Starfall (Deathwatch PBP Recruitment)

Recruitment

Watch Captain Hrolth Fangtaker announces that:

"Inquisitor Reykholt has recently passed word to us about some information that he intercepted. The pompous fool expects us to heel and obey his every whim, but this time he might have a point. It seems a Choir of Astropaths has foreseen a grave disaster striking the world of Solace. More importantly, this disaster involves xenos—possibly multiple breeds of the foul creatures. The good news, though, is that if we can recover the Halo of Providence, it may be enough to stop the disaster. That artefact is aboard a lost Imperial ship, the Ardent Crown. The divination also indicates that the vessel is going to arrive in the Solace system shortly—after hundreds of years trapped in the Warp. You confront the xenos and stop whatever tragic fate they intend for Solace."

Will recruit a maximum of Six Battle Brothers, can be less. Must be able to post at least 1 per day, more is preferred. Character Concepts and History must be submitted and on this basis selection will be made. Character generation will be done in the Discussion Thread.

Cool.

So is it gonna be Core Level 1? Any details? I like the Black Shield I had, I'd like to keep him, can discuss with you what I had previously done with other GM.

Tac Marine-Black Shield.

Yup you can present him. But no stats yet. I wanna concentrate on concepts and history. But since you already have yours just post it here using spoilers.

It's a black shield.. So here or by PM? I'm fine either way.

Well, also got mine Heavy Bolter SM but if we need to change stats & concept I am fine with it.

Same here with my scout if you want, although i also have a white scars apothecary i am working on.

I have a Space Wolf techmarine I'm interested in playing.

I have a Space Wolf Dev just raring to go. ;)

who let the dawgs out?

seriously, enjoying the appearance of space wolves to my recruitment thread.

Got it.

Backstory:

Braggi Frostborn was a bastard in a haggard band, his father long dead and his mother dead in childbirth. He was cared for by the band, who scraped by raiding as they could and fleeing from their endless pursuers. He does not know how the band came to its state, but now he speculates they were pirates who were nearly wiped out at some point. He grew up with the ice raiders, and learned well how to handle the ropes of the skiffs. He was still a youth when the band's luck ran out, and they were caught, unable to escape. He died on the ice fighting, but there were others watching this final fight. The Wolf Priests selected him, and he awoke in the Fang.

The Vulka Fenyra were the first true family for Braggi. He took well to their training and his body accepted the modifications properly, and he survived his long walk to be welcomed into a new pack of bloodclaws. He did not get the chance to battle the enemies of mankind too long with his pack, because soon he was noticed for his skill with machinery by his superiors and was selected to be trained on Mars. As a skilled techmarine, he spent decades serving in the company of the Wolflords, and was not reunited with his old pack for nearly a century.

The pack had lost a few members as they aged into grey hunters, but it was a joyous reunion, filled with the feats of strength and storytelling one would expect. The next day, they were dispatched to battle against the Tau. The pack would move in fast on a communication center, and protect Braggi while he did whatever he could to take control of the xenos' communications and disrupt their forces. They seized the center easily enough, but while Braggi was taking control of their systems, he warned that a large relief force of xenos was inbound. The pack master thought of this information, and secretly ordered the rest of the pack to leave Braggi, seal him in the ops room, and take defensive positions. Braggi did not see them die, but he heard every single one of their deaths over the vox, and committed them to memory. The other wolves relieved Braggi before the Tau could break in, and the geneseed of the whole pack was recovered.

It was a great victory for the wolves, despite the losses, but left Braggi burdened with enormous survivor's guilt that anyone but himself can see. As an Iron Priest, he does not have the privilege of taking a long walk on the ice and the path of the lone wolf. He was assigned to the Deathwatch to try to find him a new pack and some measure of peace.

Hey! I have a Black Templar Apothecary whose concept I've been eager to explore for a while.

Backstory:

TL; DR version:

a) Before he was Athalos, a Templar Apothecary, he was a human named Carter. Carter's father was a doctor and he was a thug. They started a stim-supply operation that landed them in the Savlar Chem-Dogs penal regiment.

b) The Chem-Dogs fought on Armageddon and their commander died terribly in an Ork crossfire. Carter led the squad in an improbable berserk charge that broke one side of the Orks forces and let Imperial reinforcements mop up the other.

c) After the battle, an Inquisitor pulls him and his father out of the regiment. She wants them to use their chemistry knowledge to figure out how to activate a Xeno bio-weapon to wipe out a Tau colony. They succeed, but also determine that the weapon will cause terrible biological damage to human settlers who repopulate the colony after.

d) He and his father argue with the Inquisitor not to use the weapon. The Inquisitor kills his father to force him to activate it, but doesn’t kill him because she views it as “squandering a potentially valuable asset to the Imperium.” She owes a favor to a Black Templar warden in a nearby chapter-monastery and ships him off to them to be recruited.

e) He succeeds, becomes a Black Templar, and fights in the Crusades long enough to request a transfer to the Deathwatch. He begins seeking out the Inquisitor who killed his father even whilst waging war against the enemies of the Imperium.

Picture of Athalos, Black Templar Apothecary

Some sons follow in their father’s footsteps to become doctors just like them. Other sons con their fathers into illegal stim-supply ops, get busted, and land them both in penal regiments on Armageddon. “Details, details,” that son would scoff as Ork flamethrowers and exploding Chimaeras choked the ash-filled hellscape around father and son.

Long, long before he was Athalos, Apothecary of the Black Templar Space Marines, that son was named Carter. Carter and his father Reynaud had just been hurled into an Arbites cell on Savlar before they were dragged to an Imperial shuttle. “Congratulations, scum, you’re going to fight Orks on Armageddon!” whooped a Guard commander who was far too enthusiastic about leaping headfirst into a Squiggoth’s maw. Probably because a few hundred thousand criminals could be a main course and he’d just be the toothpick.

“As of now, you’re Savlar Chem-Dogs. You’ll have a rebreather to put whatever the hell stims you boys kill your brain with these days and a lasgun to blow away every Ork feth-face you see! Heck, take whatever’s not nailed down on the battlefield after…. Just get in there, scream ‘For the Emperor!’, and send greenskins straight to Him!”

Their commander did scream “For the Emperor!” before his body showered the squad in red-misted gore. Yet, Carter’s squad wasn’t afraid when Lootaz cored their Chimaeras and caught them in a crossfire with Orks in an opposing trench in the wastes. Carter himself didn’t doubt as he took command of the squad and ordered them to dump all of their smoke grenades in front of the Orks so they could charge the opposing trench. The Savlar Chem-Dogs were furious from the aggression stims they popped before every fight… and Carter and his dad had cooked up the good stuff before this one.

Their berserk charge into the Ork trench would have done a Templar proud… and against all probability, it worked. In more lucid moments after, the Chem-Dogs said that the victory was partly from their impromptu sergeant’s uncompromising push to attack and never yield. It was also partly from that sergeant not getting his fool head blown off as he rushed down the length of the trench to pump it full of flame with an appropriated Ork Burna. Whatever the cause, Imperial reinforcements showed up to drive out the Lootaz, Carter received some shiny medals, and both he and his father were yanked off-world by order of the Inquisition.

His father Reynaud whispered caution and suspicion. Even though Carter was a hero of the moment, even though they knew how to fix the human body and how to muck it up with every chemical in the Imperium… it just didn’t make sense why Inquisitor Kylastis would choose scumbags from an expendable regiment to fill out her retinue. It made more sense when the elderly Inquisitor Kylastis commended on their courage, whispered that she needed their knowledge to save lives, and showed them the Xenos bio-weapon she intended to use on a Tau colony. She just needed them to show her how to turn it on.

“Fear the alien,” Carter heard in his thought and shivered across his arms as he studied the weapon. Over the days, he searched for the trigger sequence while Reynaud made a projection of what the biological and ecological effects would be expected after the weapon was used. The aged Inquisitor Kylastis calmly and warmly welcomed them into her office when they informed her they were successful. Before Carter could begin, Reynaud interrupted… the bio-weapon would kill every Tau on the planet and while leaving ecosystems mostly intact. However, the toxins would linger; human settlers to arrive on that world would suffer from burned lungs, ocular and aural damage, and genetic deformities for at least three generations. Inquisitor Kylastis nodded and said that this was acceptable. Carter leapt in with every argument he could imagine to convince her that in no fething way was this acceptable!

“Sure, my father and I have wrecked a few immune systems in our time,” Carter started. “Those people chose that for themselves, though. Their lives may have even been better off for it; we may have provided better quality of life in this gorram universe of ours. It’s different for those colonists, though… I know how this works and there’s no fething way that the Administratum will tell those colonists what’s going to happen to them and their children when they start living on this world. I like you, Inquisitor, but if we use fething Xenos tech to take this planet then we’re failing Imperium and its people.”

Reynaud looked proudly at his son. The aged Inquisitor's head bobbed as she stated, “Thank you for your honest appraisal.” Her bolt pistol blew Reynaud’s head into so many chunks and gobbets before she turned it back towards Carter. “Now activate that weapon.”

Carter seethed as he input the activation sequence for the bio-weapon… and there was purpose in that rage. He saw that the Inquisitor’s bolt pistol had been holstered the entire time she’d walked with him back the launch bay, the softening of her posture. He would not die today and that would give him the opportunity to have his vengeance. As the shuttle arrived, Carter couldn’t keep his mouth and shut and blurted out, “Why am I not dead?”

The Inquisitor sighed in her grandmotherly way, then chuckled. “Don’t flatter yourself. I owe a favor to the Black Templars warden in the fortress-monastery on Sepulchre IV. That charge you pulled off on Armageddon makes me think you’d be a good fit for them. I don’t believe that luck or the Emperor’s favor makes men triumph. I believe a man’s skills and willpower are what elevates him and yours have proven valuable to the Imperium. If you survive the selection, you’ll be an asset to the Templars… and I hate throwing away assets before they’re provided their full value.”

They both smiled and nodded as Carter swore he’d kill that Inquisitor. Even if he became a Space Marine, even if he fought in crusades and defended the Imperium, he would find a way to rejoin the Inquisition. He would find Inquisitor Kylastis and kill her in his father’s memory. Becoming an Astartes means leaving much of one’s humanity behind, but the drive for vengeance remains.

Carter was anointed as Athalos, Templar knight, and his hatred stayed pure.

In making your submission, kindly note that the mission will occur aboard a derelict Imperial vessel. Inspection and selection will be done on Sunday June 28, 2015.

Ah just realised i never completed a history for Einar. I will set to it tonight.

Hello. How goes the History/Background writing? I count only Chimaera2000 and Braggi with submissions in spoilers.

REPORTING FOR DUTY! (haha, you said doody!) Enjoy some fun background!

Background:

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 256 921.M41

Brothers Julianus, Karthedor and Captain Angemon injured; administered aid, wound sealant and repair cement to armor. They are all steadfast Brothers before the Lion, and I have done all I can for them. They are in the hands of the Emperor now. Julianus is grievously wounded, I fear he may not make it through the night, I've attended to him and will sit in Watch over him until dawn, resting only to pen this short log. My hope is that he returns to us hale and in health. He is fine warrior, and my friend. We were both recruited at the same time.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 257 921.M41

Brother Karthedor and Captain Angemon returned to the front today in full health and fierce spirit, ready to take the fight to the recidivists once again. Captain Angemon was particularly grateful and said he's been watching my progress for some time. He said he has high hopes for me and will see to it that any glory he earns is, in part, attributed to my healing skills. Karthedor praised me as well, swearing he would join me in a drink when this is all over. I look forward to it, as he is a jovial soul and comradely when in his cups.
Julianus has taken a turn for the worse, he will most likely not last through the day. He is fevered, and mutters darkly of the past. Brother Chaplain Teremac prayed over him and whispered soothing words of faith in his ear. At this Julianus' eyes flew open and his breathing grew shallow. I gave him a narcoleptic to ease his distress. When I did, he grabbed me by the arm and drew me close and whispered to me "Aurelian is here! I've seen him!" and then he fell into a deep sleep.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 257 921.M41 (supplemental)

I've asked Brother Chaplain Teremac about "Aurelian" and what that name might mean. He looked at me for a long time (as he always does) and said he was not sure. He excused himself by saying there were reports for the day he was required to submit. He strode off but turned slightly and glanced back at me. He nodded once and then turned and left. Very strange.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 258 921.M41

Julianus' fever holds but does not break. His wounds are healing well but the fever yet rages on. It is as if his soul is afflicted. When he is not under the influence or narcoleptics he rages and tears at his face, opening new wounds. As the drugs take effect he has few moments of lucidity. He has repeated the name "Aurelian" and claims to have seen him again and again. He added that "Aurelian wears the black" and he has even sketched an image of the livery he saw, but that is impossible. The mark Julianus drew is ancient, and from before the Great Betrayal. It is a mark all of us know. It is our own Chapter markings. How could Julianus have seen it? He and I were both initiated into the Chapter well after the Betrayal. Maybe it is just a fever dream. I will search the data looms later for these answers.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 258 921.M41 (supplemental)

The data loom yielded little that was not already known. It stated that Aurelian served as Captain in the 4th Cohort, 1st Legion. When queried about the unit, the loom responded that the entire company was lost due to Traitor Legion engagement near Cypri Mundi. The loom did not reveal the identity of the Traitor Legion (which is odd) and when asked a for additional information on the topic, the drone-servitor evinced a noticeable tic, which devolved into stating >Aurelian and the 4th Company are lost t-<tic-tic-tic-tic>...<. Perhaps Librarian Brother Promethian would know more. He is known for his love of history.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 259 921.M41

I tended to the injured and then hurried on to speak with Brother Promethian. He said he has multiple tactical meetings today but could spare some time for questions. I asked him about Aurelian, the 4th Company and their bitter end. When I asked he tilted his head slightly to the side and smiled. He asked where I came by such information and why I would be asking at this time. I told him all I know, and said it might be the key to curing the imbalance in Brother Julianus' humours. He smiled even more at this and said he knew little more than what was already revealed, but said that I have a quick mind. He said this this was a good thing, and said he expects more from me in the future. He also said that he would look into my questions and try to find an answer. He noted that he would be very busy these next three days but asked me to look forward to speaking again afterward. Brother Julianus' situation holds, and I hope we can formulate a cure quickly. I'm worried that such an imbalance might become permanent if left uncured for too long.

Personal Log, Eremiel, Apothecary, 2nd Co. Ravenwing: Pacification of Tarl 9 262 921.M41

I received an official request from Brother Librarian Promethian to speak tomorrow. It is strange that he would request an official audience with me to speak on a matter that would be considered personal. Truth be told, I'm worried about it. Perhaps I am to be reprimanded for using the data loom for unofficial business. It has been know to happen in the past. I hope not. It is a shameful thing to be officially rebuked.

Here is Brother Tevlarion Kohnnor, Knights Inductor Chapter, Tactical Marine

Knights Inductor

Backstory:

Deathwatch Recruit Selection - Application Form
Subject: Battle-Brother Tevlarion Kohnnor, Knights Inductor 3rd Company, 6th squad.
Reason of Recruitment: 384577th Ordo Xenos (Segmentum Ultima) Levy Requisition OBSERVATIONS: First Levy Requisition demanded of the Knights Inductor, subject volunteered.
Date of Recruitment: 982.M41
Thought for the Day: A fine mind is a blessing of the Emperor - It should not be cluttered with trivialities.

-Service Record-
Homeworld: Aprior Regius, Aprior System, Aprior Subsector, Aprior Sector, Eastern Fringe, Segmentum Ultima.
Date of Birth: 892.M41
Date of Knights Inductor Recruitment: 899.M41
Reason of Knights Inductor Recruitment: exceptional gene-compatibility, early cognitive/physical development.
Duration of Scout Status: 17 years
Notable Actions:

Siege of Bragga: 10th company elements infiltration into ork fortress world. Insertion through drop pod disrupted by enemy AA defense. Subject's squad leader KIA. Subject's squad accomplishes designated main and secondary objectives nevertheless without suffering further casualties, allowing full-scale offensive. Imperial victory shortly achieved.
Knara Prime Pacification: standard civil riots answered by 5 imperial Guard regiments and Knights Inductor demi-company. War stagnates when Chaos influence discovered and Traitor Guard and Astartes join conflict through unknown means. Imperial defeat barely avoided thanks to Knights Inductor counter-offensive deep behind enemy lines, spearheaded by subject's squad. Enemy CO death confirmed and enemy forces disbanded. Knights Inductor leave theater, leaving Imperial Guard forces to clean-up. Subject and only two surviving squadmates are granted Battle-Brother status.

Date of Promotion to Battle-Brother: 907.M41
Notable Actions:

Aketi Campaign: massive Imperial offensive into Aketi Sector, Eastern Fringe, Segmentum Ultima. Involved 134 Imperial Guard Regiments and elements from 14 Adeptus Astartes Chapters, including Knights Inductor. Objective was to reclaim several systems ravaged by Hive Fleet Behemoth in 700.M41
Early Stages: 3rd Knights Inductor Company deployed with battle-barge "Equilibria Bellum" to stop/contain Dark Eldar pirate raids. Subject's squad involved in several boarding actions against Dark Eldar fleet, managing to destroy/disable 4 xenos escort ships and 1 cruiser (identified as the “Sanguine Song”) with minimal casualties.
Main War Theatres: Hive Fleet Behemoth remnant forces engaged. Knights Inductor deployed across Yanic, Xi-Shi, Mylita and Berith Systems. 38% casualty rates. Knights Inductor favoured quick fire-squad actions, multiplying fronts while minimizing the Tyranids' massive numbers advantage. Subject showed great tactical awareness and mastered a range of ultra-flexible tactics in order to mantain his Chapter's trademark guerrila and hit-and-run tactics to the ever-evolving Swarm. 8 synaptic creatures's deaths (mostly warrior genus) confirmed at the subject's hands, adding at least another three dozen indirectly felled by his actions.
Final Stages: Imperial forces threatened by massive Necron sudden awakening, designated as Aketi Dynasty. Tyranid forces suffered the blunt of the new faction's offensive, rendering them almost completely exterminated. Astartes elements coordinated a withdrawal and counter-offensive, identifying and deploying against Necron sensitive spots. Knights Inductor 3rd Company is deployed into a massive underground xeno-complex and scattered when confronted with unexpected resistance and unknown dimensional anomalies. Subject manages to survive for 3 weeks before successfully escaping the complex and arriving at the Company rendevouz point, 47 kilometres away. He transmits valuable enemy intel to the Imperial High Command, earning him an official recognition of courage, which is refused.
-Recomendations-

Brother-Captain Jogion Cedth: Brother Kohnnor is a valuable soldier with a sharp mind. He will serve the Emperor well.
Brother-Chaplain Leotus Simiel: the honour, courage and martial merits of Brother Kohnnor are unquestionable, but then again, the same can be said about most of Astartes in service to Terra. What Kohnnor can provide to His armies is far less common: Tevlarion has an extremely rational mind. He does not let himself be carried away by emotions or feelings. He just observes, evaluates and acts. His learning capacity is awe-inspiring and rarely does he misjudge a situation or makes the same mistake twice. Paired with his adamantine loyalty to Him on Earth, the Imperium and the Chapter, he has the makings of a great warrior. I can only dream of the things he could learn from the Deathwatch and how far he may grow with your help.

Application Status: -APPROVAL PENDING-

Deadline for submissions: June 27, 2015.

But no stats yet. I wanna concentrate on concepts and history.

@Ulf Second Sight:

So you said you do not want us to crunch our stats yet? If we were picked is that when you would have us do that or?

Yes. Character Generation (Stats) will done once you're picked.

So an Iron hands techpriest from the siege of Gantor Terentes(campaign deed The Price of Victory) would be eligible with proper character development?

Einar, feel like buddying up again? I'm trying to think of ideas for a backstory and was going to mention Einar. Cool with you?

Fine by me, I probably won't be posting history until at least tmrw, so i can roll with what you put down.

Because I have had issues with Paizo deleting my posts, here is concept (although more of an idea can be got from his alias), history to follow.

Character Concept:

Einar is a wolf scout, agile and observant, albeit weak for a space marine and far from charismatic. Cursed with a fault in the way his body has accepted the Canis Helix, Einar suffers from albino-ism, although this mutation has been largely accepted within the Vilyka Fenryka it could potentially cause problems with other chapters. Einar's main role is as a forward scout and sniper, although as all good wolf brothers he can hold his own in close combat. Although he prefers the lighter armour of the scout, he does use power armour when required.

Sorry for the delay

History:
born in the Kossenneg ite, to a trader and his wife.Einar inherited his father's ease with people and his mother's blond hair and green eyes. Whilst travelling from ite to ite on a supply run in charge of his father's snowrunner and crew, Einar spotted a distant figure being tracked by group of Lindworms. Ordering the steersman to guide the 'Windrider' into spear range the crew launched their spears bringing the first beast down. Flushed with their success they brought their craft round for another pass, but here it all went wrong. An unseen rock and the 'Windrider's' fate was sealed, the craft crashed into the ice and the crew were thrown clear. Floki was killed instantly, left lying on the red snow and Torfel's leg was sundered. Einar however rallied his crew, leading them back into the fight. Without the 'Windrider' they were at a disadvantage though and the crew quickly fell until Einar and one other fought back to back. Just as they were about to fall from loss of blood, they saw the lone traveller throw of his glamour, revealed as a mighty sky warrior. This mighty warrior in his skull helmet, crashing his lightning rod down upon the beasts' heads was the last thing Einar saw.
Little did Einar know, but this was the Wolf Priest Erik Ironmane and on his sayso, both Einar and his last crewman were accepted into the Space Wolves. Here however the saga changes, the Canos Helix affected Einar differently causing him to become an albino and for his natural charisma to leach away, instead he became more of a loner, although the reaction did make his arm straighter and his eye sharper when it came to shooting. As a result of these genetic defects he spent a lot of time with the wolf priests whilst they assessed him and his mutation, deemed acceptable he found his skills now lay with the wolf scouts and the small teams their craft required. Whilst hunting Orks on Septom VII Einar's life was saved by the devastator Viluf, honour bound to repay the debt, Einar stuck with him and over the campaign they saved each others lives several times, becoming more like pack mates. Therefore when Viluf agreed to join the Deathwatch, Einar could not be persuaded otherwise despite the risk of his mutation being discovered by some of the more puritanical chapters.

Iron hands assault marine

Paizo won't let me post from my computer. I suspect it doesn't like safari. Being chased out to a play by the family but I'll install chrome and post it as soon as I'm back.

The Concept Jist:
The jist is an assault marine who's faced his mortality twice. One at the end of his hummie life and then again during the Siege of Gabtor Terentes against the heretics. This leads to a deeper belief in the weakness of flesh and the criticism of its failures.

I didn't mention which Great Company Einar belonged to, it could be the Grimbloods like Viluf or there could have been another Company on the Planet at the same time. But this is what I got...

Background:
’Blood. Gun smoke. Sweat caked fatigues. Thank Russ the latrines are on the other side of the camp!’ Viluf sat with his back propped against a heavy steel and concrete barricade. His eyes closed, his head resting on the chipped and blood stained chestplate of his armour, he listened to the beat of the planet around him, taking in the sounds and smells of a camp under siege.

He looked up, staring across the trench at a squad of Guardsmen huddling around a brazier for warmth. ’They are holding up a lot better than I hoped,’ They had been bogged down on this s%$+ encrusted hell hole for what felt like months now, waiting for relief as hordes of Green skinned filth swarmed them daily. The Grimbloods were few on the ground, the main forces on this little rock being Imperial Guardsmen with a few auxiliaries.

He stood up slowly, resting the barrel of his Heavy Bolter on the concrete barricade, staring out across the snow covered ground, out towards the killing ground. Beside him he could feel his Wolfbrother rise, turning to stare out at the enemy.

”Another assault before the darkness settles in?”

”Probably, they are being very quiet today.”

”Aye. Strange when the hordes fall silent. Means something bad is coming!”

”Someone mentioned Gargants.”

”Ha! Perfect. See the wreckage of the Speeder out there?”

”See it? I was driving it. Aye, I get your train of thought. Tore up a good chunk of ground. We could make a stand there, if it pleases Russ!”

”Aye!” Viluf clapped the Wolf on the shoulder before signalling to the remains of the squad.

’No point in waiting here to die. Lets go kill us some green skins!’

*****

The myth of the Fire Wolf is one that all Grimbloods are familiar with. The Fire Wolf burns hot with the fires of battle but is not consumed. Viluf holds this myth to heart, his moods often harsh and violent, but only ever skin deep. A large tempestuous brute on the outside, but compassionate and full of the spirit of camaraderie deep down at heart, Viluf puts his Wolfbrothers safety above his own, at all times.

Septom VII took a lot from Viluf, tearing away his pack, before replacing it with one man. Viluf lost his pack during the fighting but encountered another Space Wolf upon the field of battle, pulling the man from the wreckage of a twisted and crushed vehicle. Viluf and Einar became fast friends, saving eachothers lives more than once during the course of the campaign.

By the end of the fighting, Viluf was done. He had no use returning back to the Fang, he would receive no praise there, he was a Lone Wolf now, or would be without Einar at his back. When the campaign ended, he signed up for a tour with the Deathwatch, planning to earn back his honor.

Character Concept:
Viluf is a Space Wolf Devastator who wields a Heavy Bolter. I would love to build him towards Terminator Armour! ;)

Viluf is crass and emotional, sometimes feral. Einar is one of the only people who could ever talk him down.

Iron Hands Assault Marine Dozeph:

Born to a small nomadic clan on Medusa, life posed a continual challenge to Dozeph. The clan, crippled by a lost war, possessed few men and even fewer able bodies. In this deficiency, Dozeph and the other boys found themselves forced against Medusa's unstable surface as the protectors of their clan.

Medusa showed no mercy.

The clan found no shortage of woes. They suffered from earthquakes, lava flows and even raids by other clans, never able to maintain a location for more than a week. This constant retreat weakened the clan, as many members dying to stress and malnourishment as Medusa's cruelty. In time this led the clan to a desparate gambit.

Faced by dwindling numbers and a decaying caravan in need of repairs, the clan turned their eyes upon a fortuitous neighbor. The ground upon which their neighbor settled held firm for over two months and possessed both fertile soils and profittable ores allowing them to grow quickly and buy off any hostilities. Even as the land behind them filled with Medusa's fire, the last members of the clan marched to war.

The battle was short but bloody. The hardships of the smaller clan bolstering their prowess and determination both. They charged against the small barrier protecting the other clan, what weapons they possessed raised high. The gate opened and from the maw came the defenders, easily ten times in number and armed proper. Yet still the attackers came, the knowledge that only lava awaited their return.

They were slaughtered to the man.

By the Emperor's grace Dozeph's eyes openned.

Assault Marine Dozeph cherishes the memory of his death. The day he awoke the apothecaries told him of his fate, of the weakness in his flesh that cut him down. He cared little when they spoke of his collection and of the seven men he'd ended. He only heard the truth of the matter: his flesh was weak and now, now he would become stronger.

During his years as a scout, Dozeph took every opportunity to test himself against his foe. While others sought to disengage their foe, Dozeph stood his ground. Often times this left him crossing his combat knife with the blade of some foul entity.

This trend continued well beyond his initiation as a Battle Brother and found him deep within the heretic charge during the chaos of Gantor Terentes. The battle found his flesh weak once more.

Covering the withdrawl of several Imperial Guard assets, Squad Kopezh found themselves surrounded and cutoff. The squad of eight Astartes cut through a seemingly endless wave of cultists before the daemon appeared. The first witness to the daemon died with a plague sword punched through his throat, corrupting his warning into gurgling vomit. The next parried the first strike before falling to Nurgles Rot, his warning delivered as his body failed.

The remaining six rallied against the new threat and fought a valiant battle. Another two brothers fell to the foul blade before the daemon crossed blades with Dozeph. The two sparred for mere seconds until the las cannon fired. The shot's intended target is unclear but the beam sliced through several cultists and the Daemon's right arm before striking Dozeph's left shoulder. The ceramite cracked under the intense heat and Dozeph's flesh boiled even as the daemon's arm and sword fell. With a cry of outrage Dozeph cleaved the daemon's head in twain.

Yet this victory did not mark an end to the battle. The daemon's defeat gave the cultists pause and allowed the Astartes to recover their dead but only just. Soon the cultists returned, armed to properly engage the Astartes. Another two Brothers were laid low in the explosive filled combat that followed and the survivors, including Dozeph, were pocked with chunks of missing armor and flesh. When the last of the cultists parted with his life only one Astartes remained standing. Lowering his empty heavy bolter, Brother Sarlock aided his broken squadmates in their withdrawl.

Brother Dozeph holds the failings of his brothers as close as his own and strives to drive out the faultiness of his flesh.

@Ulf Second Sight: Eagerly awaiting the results :)

hello guys, i am out of town on business.

but i am reviewing your submissions.

I count seven submissions. But you are all eager for a fight so I plan on admitting all of you. 2 apothecaries is not a problem. You'll need them. Sounds good?

Works for me. :)

Sounds good!

Doomity doom doom. Not sure how to interact with the Knight Inductor but it should be an interesting dynamic.

Sounds good I'll start on the stats crunch then

N.B. character generation use point allocation plus you use starting XP as per Corebook plus an additional 5,000 XP.

what about supplement material

Is it cool if I keep the original Viluf from our last game Ulf, and just upgrade him?

Any starting renown? Looking at Signature gear(master) and hoping for a shield

Ditto Viluf. I can rebuild if you want, but would certainly be easier.
