Thousand Bones Timeline (Spoilers)

In my group I have a Shoanti cleric from the Moon Clan and I had him interact with Thousand Bones on several occasions. The PC cleric now views Thousand Bones as a spiritual guide/mentor. We just started Seven Days and I started reading some of the later modules. I notice Thousand Bones makes an important appearance in History of Ashes. So I am wondering what is Thousand Bones' timeline because I want to make sure I play this correctly with my Shoanti cleric.

My impression is:
1- PCs first meet Thousand Bones about his grandson Gaekhen
2- Thousand Bones meets with Neolandus sometime during Seven Days but when would this happen roughly?
3- Thousand Bones returns to the Cinderlands because Korvosa is no longer safe? Or does he suspect anything about the Queen?
4- The PCs rescue Neolandus, who then tells them they should seek Thousand Bones.

In my game, Thousand Bones would probably send the Shoanti PC a letter or meet with him before he leaves for the Cinderland. I think this would occur during Seven Days. Any thoughts?

Also, would there be any foreshadowing I could transmit through Thousand Bones during Seven Days?

In fact, Thousand Bones left Korvosa shortly after the PCs recovered Gaekhen's body and Neolandus Kalepopolis never met with him.

Quote from History of Ashes, p. 11.:

Of all the Shoanti tribes, it has been the Skoan-Quah who have been most open to talk of peace between Korvosa and the tribes. Until recently, a large number of Skoan-Quah ambassadors dwelt near Korvosa, and peace talks between the two factions were slowly but surely heading in the right direction. Neolandus recalls one old shaman in particular as being level-headed and friendly, a man named Thousand Bones. One of the last things Neolandus tried before the Arkonas got hold of him was to arrange a meeting with the old shaman, but unfortunately, shortly after an event involving one of the Shoanti braves during the riots, the Shoanti abandoned Korvosa. Thousand Bones and his people have returned to a place east of Kaer Maga in the Cinderlands known as the Kallow Mounds, and their reports on the tumult and chaos in Korvosa very likely fueled the neighboring tribe’s sudden need to strike while the enemy was wounded.

If the Shoanti haven't left Korvosa yet in your campaign, you could have the threat of the plague send them running back to the Cinderlands.

He might have picked up rumors that the Sklar-Quah are actually preparing for war, and decide to return to the Cinderlands to talk them out of it (unsuccessfully, of course). That is a good excuse to leave as well ...

I usually try to set up in EoA that potential war with the Shoanti is part of the reason for so much tension in Korvosa. Ileosa pulling a Marie Antoinette and draining the coffers while a conflict is brewing makes people uneasy and tense; when the king dies it's like handing Miss America 2015 the reins while some heavy diplomatic stuff looks like it's on the horizon. Helps round out the fourth book, I've found.

He leaves right after the Dead Warrens encounter to bring Gaekhen's body back to the tribe (and talk them out of invading Korvosa).

He'd been in Korvosa for a while before that, definitely since before the AP starts, trying to improve relations between the Shoanti and Korvosa enough to

I'm going to use the angle that Thousand Bones wants to ensure the Sklar-Quah quiet the drums of war.

I do like the idea that Thousand Bones mentions that he met with Neolandus to the PCs before he heads to the Cinderlands. Basically starts foreshadowing the events of EfOK.

Well, I presume he DID meet with Neolandus before the adventure starts, who else would be in on the peace talks? It doesn't really say.

But once (things start happening right before the adventure), he goes into hiding quickly. I think the most that Thousand Bones would know about that would be maybe a hastily cancelled meeting.
