an hour before they open.
And I wouldn't assume that making playtest pre-orders available will be the very first thing they do when they come in. It is not exactly an emergency priority.

It would be nice to at least compare the Paizo price (with shipping) with the Amazon price (.com or .fr, with shipping). Paizo charges an arm and a leg for shipping to Europe, but, hey, it's only money. <g>

You do realize that even if you got your preorder in right now, you still wouldn't see anything until early August (or perhaps mid to late July if they send it with the July subscription shipments), right?

It won't sell out. The whole reason that the pre order ends on May 1st is because they haven't yet determined how many they are going to order,they will be doing that based on preorders on the 2nd of May.

Given the way Amazon handled the Starfinder release, lots of folk with preorders didn't get a book in the first printing. I'm not in any way prepared to trust them with a preorder for a book that if you don't get the first printing you're not getting.
F5 F5 F5 etc.
I'm going to preorder mine directly from Paizo. Mainly for the reason I can pick my preorder(s) up at Gen Con, but also so the chance for mistake/not getting the book(s) is much less as I am getting it directly from them.
Now just waiting for the preorders to open...

Paizo.com is going to be offline from 1.00ish til 1.45ish.
I’m betting the playtest will go live then.

Agreed. It says “preorder below” and the page footer is the only thing there when viewed on my iPad. Since mobile device and computer behaviour for the website are completely different since the site update, I can’t say if it’s not functioning at all, but I’m not switching on my PC for another 20 hours or so.
I foresee more downtime in the near future...

Front page of the site has a massive “PREORDER NOW” banner and a link to a page that says you can “preorder below”, but the only thing below is the page footer. It seems clear it was meant to be live.

When the pre-order page says, "You may place your paizo.com preorder below," it's clear that their intent was for pre-ordering to be available NOW.

Not working for me either.
It looks like they are working on it, but it's not up yet. I see the paragraph that says
All Pathfinder Playtest products will be released as FREE downloads exclusively at paizo.com on August 2, 2018. On the same day, we'll release limited-edition print versions of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook, Pathfinder Playtest Adventure, and Pathfinder Playtest Flip-Mat Multi-Pack for players and Game Masters seeking the ultimate playtest experience.You may place your paizo.com preorder below until May 1 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.
But nothing other than that...nothing. I did see that if I put in www.paizo.com/products/playtest or pathfinderplaytest it brings up the playtest page.
I'd guess that someone is working on it fervently to try to get it updated and working with the rest of the site. Just my guess. The tech team is probably excessively busy right now. Or so I'd think.

It does however seem to be a technical error - There is the clear markers of where to go for the preorder, but no preorder there, which you would expect - it doesn't make sense to take the site down to roll the preorder infrastructure, but not actually put up the preorders...
