Looking for High Level PFS GM for Gameday 3

Recruitment

The Exchange

My group and I, all 17th level, are looking for a GM to run the last Mod of Reign of Winter as a PFS Gameday 3 game. We are all experienced players and have been playing together for quite some time. Our posting frequencies are moderate to high so there shouldn't be an issue with completing it.

We would highly apprciate someone helping us out. Thanks and good gaming!

Bump.. Noone interested in running a high level game?

I could run this under the promise that I get a spot in some kind of PFS AP for at least one book, but to qualify for free game day, it has to be registered by a certain date oct 22 which has already passed. Which means I would have to pay just to send you pfs sheets and report them? Or does that mean the AP is free for the DMs?

Edit: I'm a collector of pathfinder APs as I plan on owning all of them eventually, except kingmaker, as I don't have this book yet, but if I do DM it, I'll have it fast shipped, so expect it to start 2-4 days late as Amazon is pretty good about getting stuff to me quickly.

And yes, I do know PFS rules and core book rules, though I do eventually forget a pathfinder rule every once in a while, so feel free to correct me. Like if an enemy magic missiles you around the corner, feel free to remind me that it has to still see you to magic missile you.

I wasn't aware of the timeline for the Gameday 3.. It wasn't a necessity that we make it one anyways. With that in mind we can do it like a normal pfs pbp.. Have you ran any high level games before?

I'm running one now, people in my Mummy's mask are level 12 and we hope to take it to level 20, book 4 is what we are on. I can't promise you the monsters will be tough, because I don't know how to optimize tactics with pregenerated characters which is what monsters are for the DM. Like if the enemy is a wizard, I'm the kind of players that goes for damaging spells, and a lot of players that know how to optimize would say damaging spells aren't always the best. so if I have a long list to choose from, and the morale does not say the enemy casts what first, say one is burning hands and another is a spell that makes players go through rough terrain, and another raises all saving throws by 2, I'd likely pick burning hands, unless I had a good reason too pick other spells which I have done.

If I do DM this, someone would have to run a book from one of the other Reign of winters for me for credit, or one book from rise of the runelords for credit, or one book from Jade Regent or shattered star, or one of these modules: mask of the living god, city of golden death, (I completed crypt) or dawn of the scarlet sun or risen from the sands. Or the emerald sphire dungeon. Yes, I do drive a hard bargain, but I have certain things on my completion list I'm interested in completing and getting credit for, everything else is secondary for me to get my characters up to level, get them gold, just to have fun etc.
And though good storytelling is not required, an effort to actually tell a story would be appreciated. One of those books for PFS credit is all that is needed.

Like i said before we are all 17th level so the monsters would be mostly in the cr 16-20+ range if i had to guess.. If ur not comfortable being in that level of play probably should not do it. We're the ones that get burned if things dont finish..

I would do it, I'm just giving fair warnings as a DM. It would be fun and easy for me, just letting people know that it might not be as challenging as if a professional DM controlled the monsters, not that the fights will be easy for you all, and I've controlled at least 10 or more monsters in a single combat. I am able to keep things moving and go through things fast and even outside the combats, I'll make sure to use spoilers for skill checks. I'm just saying, if I manange to finish in time, which I likely will, I am asking for a small favor in return. True Neutral, real life aligned person. A Neutral good person would do it for free.

And considering I only have to run the sanctioned portion, the game goes even faster, which means running only like half the book, and I'm able to get through a whole ap book dming it without rushing people in 2.5 months. I'm also getting better at the roleplay part as a DM, but I'm not a professional at adding flavor text and all.

I'm waiting on 2 of our players responses but at a glance we're probably gonna let you have a shot at it if you wish. With missing the gameday thing we have no set time in which it has to be finished just as long as it's finished. The group is fairly min/maxed so dont feel bad if we steamroll most encounters..

Ill get back to you for sure once i hear from the others.

Thanks, my NPCs dropping like flies doesn't bother me at all, if it doesn't bother the players. It doesn't bother me either if the battle lasts a long time either as long as it doesn't bother the players either.
