There are a lot of petty lordlings in Midgard, as well as dukes and emperors. Every single one of them wants their nation to show allegiance in clear, pictorial form. Heraldry is one of those things that makes Midgard entertaining during play: describing a shield to players can get a reaction from the person who recognizes it, or call for die rolls if someone wants to try to puzzle out information from it. It's also just a sign of who is rich and powerful, of course. When we titled this project "Dark Roads & Deep Magic", we definitely wanted to give equal weight to both setting and sourcebook. Midgard has always been a dark setting, fairly twisted in its biggest empires of evil, and one of the ways that works out best at the table is if the DM has some toys that the players don't know much about. In the early days of Zobeck and Midgard, those toys included necrophagy cast by the ghoul warlocks and later it grew to include Red Portal magic in the Southlands. With the hardcover tome you can flip through to find what sparks your interest with words, the large format art gazetteer allows you to browse the great pieces of art and wonder about the world of Khtius, then there's the 12 song CD (and now additional 3 song trilogy) that will really pull you into the devastated world of Dragon Kings.
Thanks ShadowcatX. Each of our PDF rules supplements is being designed by a veteran designer with a history of writing for that game system. We're confident they'll get the rules supplements in on time. We've found that a significant portion of the audience plays multiple games and seem to be intrigued at the thought of the world of Khitus displayed in several systems.

Not only have we reached our funding goal, but we’ve secured separate funding to ensure the Black Fortress Falls Song Trilogy Stretch Goal is already achieved (details on that coming soon!). Dragon Kings fans, Today we announced a new rebate offer to all international backers. This comes from listening to our current backers and responding to fan requests across the community. We took these suggestions seriously and hope you like the new offer. The rebate can be taken in one of two options at the end of the Kickstarter for international backers who are receiving the printed World Book as part of their rewards: 1) Cash Rebate Option. International backers get a straight rebate after the Kickstarter concludes ($10 for most, or $20 for Canadian backers) -OR- 2) Bonus Rebate in Add-Ons Option: International backers can take an additional $10 greater than that amount in add-ons (such as print versions of the PDF rules supplements, miniatures, poster maps or other products). Also a reminder from last week, we announced three new pledge levels: Digital Gamer, Gamer of Khitus, and Champion Gamer of Khitus.
