Since I will be on a liquid diet for six weeks, I went ahead and ordered Soylent liquid meal replacements. One pitcher a day for full nutritional needs. I also cheated and ordered the coffee/breakfast bottles, too. But basically, I just spent $103 on a month's worth of meals. With free shipping.
I already feel like a Silicon Valley entrepreneur.

I tried regular Soylent for a few weeks. It filled me up and gave me a lot of energy, but it also made me really nauseous. Also, you're not supposed to drink nothing but Soylent, just replace a meal or two with it every day.

Carnation instant breakfast?
Milkshakes?
Hot toddys?
Is Easy Cheese liquid enough?
I dunno. I was googling for ideas, and now I'm thinking a tequila sunrise made with Tang instead of orange juice would probably taste good... so my ideas are all immediately suspect.

Hey guys gals and monkeys,... ;P
So, COX finally got their act together. AFTER all teh rain has come and gone.
Yeah the Wiz and family are still here. Mostly dry. :P
Short story, water always comes up on back porch, so was expecting flood from there, It came up to back door, and front door, ,...
THEN came in the garage! And straight up to and in the house door from there! Was NOT ready for that.
Rassin frassin water,...
So, everything that was on the floor of garage and not in tupperware was destroyed. Not only things I should have put up or gotten rid of years ago (Video tapes, hardback books I knew were somewhere) but things we wanted/needed, like my wife's teaching material books. Not cheap. And there were a LOT of them. :(
On the bright side, Now I'm getting my garage cleaned up. My wife can start parking her car in there again. And if I clean up/rearrange properly, so can I! (That'll be first!)
It did get into the house, but only a little bit, kept it along the wall by the door, and a foot or so onto my carpet.
I keep telling myself, it could be much worse. I could be throwing out all of my furniture, and ripping out drywall.
Or, living in a shelter and moving again like after Katrina.
(ARGH! NO! BAD flashback! Bad!)
;P
Now have to get back up to speed on PbP's, work, and preparing for my extra theater class I teach on Tuesday nights for a teensy bit of extra cash. :D
Busy wizard is very busy,...
So, Hope you all are high and dry? :)

This monkey is glad you came through (mostly) unscathed.
I come to you from the wilds of Canadia. I am in the verdant idyll known as Ingonish, lounging in my $50 CDN/night motel room with a private beach (!!) and a view of Cape Smokey (!!!). Oh, and they also have free wifi. Not GREAT wifi, but free wifi. I get spotty one-bar service, so I can post every so often. No major PbP stuff though. Not gonna happen.

LOL!
I don't even know what Takayoki is (I'll google it soon) But after this weekend, I'll bet it tastes good! ;)
Thanks for well-wishes all, Much appreciated. We'll be fine.
There are people just down the street with all of their furniture and carpet on the curb now. I firmly believe that God just decided to remind me how good I have it, (been feeling put-upon by work and such lately)
Oh, AND he decided to add a little incentive for cleaning out the garage. I HAVE been saying I'll get around to it for 8 years now,... ;P
Oh, my neighbor (or at least her grand kid) has also inherited all of my childrens old play stuff, like a large at-home bouncy castle, and princess play tent,...
She told me "I LIKE it when you clean your garage!" ;P

And the Wizard is glad that you are enjoying yourself in what sounds like a very nice spot! Have a drink (on the beach!) for me!
(Seriously, I ran out of alcohol during all of this nonsense. No time/money to restock as I'm buying cleaning supplies and PLASTIC storage containers. have a drink for me!) ;P
Have fun monkey! May no storms disturb your peaceful retreat!

No way, man. Everyone should go back to just being fans. While they're at it, we shouldn't be able to "focus" the threads anymore, and we should have to make a separate account to play in PbPs. And we should go back to the blue background. And I should start making dumb comments and sounding like an... oh, wait, I still do that.

To the Sea, to the Sea! The white gulls are crying,
The wind is blowing, and the white foam is flying.West, west away, the round sun is falling.
Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling.
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the Lost Isle calling,
In Eressea, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people for ever!’

As an aside: Anyone who wants a stirring epic to listen to as they drive along could do worse than the Silmarillion. The narrator has one of those voices that makes you think of Homer and Odysseus. And the story! Flame-hearted Faenor and his crafting of the Silmarils. Melkor/Morgoth and dread Ungoliant and their destruction of the Two Trees. The rise and fall of Numenor.
Epic
