These dates make it really tough to decide whether to pick up my sub at Gen Con; I had figured Gen Con might be the July releases, but I though those would come out at the normal time so it would be a no-brainier not to pick them up, in order to get them earlier. This late release means now I have to weigh whether I can get them earlier by shipping or pickup. The worst thing that could happen would be for them to ship to me and arrive on Aug 3, and sit on my front porch until that Sunday.

Same! When I saw the e-mail I went "neat!" because I misread it as August's subscriptions. And then I reread it and went "... why would I want to get my stuff a week later and then have to carry it around Indianapolis?"
Is there a reason Tup isn't being shipped with the Goblin class decks? Does anyone know what he's shipping with exactly? I intend to purchase Mummy's Mask from my local shop (since the extra shipping costs wouldn't make the subscriber discount worth it) but if he's shipping with the base set, then I'll need to grab one at GenCon. Nevermind, I see he's shipping with the base set. So I'll be grabbing one at GenCon.

To be blunt, the instructions for how to do this on this page and in the email are not as helpful as they should be:
"To pick up subscriptions at Gen Con, you must opt-in on your My Subscriptions page"
"To opt-in to Gen Con 2016 subscription pick up, just head over to your My Subscriptions page and choose the option for 'Yes, I'll pick up my subscription products at Gen Con Indy 2016.'"
No where on my subscription page does it say anything about opting in for convention pick up or give instructions on how to do that. Unless, of course, I click on "Change Shipping method" and select it in the modal there. That's pretty counterintuitive. What happens to my next months subscriptions?
That's just a really awful user experience. What you tell me to do and what I actually need to do are completely different. I really love the idea of getting my GenCon Pathfinder order prepped and ready for me to pick up there, but doing so isn't a smooth experience.

Sorry for any confusion with this. We'll be looking into this to see if some functionality has changed

Very strange, it says that Hell's Vengeance #6 is set to ship out to me, but the other items will be available for pickup at Gen Con. Of course I'd like to pick the AP volume up as well.
Thanks for filing an issue to the tech team, hopefully it gets fixed before the cutoff.

Mine is doing the same thing, now that I check.

In the past we were able to sidecart items that were part of subscriptions we are not normally subscribed to. Would that be the same here, say for pawns and goblin decks -- as long as we have them sidecarted?
Katina Davis Customer Service Representative |
Just to confirm, "Street Date" is when we should see it at our FLGS?
Yep, this should be the date that local game stores have the products available on shelves. This is also generally the same date that a given month's products will be available to purchase as PDFs from Paizo.com. This month's will be a little later than normal to work around GenCon, but it often towards the end of the subscription month.

Hi Incendiaeternus,
Thanks for your question! I'm not 100% sure on this and would possibly have to confer with our Fearless Leader (who is currently out of town.) However, since there's a list of items that subscribers CAN put into their sidecart to be picked up at GenCon, I'm fairly certain that those are the only things that will be available to sidecart.
The following items can be placed in your sidecart and be processed for Gen Con Pick Up with your subscription item(s):
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook (OGL) Pocket Edition
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary (OGL) Pocket Edition
Pathfinder Module: We B4 Goblins! (May be added after July 1st)
Pathfinder Adventure Card Game—Promo Card: Tup (May be added after July 1st—Pathfinder Adventure Card Game subscribers will receive this as a promo with their next Pathfinder Adventure Card Game subscription shipment currently estimated Fall 2016)
If I hear anything different, I'll be sure to update you as soon as I know. Just let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.
Thanks!

Gen Con Pick up is set up on each product individually on the back end and it looks like I forgot to hit save when I did the AP; I've corrected it now. Gen Con pick up is an all or nothing thing, for those of you with multiple subscriptions who already opted in, you should not need to do anything further if you've already selected pick up, the AP is now included. For folks with just the AP, the option to select Gen Con pick up should be visible now.
edited for clarity.

This was caused by me not setting the AP correctly for Gen Con pick up. I apologize for the confusion, it should be corrected now and the opt-in should show for everyone, include folks with the AP subscription. Please let me know if there is anything further I can do to assist.

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to GenCon, but my wife is definitely going. Is there a way to "authorize" her to be able to pick up my loot? (Even if it's an option I'm not sure if we're going to bother... but I like to know my options.) :-)
Unfortunately not. We have to have the account holder pick up their subscription.

The 4 non-subscription items can be added to the sidecart for pick up. Any other new release, the account has to have a subscription attached to have the item included.
If you'd like to start a new subscription to get an item for pick up, please let customer service know as sometimes the starting item and pick up combination can misbehave.thanks!

Folks, we've moved the July auth back to July 21st. This also moves the last day for opt-in for picking up at Gen Con to July 21st at 10am PST. However, to assist us in packing our trucks for the show, if you know you will be opting in, please make that selection as soon as possible.
Thanks

Sara Marie,
Several of my local VOs and GMs are going to be running PFS games at Gen Con 2016, but since we won't know what maps are going to be used until just before (we're hoping for earlier but it's out of our hands) the July 21th cut-off for Gen Con pickups, I wanted to ask this as far in advance as possible:
Is there a way to place non-subscription orders for Gen Con pickup/purchase for PFS GMs?
I myself am relatively broke so I can't afford to put money down now for things, but I know that I won't be ordering more than the amount of store credit I'll be getting for working at Gen Con.
Thank you very much in advance, and take care!
Yours,
Mike Bramnik
PFS VC, Bloomington Indiana
I sent a variation of the above as an email to customer service about a week ago, but it occurs to me that this might be the better place to ask - feel free to delete that email if you come across it!

Jeff, Tonya and I discussed several ideas to help support GM's at Gen Con with some kind of pick up system, but the scenarios for Gen Con will not use the map releasing in July and the logistics are too complex at this time, so it will not be happening for 2016. It is something we continue to consider for the future, but we have no announced plans at this time (i.e.: maybe in the future, but no promises or guarantees).
As a heads up, Customer Service is scheduled to drop Gen Con store credit onto GM accounts the week of July 25th- 29th. If you haven't seen it by August 1st, you can email customer.service@paizo.com and Tonya and we can make sure its on your account before the 4th.
thanks,

Folks, we found an issue where subscribers who have Gen Con Pick Up
selected when trying to place any of the 4 add-on items in their sidecart may experience difficulties submitting the order. Our tech team is working on the issue.
In the meantime, you are welcome to place any of those items in your cart and let customer service know and we can place the item(s) in your sidecart for you.
Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we repair this feature.

Hello Alex,
Joana is correct. Subscriptions can be started with the current item or the next upcoming one. Right now the current Adventure Path is Hell's Vengeance #5 and the next upcoming one is Hell's Vengeance #6. Once the street date for Hell's Vengeance comes (august 4) that will become the current volume and the first part of Strange Aeons will become the next upcoming volume. At that time you should be able to start a new subscription beginning with Strange Aeons #1.

We have an ongoing issue where subscribers opting in for Gen Con pick up cannot finish checkout with the above items.
You can either try flagging your account to not opt in, going through checkout to submit the add-on item(s) to your sidecart and then reflagging the opt in option OR you can put the item(s) you want in your shopping cart and contact customer service to drop them into your sidecart.
We are working on fixing this, however, I am unsure when the fix will be able to be pushed.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

Hey Sara and the rest of the gang,
Since it seems that the GenCon pickup is limited to subscriptions, I'm going to initiate the Class Deck subscription for pickup. However, I'd like to pick up the PFS Pawn Collection, but I'm not interested in any of the other Pawn Collections (as I'm concentrated mainly on the card game).
I'm tempted to initiate the Pawn Collection subscription, but I feel like a *bad person* initiating the Pawn Collection knowing I'll cancel it immediately afterward. Are you guys okay with that?

Yes, we are okay with this.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. We understand things happen or people want to pick and chose. While the ideal world is that you love everything in product line and never want to cancel, making rules about how soon you can cancel a subscription would foster ill will towards people wanting to sign up again in the future.
Let me know if you have any questions.

For all subscribers:
Due to some last minute repairs to the convention pick up process, I've been going very slow to start the auth/order spawning today to ensure its working as expected. We hit a speed bump almost right away with the Class Deck promo cards, but that has been resolved.
I've set the little order spawning report free to run wild and so far it looks good. Please let us know right away if you notice anything off.
For Convention Pick Up Folks:
The process has changed slightly since last time we've run this! As the auth/order spawning runs today, your convention pick up items will be placed into your sidecart. Next week (currently estimating Tuesday or Wednesday) I will be processing those convention pick up orders. This will take appropriate items out of your sidecart, put them into a real order for convention pick up, attempt to settle the charge and if the settlement is successful, will grant you PDFs where needed.
Thanks
Sara Marie

Not so much as issue as maybe a bug. On my auth email, it has the 44.99 for Horror Adventures with a strikethru, then in an adjacent column has 44.99 a second time. The second one is vertically aligned with the shipping charge, but the struckthru price is just hanging out in a column by itself Bt the description and the other prices. Just kinda looks odd and thought I'd point it out

Thanks for letting us know about this! I've taken a look, and it does seem to just be a display error. I'm not quite sure why it's displaying the strike through the first price, but I've double-checked the order and it seems that everything is the correct price, so at least it's not messing with the order itself.
I'll be sure to pass it on to the folks who can change that kind of thing, but I have a feeling that with GenCon coming up, it might have to wait a bit to be fixed. In the meantime, however, please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can help with.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Is the "class decks deluxe" subscription just the behind-the-scenes way you deal with promo cards or something? There aren't actually two options for that sub, are there?
Edit: wait, they don't come with promo cards, do they? Now I'm even more curious.
Promo cards for the Class Deck Subscription are special for this month, is my understanding. We may or may not occasionally have promo cards for future releases in this line.
I am pretty sure the "Deluxe" you are seeing in the email confirmation is an artifact of how we had to set up the promo cards to go with these items. If I recall correctly the same thing happened with the card game sub when we were mucking around with getting promo cards right for that one when it launched. The tech team has been alerted to look into and fix this display issue.
Thanks!
