Does anyone know how to determine the random starting ages for the ACG classes?
Do you just go off one of the Parent Classes or will this get errata'd later?

Until we get an official response (assuming we haven't gotten one in another thread and I missed it), I'd probably go with the more complex of the two parent classes. This would put it at:

Intuitive: Bloodrager

Self-Taught: Shaman, Skald, Slayer, Swashbuckler

Trained: Arcanist, Brawler*, Hunter, Investigator, Warpriest

*-- I could see someone theoretically making a case for putting the Brawler at self-taught.

I'd definitely peg Brawler and Hunter as Self-Taught, and maybe Shaman as Intuitive.

The iconic hunter seems like a self-taught.

I could see Slayer as trained, given the class's Iconic.

well going off the hybrids of the parent classes. Skald is a bard and barbarian, I might put him in Intuitive.

Shaman is a witch/oracle …self taught seems right. Slayer… ranger/rogue…self taught seems appropriate, although I could argue for trained easily (class is massively OP IMO…I like it don't get me wrong, I just think it crossed the line…someone who could do this stuff would probably need to go to a specialized academy and not get out until they were 30!)
Swashbuckler comes off as OP to me too….I would argue as trained.

Brawler? the reeks of intuitive , but at least self-taught, and hunter I can't see as trained… maybe because druid is listed as such?…Warpriest seems kinda self taughty as well…not as 'formal' as the cleric.

The very idea of a skald means that self-taught shouldn't be possible. That class is trained as trained can be.

The Bard it's self is in Self-taught Land.

The Skald is a less intense, more wild and loose version of the Bard.

Averaging Intuitive barbarian with a self-taught bard would not make a trained skald.

Dark Archive

Okay, but skalds are not just half barbarian half bard anymore. A skald becomes one because they were immersed in their tribe's history. As a chronicler and a lore keeper, I really think trained makes the most sense for them.

So, any official answer?

Not as of yet, no.

Is there an official ruling on starting ages for hybrid classes from the Advanced Class Guide?

Thanks,

Not as far as I know.

Add the ages of the parent classes together and take the average, then add in the random die-rolls for the parent classes divided by two.

Actually, you're probably better off with the suggestions above.

(I'd say Hunter and Brawler should both be in the self-taught category, to add to the others in that chorus.)

I too have come up with something similar, however, I would like to know the Official Paizo ruling.

Bump. And since we got occult class, hope we get the starting age for the new added classes as well.

Scarab Sages

Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, PF Special Edition Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

It would be nice if the boilerplate at the start of each class description included which Random Starting Age column to use, as suggested here.

Two useful questions could be:
Does the character choose his path in life, or does he just finds himself into it?
Does he act alone, or does he need an organized structure? (Witches and investigators could be a little borderline here)

So I'd say something like this...

Intuitive: Bloodrager, Kineticist, Medium
Self-Taught: Brawler, Hunter, Investigator, Mesmerist, Occultist, Shaman, Skald, Spiritualist, Swashbuckler, Vigilante
Trained: Arcanist, Psychic, Slayer, Warpriest

Any consensus yet?
