Since it is January, I feel obliged to insert the question about whether we will be seeing the PACG Adventure Chest. So... will we?
Been pushed to the end of April according to Channel Fireball, which is linked from UltraPro's site, so that seems like a reliable source of info.

It is a storage option for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, by Ultra Pro. It has been repeatedly delayed.

No word.

Shouldn't we always panic?
At any moment, it could turn out that we live in a metastable vacuum, and at one point nearby the vacuum could decay to the true ground state, nucleating a wave of destruction that propagates out at the speed of light, engulfing and annihilating us all.
I mean, if that's not a reason to panic, I don't know what is.

Just make sure the US government doesn't mount any Tesla designed death rays on satellites to accidently have head-on collisions with high energy cosmic radiation bursts and we should be relatively safe from that outcome. ;-)
Order looks all fine at my end. Hopefully it'll be nearer the front than the back this month.

It sounds like you could use a drink, climb up out from in front of that bulldozer and let's head to the pub.

He's actually referring to false vacuum, which is a theory that some scientists have that potentially at any moment reality could make it impossible for matter to exist, a state that would propagate at the speed of light from its point of origin, and in fact it might already have happened; since we depend on the speed of light for information to reach us, we would have no way of knowing until we vanished. If you're curious, I think it's explained in a reasonably simple manner on the video: The Most Efficient Way to Destroy the Universe – False Vacuum, on the Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell channel on YouTube.
Edit: On the other hand, though, we can't do anything about it, so I don't particularly see a point in panicking...
Edit Edit: And more on topic, my order processed, so hopefully the universe isn't destroyed before it gets here. :)

I can't do that. They'll knock down my house.

He's actually referring to false vacuum,
I know, thanks. I was referring to the plot of a novel where the described circumstances (death ray plans stolen from Tesla and the hardware deployed on a military satellite) threatened to cause the false vacuum scenario to happen. Callahan's Key by Spider Robinson for anyone who likes humorous sci-fi.

How do you know what shipment you will be on?since the first batch is tomorrow right
There isn't a set order but it is rather determined by how many people have the same set of subscriptions as you do.*
The only pattern I've been able to see is if I preorder non-Paizo products and have them shipped with my subscription. I'm pretty sure that delays things in the month they ship every time I do it.

Franz Lunzer |

Don't worry too much about it. If you added something to your subscription order, you are a bit more likely to have your items shipped towards the end of the shipping window (estimated to be the 20th) than if you don't, but some "pure subscription-orders" will be sent out around that time as well.
It just takes about two weeks for Paizo to ship all orders, no matter what.

so ifi have every subscription but bought something thats not a subscription ill be delayed
Not necessarily. However, my experience is that adding non-subscription orders generally means you'll go out near the end of the queue. It's a bit hit-and-miss really.
I've found that the best strategy is to read the 'end by' date (ie 20th January) and take anything earlier than that as a blessing. That way you only ever get good news.

We try very hard to ensure that adding items will not delay orders leaving our warehouse because we do not want to penalize additional shopping. The warehouse usually has one team focused on large groups of orders that can be processed via assembly line tactics and another team working on orders that have subscriptions items plus other things.
Generally I find, the more a subscriber tries to game the system to ship earlier in the subscription shipping queue, the more likely they are to have that backfire. Usually it takes us between 1-2 weeks to ship out our subscriber orders.
Hope that helps,
Sara Marie

About a week ago, I ordered four books from a PoD publisher. Last Friday, about noon, I got one of the books in the mail. Four hours later, I got a shipping notification email. Can Paizo make that happen with my subs, please? :-)

I switched to UPS ground this time. Instead of waiting a week from the shipping email for tracking information to even show up, it's already there, and expected delivery is the 13th - 1 week from order spawning. Much better than UPSMI (though more expensive).

If you can figure out how to create a negative energy density, then it becomes possible under GR to create a warp drive. With FTL travel (as long as you're also able to boost yourself to high enough sublight speeds), you can have closed timelike curves, and at that point, yeah, you can participate in all kinds of shenanigans.
I mean, why stop at having the notification email come after you receive the item? Shouldn't you receive the item moments before you realized you wanted it?
