Really looking forward to a singular book for diesel punk/space setting.
People of the Stars was something I really enjoyed but was disappointed when not enough support came out for that in later Pathfinder books. However, this is not a downing of Paizo, I understand companies only have so much time for each project/product. They can't go down every rabbit hole not knowing where it will lead when other projects are more likely to keep the company going longer.
I pledged to this and I really hope it succeeds, because it looks like it'll be a very nice edition to my collection.

Something that Robert is probably too modest to point out directly: everybody involved in this project is being paid at a fair industry wage, which is pretty dang awesome.
Also, if you're still hesitant, there's a free preview guide now available.

Hi Lorathorn! I maybe already answered that question upthread but it bears repeating. We have no plans at present, but nearly 200 pages of the book includes system-agnostic setting material that could easily be used in any game system. If there's enough demand (and we fund) I could see a conversion happening.
Also, Lilith kindly says the things I sometimes have a hard time admitting. I'm paying all artists and writers industry-competitive wages. Creative people absolutely deserve to be paid fairly for their efforts.

Hopefully it not looking feasible at this point is deterring anyone from pledging. For all we know know $20,000 worth of pledges could come from potential backers that think it won't make it. Nothing to lose by pledging if you want the product.
That said, this does look like it needs a christmas miracle to get off the ground. Which is sad because it was going to be a birthday present to myself. If it doesn't get backed will you guys try again later or try to get funding elsewhere because 30 grand is still impressive compared to other successful and incredibly good kickstarters I've seen for Pathfinder. You could stand to go with a series of smaller releases, maybe separating the crunch and the fluff and packaging the fluff with adventures.

OK, OK already!
I've been overindulging Kickstarters for awhile and decided to call a break for a year, but you have broken me down. This project has some of my favorite people from these boards working on it, so I'm in. Pledged and hope this will be funded! :D

Thank you for backing, folks! Another proud contributor here. :D
Please remember to share this as widely as possible, whether you are a backer or just know other gamers who might find it interesting–this can still make it, but it needs as many eyes as possible to see it. (Especially like and retweet us on Facebook and Twitter if you use those; Facebook doesn't show every post to everyone who follows the poster and Twitter feeds usually stream by too fast for one tweet to be seen.)

I am a huge fan of science fiction, fantasy and horror with space opera being one of those structures I like using to combine all three. It sounds like you are going for a combination of dieselpunk and raygun gothic with this which is just the icing on the cake. I have hunted down material for Spelljammer on ebay. I bought as much as I could of Dragonstar when it came out. I backed Clockwork Gnome's "Sailing the Sea of Stars" and Legendary Games's "Legendary Planet" I could not afford to support Zombie Sky's "It Came from the Stars!" but I made damn sure I bought into it when I could. I will be very disappointed if this does not fund but if that happens I beg you to please keep me posted on how I can help bring this creation to life. Somehow, someway this needs to happen. By the dark will of Cthulhu even if I have to send money via paypal afterwards to get this book published I will do it. I believe in this project that much.

Tonight (11/19) we have two events where you can ask Robert Brookes, Lead Developer and Designer of Aethera, about combining sci-fi and fantasy elements in RPGs.
At 8pm EST the team will be on the RPGNet Q&A: http://tinyurl.com/rpgnetchat
At 9pm EST: We'll also be doing a Twitter #RPGChat about mixing science fiction and fantasy in RPGs. We'll be tweeting with the @AetheraRPG account and Robert will be using his @Sphynxian account. I encourage all of you to join if you can. It's at 9pm EST for 1 hour.
Some basics on Twitter chats:
1) Use the hashtag #RPGChat in every tweet and reply.
2) Retweet stuff that you think is cool.
3) Check out TweetChat (http://www.tweetchat.com/) for ease of chatting. If you have Hootsuite, TweetDeck, or any other twitter feed manager you can follow the #RPGChat hashtag.
What questions do you have?

Wow! We're well on our way there as long as we keep sharing this. Thanks for your interest, everyone! I'm really looking forward to bringing another new class to life. :D
If you have more questions after the #RPGChat, you are still welcome to ask them here (or on the Kickstarter itself if you're a backer).

I saw this comment (though less abbreviated) on the KS comments page. What new class are you referring to? The cantor, or something else?
| Oceanshieldwolf |
You can see an earlier verison of the cantor HERE. Though perhaps the current cantor being designed is more its own Base Class, and less a Hybrid of the Bard and Inqusitor.
Also see Interjection Games Cantor Base Class in Strange Magic - it is also a Divine class with an extremely well developed composition system.

Less than 48 hours left to go on the Aethera Kickstarter and we're only $7.5k away from our goal! In the past 2 days we've raised nearly $11k so this is more than doable. You can make this happen! Please pledge and share this with your friends!

I just listened to the Know Direction podcast where Ryan and Perram interviewed Robert about this project, and I'm really stoked about this!
I just backed at the Oracle level. And I just plugged it on Facebook.
This campaign setting looks amazing!
| Isabelle Lee |
And backed. Hopefully this will fund. And hopefully the stretch goals will somehow be produced later...
I'll do whatever it takes to see Races of Aethera published. I have material for the zahajin that needs to see the light of day.
Plus, there's a lot more to the Choir of the Machine than I could fit into the Campaign Setting.
