Can the site-bound oracle curse be applied to a boat?

It's a lot more powerful if it can be applied to some sort of moving vehicle. How would you rule that at your table?

i would rule that you can't since you are bound to a place not an object, as i see it the site-bound curse is more for NPC since i can see no advantage for player to be always near that place, its just a +1 CL, perfect for NPC that you must visit in a dangerous place and mostly inaccessible for plot device and/or quest giving, i would suggest to take another curse instead

It may depend on how big the boat is.

I'd allow it, so long as it's a boat suitable enough to call a place. Skull & Shackles pirate ship--sure. Canoe--not unless you're a termite.

Now I'm picturing an oracle carrying a kayak with him everywhere.

That would be closer to "Object-Bound" than "Site-Bound", and isn't much of a curse if the character can carry the object around himself/herself/itself/themselve.

Now I want a "Lamp-Bound" curse.

Exactly the reason I was asking :)

A site which can be destroyed sounds dangerous to a site-bound oracle. They won't ever be able to upgrade to a better ship either.

"Dude, why are you carrying that tamagotchi? It's so 1990s."

"I have to. Or else the ineffable powers of the cosmos will withdraw their favor."
"Whoa. That sucks."
"Yeah, well, better than my cousin, who has to wear parachute pants and Hammer side-walk everywhere."

Also: If I allowed this, I would insist the vessel in question always be referred to as the "oracle coracle."

EDIT: And if it were a venerable craft passed down through the generations, it would, of course, be the "historical oracle coracle."

EDIT 2: And naturally, if you painted big kitten eyes on the front of it and gave it flowy streamers, it would be the "adorable historical oracle coracle."

That, or just quote Aladdin: "Phenomenal cosmic powers... and Itty-bitty living space."

Size matters, and you're gonna need a bigger boat.

Really depends on the vehicle. For instance, I'd TOTALLY allow baba yaga's hut to be one even though it's got legs.

As to a ship... I'd allow it as long as it's a real ship with multiple rooms, decks, ect. I don't see it as a real big advantage as it's MUCH more likely to be damaged and it's a lot more likely to suddenly find your 10' space to be under hundreds of feet of water... Seems like a reasonable compromise for the added mobility.

I think the way I'd look at how big a vehicle needs to be to qualify if to look at it when it's not moving. Put that ship on the ocean floor or in a desert: would you think of it as a 'site' sitting on the ground? If so, it passes.

kayak: That's a barn big kayak if it has a 10'x10' square in/on it...

Destroyed is an issue but it should be possible to move it depending on what the 10' space is. For instance, if your space is a figurehead, ship's wheel or some other ship part it could be converted to fit a new ship.

I'd treat it the same as if a normal site bound oracle had a 10' statue as his space and the 'site' burned down. I'd allow it to start working again once it's set in place in a new/rebuild 'site'.

Maybe don't allow a folding boat or such...

Being that portable isn't a good thing.

Walk through market and suddenly feel sick as pick-pocket walks off with boat...

Or is a closed extra dimensional space more than 1500' away? I'd think so.

And finally, I wouldn't call it a 'site' when folded. Remember, you MUST have a 10'x10' called out and when folded you don't have that. So sickened and nauseated while moving it.

Needs of the Campaign is the Golden Rule here. We once had a Wagon Shrine in the game. The party travelled about being the good guys, at least until the "idjit alchemist" new player destroyed the shrine on his first and last session.
