Hello all!
It has been boiling in my mind to play a game where our players are plainwalkers( as from magic the gathering), and base the game around the presuit of an envil force attempting to destroy all plains.
Right now I'm in the middle of the concept phase, but this idea really intrigues me! I would most likely have my characters be around lvl 5 to start(having to have ignited their spark previously) and I will also be making a few custom races for certain world's due to them having unique races, Such as the Aetherborn.
I'll most likely use spheres of power instead of the standard magic system, as it fits more fluidly into how magic and Mana works. And for the system that makes you a plainwalker I'll most likely use a modified Mythic system. Add new traits and a special thing called "Plainswalking"
And as for a time period in the official cannon, this will be before the gate watch is created to help battle the Elderazi in Zendikar.(it is possible that I will have YOU become the gatewatch instead :P)

Or running away because Kozilek screamed at us. :)
Would you be interested Spheres of Might?

There is already a MtG: Planeshift game just finishing up the recruitment phase.
Maybe mine it for ideas? It would probably be a good read anyway. Maybe even get in contact with Brig directly and swap ideas.
Heres the Intrest thread.

This really makes me wish I knew more about MtG than how to play the basics of the card game.
There are online novels! Scroll down a little on this page to start the Battle for Zendikar series we'd be in.

Here is a list of the planes and a short History of them all(as well as most of the lore)
Likely I'd require you to state which your from. Please note that new Phrexia is formerly Mirrodin.
Also, being from different planes also opens up options for different races, infact some races are only from certain planes. Elves(for example) are not native to Theros, and in Lorwyn elves have deer-like feet and antlers.
I might reflect this by giving them alternative racial traits to represent these differences.
One noteable thing is that Minotaur on Kaldesh are smaller and not as Monsterous, more alike to half orcs.
Because of this I'll be creating Special plane-specific races.

There are online novels now? Awesome :)
I remember reading a lot of the paperback novels that they used to have. Those things are near extinct now, and difficult to get a hold of.As for this game, it sounds interesting and I'd like to throw in my hat for an idea, not sure what yet.
Do you have a rough idea of what level we would start at? So I can start brainstorming?

I'll be that lovable jerk, and point out that it should probably be 'planeswalkers/planeswalkers' and not plainswalkers,
Unless you want all of us to be unblockable should the enemy control a plains, lolol
A buddy of mine and I were talking about how to handle becoming a planeswalker, and my suggestion is as follows:
You, the GM, should work with each player(either during recruitment, or after they are chosen) to come up several unique, special abilities specific to each walker.
While using mythic(or a variant) helps, I my suggestion(with or without mythic) is probably the best way to truly duplicate the special feeling of being a planeswalker in magic.
All that said, totally interested.

Would you be adverse to Akashic Mysteries content? I'm specifically interested in the Rajah class, which specializes in using Allies tactically, using Maneuvers through them and shaping Veils upon them, granting them interesting abilities..
If need be, I can definitely help with more specific mechanical insightbb
