There was a blog post some months ago that detailed features of The Hellfire Compact. In that post, we were promised statblocks for puppies.

WHERE ARE THE PUPPIES, I DON'T SEE THEM IN THIS MODULE

They're dogs. "Puppies" was a cute way of saying the PCs are going to do bad things. And kicking actual puppies is where I, personally, draw the line. :)

Bag of Kittens
Price 100 gp
Weight 8 lbs.
As a standard action, you can open a bag of kittens to let out the cute little bundles of joy. All creatures within a 60 foot radius must make a DC 30 Will save or be unable to take any violent action for as long as the kittens remain cute and adorable. Any character who DOES take a violent action immediately functions as an enemy for all other creatures in the area, and if that violent action was perpetrated on the kittens, all creatures gain a +10 bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls and checks made to overcome spell resistance against the perpetrator of the violent action. A creature who takes violent action against a kitten who is killed is judged immediately by Pharasma and cannot be restored to life. As a move action, a person can pet an adjacent kitten to receive a +6 morale bonus to all saving throws.

*eyes his own puppy*

Given the farts he occasionally lets out, I'm not sure how delicious he would be....

I think he got the alignment wrong on the puppy. Shouldn't it be chaotic cute?

It's only typical because it's honest. :P

If I tempt the puppy with enough belly scratches and sausage links, could I eventually get it to convert to Asmodeus and become Lawful Evil?

Ah, Yes, kicking puppies is so much of an Overdone Cliché.

Eating Puppies, with a side dose of Babies's Hearts and a glass of Virgin Blood is where it's at these days.

One of my players was wondering why puppies were delicious.

So I got to explain about Paizo hiring evil T-Rexes to run things... =^-^=

(This being the lass in my Skype Runelords game who runs an Irrisen Imperious Sorceress who had to flee Irrisen because she was too nice and was able to get more work out of the peasants using diplomacy than fear... and who regularly uses spells to completely screw over my villains. More than one big bad has been strangled to death with her pale golden hair...)

Does my severe allergy to cats make me immune or more susceptible to this item?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

That sounds like a -2 Circumstance penalty on the Will save.

please consult your GM on the Allergy flaw, but it sounds like a DC 20 Fortitude save or gain the sickened condition, not a function of the Bag of Kittens.

Anybody have a link to the blog post the OP mentioned? (My search-fu failed!) Was it a reference to the hell-bred dogs in the bestiary section by any chance? I designed those critters, so naturally, I'm curious... :)

I'm pretty sure it's from the announcement thread that popped up as the crew unveiled it at the PaizoCon seminar last year.

Yeah, during the announcement, and to make sure that people understood you would actually have to do evil stuff in the adventure, Wes said that the first thing you have to do is murder a man's puppy. Which pretty much makes the PCs the ultimate evil from page 1...

Bag of Kittens is officially the best thing ever, I am totally using that against my players, thanks James, anyone that says T-Tex aren't awesome has not seen a T-Rex create hilarious kitten items!

The real question is.
Can our characters get Hell Hound puppies during the course of the AP?

I would eat the kitten and raise the puppies as guard dogs, unless they are cutesy breeds, in which case I would kick the puppies.

What are the stats for using a bag of kittens as a melee weapon?

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Pathfinder Rulebook Subscriber

Haha, maybe something like:
Melee 36 claws -2 (1d2-1)

That would be stats of a thrown weapon.

Oh sweet! can we use this for

this wittle guy?:
"His other dog, a small Taldan spaniel named Archie, keeps him company while persistently gnawing on a pig’s foot."

:P

PS: any secret list on a memory stick somewhere that compiles a rough list of common dog or horse breeds in Golarion? I don't know... I love that stuff!

Well now I have a player asking me to have his goblin rogue character carry a sack of tied up puppies around so he can hide under tables, bite the puppies for the morale buff and then sneak attack bite people. I'd be less amused if that didn't sound exactly like a plan a goblin would come up with if you told him biting puppies made him better at biting other stuff.
