I downvoted you before. Like, three or sixteen times. But now we've got acquainted, I look around and see that you really can shine, under the right light...
I found an item that, up until now, was believed to have been culled! I updated the list! one of you lucky ducks now know that you live to fight another day!!!

PS - I hope I made your day. Because that would make mine.
Yay! You survived the cull! I'm not sure you're Superstar material, but I do like you. You got my vote (again).
(Note: this post has nothing to do with the previous post [I think])
I think that there are three coins around. Maybe some that I'm selectively forgetting like some of those shields. But the three I remember are really cool. There's one in particular that I really like, though.
You're a simple item, and you have no real bearing on the game, but I like you all the more because of it. You're flavorful, and I could see myself purchasing you if I had gold to burn. Also, you'd make a nice gift to curry favor with NPCs!
I've seen this concept in other media before, and I have a soft spot for it. Your execution was flawless.
An anti-undead item that I not only enjoyed, but made it into my top picks for Round 1 (this one included, three total)

I am in the military (Army) specifically. My current favorite item is one that no Soldier would go without, and one that all Soldiers universally love. Praise praise praise for this item.
Hopefully this is vague enough. Those who are in the Army will probably zero right in, and if required, please delete. :-D

You are the coolest thing I've seen so far.
It was really unlucky for you that the algorithm matched you against my entry.

There was a pairing earlier that was heartrendingly difficult for me.
Both used mechanics that I don't get to see often.
Both had solid writing and templates.
Both had innovative themes that were executed brilliantly.
I chose one, but I will be immensely saddened if you one of you doesn't make it.

Y'know for an item I'm 99% sure is a joke, I think I've voted for you every time you've come up for me. You're just so... really well written. I'm sorry to the community if that's a no-no, but honestly props to the writer.

Ooo, hello again, one of my two favorite arthopod-themed items. Yes, u can haz upvote!
This item is kind of pointless in my game (house rules and stuff), but very good!

There's nothing wrong with joke items at all - they're just not for every group, and thus prove less popular than non-joke items. If you found an awesome item that's silly or even gonzo, by all means vote for it!

Nice. Almost a spell in a can, but different enough. I like it. Well thought out and useful. Kind of a plot item, but it is a plot I would use. Your competition is kinda creepy, has charges that are not "charges," and has a terrible recharge mechanic.

I just got a good item vs good item! I voted for a good item! :D
Oh darn, the rest of this item is pretty generic, but that one ability is so cool I want to steal it for something.
One of my favorite armours keeps showing up.
Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber
I have eight keep items...but I just saw my first that is truly Superstar.
I hope others feel the same way.
Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber
I just agonized over a choice, both these items were fantastic, but they were so different I felt it unfair to choose one over the other.
Ultimately I did pick though, because I am a monster.
That's disgusting- why would anyone think to do that?
*thinks about it for a minute*
... Oh that's really clever actually
So far, I have seven items that I would consider to be superstar, including one weapon and one armor. As far as I can tell, none of these has a perfect template.
There are a handful of other items that I really like for their concept, but unfortunately found their execution to be lacking.

Oh! I just saw my first item that I literally sat up and went "YES" to. I've liked quite a few so far, and thought they were all decent competitors, but if this one doesn't end up in the top 32 I'll eat my shirt. It's beautifully thematic, useful in and out of combat, simple, cheap, and it would just be so much fun to use, both as a GM and a player! Good job, Designer!
First 100k+ item that I thought "Woah, that's awesome and something I would by around level 18."
overall since cull 2, the quality has been really good.

There are some really cool suits of armor this year.

There's one little item that hits on all cylinders for me. Name, inspiration, and execution. I expect to see it in the Top 32.

Judging by what you keep getting paired with, I'm guessing you'll be out in the next cull.
I still love you.
Are you maybe trying to replicate this? Clever. I should have spotted that immediately.

Two simple and elegant items of low word count paired against each other. I gotta go with the slightly more interesting effect, but bravo to the two designers.
My keep list is growing! I might have a full 32 items I would truly keep, rather than a bunch I really like and a couple clingers just to have 32.
Good job folks!
I'm starting to see some very good items now that the chaff is being culled out. Today I added two new ones to my keep list, one of which I really hope goes all the way!

I'm kinda bummed out because one of my favorite items seems to have been culled for no good reason. It was a clever, pretty item with great style and mechanics.
Okay, I hadn't seen that one before. It's cheesy, but it got me to laugh, so thanks! :)
I apologize; I thought you were the other item that sounds so similar to you. I almost downvoted you because of that, which would have been a mistake. Whereas they got everything wrong, you got everything right. I'm glad I took the time to fully read both items, and realize my error!
Hamelin called.
I hung up, cause I'm keeping this. :)
The way this weapon ties mundane and magical functionality together is getting my vote again and again. Nice job, designer.
I really hope there's room in the Top 32 for two items that occupy an overlapping design space. Two of my favorites this year are items that can produce similar end results under certain circumstances, though their abilities are otherwise completely unrelated.
Oh! I'm a sucker for a good bard item!

Ah, friend, it's good to see you again. I was afraid you hadn't survived the cull, as it's been awhile. Here, take my vote!

Wow, an item that uses 'bleed' properly as a descriptor, and doesn't actually have anything to do with physical blood. On top of that, it's well written, useful, and the template looks correct. You just broke my aversion to that word this year, good job!
Oh, I wish I'd thought of that armor. Well done!
Yay! I felt really guilty voting against you last time, but someone had to win, and the other item was slightly better. But now you're back and I get to vote for you!
Vague vaguely vagueness is vague.

It's funny comparing the level of detail given in this thread and the snark one. Over there it's (and yes I am intentionally using a description here that does not apply to anything I have actually seen):
"Really? Pink elephants?" "No glaive-guisarme should cost that much." Etc.
Here, it's:
"Ooh! I really like you!"
Seems like the two should really work on the same standard, one way or the other.
