Is there an AP that didnt apply to?

Nope.

It just depends on what the AP will be and when we find that out then we will see who is delighted, disappointed, sad, intrigued, and/or excited.

It's not just Varisia that I am tired of, I also do not like demons/devils or any of there lords or gods. I wish they made Pazuzu a deity(CN or N) and not a demon lord. I really wish they made Dagon an old one instead of a demon lord as well. I am much, much, much, more interested in the Distant Worlds, Arcadia, Tian Xia, Garund, Sarusan, Vudra, and Azlant. I am really interested in Hermea and wouldn't mind seeing APs for Kyonin, Five Kings Mountains, Jalmeray, Absalom, Nex, Mana Waste, Land of the Linnorm Kings, Realm of the Mammoth Lords, or the Sodden Lands. Even though it is in/around Varisia, I am curious about Peridot Isle.

Well make the changes then - Demon lords are worshiped and have deity-ish powers. Who is to say the actual difference is that the demon lords are bound by a separate pact - and the biggest difference between them and other deities is the pact of non-intervention?

That brings up a nice progression for how a deity can die for your world fyi - and explains Aroden's death neatly. If the only functional difference between the 'no-stats' and 'stats' version is that the rest of the gods take away the penumbra of power that they share to protect themselves - it also explains why so many are willing to stay un-involved directly.

As to Dagon - you know it's entirely possible that his demon lord incarnation is just an avatar of the old one. :) Run with it that's what makes the game so awesome is that you can take cool ideas like that and make them your own.

Liberty's Edge

I really wanna go back to Darkmoon Vale, if not in an AP, then at least in a module. I like that region way more than Varisia.

James Jacobs wrote:

Hmm, I wonder if this is a silent hint at the involvement of a certain race starting with gob...

While goblin's are cool and might be useful in the early stages a whole AP based on goblins ? seems a little unlikely especially on the heels of one based on giants. However I certainly wouldn't be surprised if goblin"s were involved in an AP in the early stages They are after all Paizo's mascot creature.

If the AP is goblin orientated, it could be based in Isger.

The only way I would be interested in a goblin focused AP if they have a new type of goblin each volume with at least two of them being playable 0HD races;)

Why? Was anyone left alive there?

Interesting. It wouldn't just have to be goblins, though- it could be focused around all goblinoids: goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears. Maybe something to do with fallout from the Goblinblood Wars?

could there be a darkland version of goblinoids?

It's not about goblins.

And a good example of why I have to be super concise and careful about the words I say on topics like these. Because [REDACTED], obviously.

Darkland version(s) of goblinoids, why not, they have darkland versions of everything else;)

"Redacted" is an anagram of "Red cat Ed", so it's obviously going to be about a catfolk called Ed who starts a communist movement across Golarion. It's a sequel to Reign of Winter. Obviously.

("Redacted" is also an anagram of "dad erect", but the less said about that the better.)

Note that he didn't say it wasn't about catfolk...

Catfolk AP based in the River Kingdoms - confirmed!

Dark Archive

As a refugee from Planescape, I would most like to see a Distant Worlds AP, with James Sutter on point.

Alternatively, an AP that explains what happened to Aroden, whatever the setting.

So first let's count how many times each letter is used.

Letter count:

A xxxxx xxxxx x = 11
B xxxxx x = 6
C xxxxx x = 6
D xxxxx x = 6
E xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx = 15
F xx = 2
G xx = 2
H xxxx = 4
I xxxxx xxx = 8
J
K x = 1
L xxxxx x = 6
M x = 1
N xxxxx x = 6
O xxxxx xxxxx xxxx = 14
P xxx = 3
Q
R xxxx = 4
S xxxxx xxxxx = 10
T xxxxx xxxx = 9
U xxxxx x = 6
V xx = 2
W xx = 2
X x = 1
Y xxx = 3
Z

This gets us 11, 6, 6, 6, 15, 2, 2, 4, 8, 1, 6, 1, 6, 14, 3, 4, 10, 9, 6, 2, 2, 1, 3.

Changing these to letters we get K F F F O B B D H A F A F N C D J I F B B A C

Using the spaces above turns this into KFFOBBDH AFAFNC DJIFBBAC

We then unscramble them to make the words Kbboffdh Fancaf Bacbijd.

And we obviously have the next AP.

Hmm, another tip, red-acted? Curse of the Crimson Opera, perhaps?

Darn, James, you're spoiling all the fun, giving away such obvious tips ...

going backt to the original hint 'gobsmacked' and the additional hint that it is not about goblins, it is time to focus on the 'smacked' part which obviously refers to Smacks, a sweetened puffed wheat breakfast cereal. The mascot of that product is an anthropomorphic frog...

It absolutely has to be a Grippli based AP

Or a Muppet based AP;)

Miss Piggy Turned into a giant Kaiju Hog runs rampant over the innocent people of Absalom with her Frog Consort Kermit leading the way. Only the heroes can save the city from being overwhelmed and give the city tons of Bacon and frog legs. :)

Maybe it's an AP all about everlasting gobstoppers (they're everlasting because of fast healing, you know).

MISTER MCCREARY WHAT MUST I DO TO BE AN AUTHOR ON THIS AP!

I will send scotch, tee-shirts, European pastries, anything! I won't pay you for the privilege, but I will think long and hard about it (before I make a voodoo doll of you).

I will even work with Hillman if I must!

Somehow befits your avatar.

Maybe we'll see an AP set in the distant past of Golarion where humanoids are battling the spreading of humans.

Age of Serpents would be good for that. The height of the Azlanti war with the Serpentfolk.

Me like.

I'm still eagerly awaiting GMing City of Thousand Fangs Below from Serpent's Skull AP.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

We are spelling it wrong.

it is Nex AP, not Next AP. ;)

The Exchange

Next AP is definitely going to be an all female, all dwarf campaign centering on societal maneuvering in an underground city. It will be loosely based on the story and themes of "Sex and the City", with the villain being an incubus into SM stuff.

Most of the campaign will be composed of feel good moments of bonding and companionship. It will come with its very own original theme music (provided as downloadable files or on good ol' fashioned CDs).

Or, it might be an AP about some big bad guy out to do something nasty and a bunch of sword wielding homicidal maniacs who oppose him.

New guess: underwater treasure hunting near Sargavia. Pathfinder Tales: Beyond the Pool of Stars give this away.

In the past there has been a novel that ties to the the AP.

If they are doing a "sex in the city" AP then Sarah Jessica Parker would be more of a half-orc then a dwarf.

It is less then a week away before we find out what the next AP will be.

From what I've seen I think the next one James works on may be set in Taldor or Qadira (or both), focusing on the conflicts between the Cult of the Dawnflower and Sarenrae's more mainstream faithful, with the PCs working to gather allies and thwart the Cult's ambitions for war with Taldor. James has mentioned this issue as something it'd take an AP to tackle, and it sounds like he's interested in telling that story soon, especially since Sarenrae's one of his favorite deities (and his own creation, to boot).

Dwarven Warriors Against Rioting Fey?

I've never known fey to riot.

It's usually more of a hubbub or a fracas. If they're especially incensed, it might even be a hullabaloo. Never seen fey riot, though.

Of course not, because the secret organisation D.W.A.R.F. is very effectively eliminating rioting fey BEFORE you can see them.

Isn't that the point?

Silver Crusade Contributor

Hm.

Fair enough. ^_^

Obviously not secret agents.

Tax agents perhaps, dwarves were always really into the whole gold and gems fad during the Tolkien era.

tax agents? Dwarfen Warriors Against Riches and Fortune?

Doesn't sound like dwarves, that's more of a stick in the mud thing for those tree molesting elves's:-D

Well were sure this next AP will be an experiment, right? but what kind of experiment will it be, an exotic locale or a place in the Inner Sea that needs new rules to be used?

So think of places in the Inner Sea that might need new rules to be used in an AP.
