I have no idea what items will make the Top 32

Having seen every item remaining in the competition, I can honestly say I have no idea what items I'll see when the Top 32 are revealed tomorrow. I have my own short list of favorites, but there are well over a hundred items I could see potentially making the Top 32. Depending upon which voters are seeing which items the most often, just about any of those hundred-plus items could make the Top 32.

I think it's a testament to the quality of this season's entries that I can't even begin to predict this year's Top 32. In previous seasons, I've been able to narrow things down to a list of fifty or sixty items I thought had a good chance, but not this year. I know what items I'd pick as my own personal Top 32, but if none of them make it onto the official list, I won't be particularly surprised. The competition is just that tight this season.

Well said, i think the same!

I had a personal Top 32, but that last cull took items out of the running that I figured must be pretty solid, vote-wise. That was obviously not the case. Now I'm reevaluating my list and replacing the items that were dropped. Things are definitely interesting.

Dedicated Voter Season 6, Marathon Voter Season 7, Marathon Voter Season 8, Dedicated Voter Season 9

I usually only see a few of the ones that make to top32. And my personal almost never make the list. I will be very surprised by the top 32 this year again.

For me, there are some clear winners that stand out from the rest, but I've only found a dozen or so. I'm hoping all of my favorites get in, but even if they don't, there's a lot of wildcards.

I'm with Meepo I can see about 90 or so items that could plausibly make it...

I'm in the same boat. I keep seeing all these 'so many great entries' comments and wondering if I'm seeing a different listm I think there are at least 36 good entries this year, but not many more than that.

I haven't voted enough to say for certain, but I agree wholeheartedly - just about every item still in the running is absolutely top 32 worthy.

It's interesting. I have to admit I haven't seen as many items that I've really loved as I've seen in the last few years, but I keep looking at tough pairings since the most recent cull and thinking that I could certainly see either side (or both) in the Top 32.

This is where I stand also.

Fewer that I love, but more that are solid.

Me three. Might be a function of surprise and schedules compared to the December-centric RPGSS of ages past. I'm also curious to see how the voting counts and distribution of votes across voters changed.

I have a few personal favorites as well, will discuss when things are out in the open. Strong contenders, many oozing flavor with some solid mechanics included for a tough decision.

I haven't been able to vote as much this year as years past. I want to get in some votes before the reveal tomorrow. I'm pretty impressed with the offerings I am seeing this evening, just a couple hours before voting ends. I can't help but wonder how votings in the past would have gone had we had such similar culls and had a more apples to apples comparison sooner. Tomorrow we'll know.

I had to stop voting before the latest two culls, so I haven't had a great chance to see the future here! I'm really excited for the final reveal. Good luck, competitors!

I'm also VERY VERY excited to see what data Paizo is willing to put forward about how this round went... I think the voting changes this season have been interesting overall. Let's see how they play out!

Not wanting to killjoy, but please remember, only discuss your item and/or items you have seen if the contestant Requests feedback about their item in the inevitable feedback threads. I know this can be a pain when an item you are busting to talk about doesnt get a feedback request but we all should try to respect that entrants wishes as in prior years.

What TF said above is extremely important. It is a matter of respect for our fellow competitors.

I think last season we had threads about favored items and keep lists, where people could mention the items they loved, while still respecting the "no unrequested feedback" policy.

I hope we can have them again this time. I know there are people out there I want to thank for their item even if they do not make top32+4 ;-)

I'm not a big fan of tearing ideas down, and I try to critique only when requested.

The items I was planning to discuss were the ones that I had the most glowing things to say about - I was assuming that wouldn't be an issue. ^_^

Yes, what raven said... Feel free to have a nice item thread and say thanks but no more than that unless the item owner asks for detailed critique. I forgot about that thread raven, so thanks for the reminder.

I will respect the No Feedback Unless Requested rule. (Wasn't really aware of it) But I only had plans to mention the Items that I loved anyway. Especially if those Items didn't make the Top 32. I'd like the owners to some people really liked their concept.

I have to say I have no idea what items will appear, because some of the most amazingly pedestrian (and indeed a few entirely questionable) items seemed to have survived whereas other, way more (or even extremely) interesting items did not. I'm not seein an increase in excellence or a tight competition - I'm seeing the results of letting a section of the fans crucify a lot of creativity on the pillar of hum-drum. Which is how democracy works. Bring back enlightened despotism.

Anything that was culled likely never would have been seen by judges anyway. They typically looked at the top 100 maybe a little further if they just really really wanted to golden ticket something.

Realistically, with hundreds, if not thousands of people voting, that's a LOT of different opinions.

For all we know, some out there will look at all 36 of the top entries with doe-eyed admiration while thinking, "Yay! I voted for all of you people!"

Meanwhile, someone on the opposite side of the spectrum will be spitting a big ol' looger at his monitor, scowling in disdain as the name of every single top 36 entry causes his teeth to grind.

The truth of the matter is, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that a single item had a 100% upvote rate, as every player's tastes and eyes are different. What some think is treasure, others think of as trash, and vice-versa.

Ultimately, SOMEONE will question at least one item's presence in the top 36. That's just how it works when you have thousands of opinions clashing.

Just food for thought about the differences in opinion:

On Friday the blog said they had over 200,000 votes. A champion's votes (assuming stopping at 5,000) only affects the vote total by 2.5%. Marathoners only affect the vote by 0.5%.

The differing opinions do differ, but Superstar is still recognized!

(I love math).

Because it was wondrous item-friendly, I expect most of the repeats to be 2014 or older.

I don't totally disagree. A few things made it through that unquestionably should have been culled, while a few items with promise were inexplicably culled early. Still, I think you're overstating the case. Most of the really quality stuff is still in the running, while most of the chaff was eliminated.

And I have to say, I absolutely love the rolling culls and the opportunity they gave us to track how well individual items were doing. I think they were a great improvement to the process.

For the record I've had issues with some of the stuff picked in every top top 32 since I started competing. The problem comes form looking at items and comparing them to yours and finding them wanting. It will make you sick if you let it.

I'm good no matter what, even if I'm not top 100 I'm good. I've aged my sour grapes into wine.

Edit: I'll point out that I find it much easier to accept the concept of rejection from a voting public over having judges pick. Something about rejection from judges feels more personal and it just feels more arbitrary.

Maybe that's just me.
