Question regarding the "special ability of another class"

If that ability scales with level, is that still allowed, or does it need to be a static ability?

The game is still in play, the new players have not joined us yet, still working on backgrounds and crunches. You could put something together and possibly join us when you have it put together.

What are the build requirements/restrictions of the campaign?

7th level Gestalt character with one template CR 2 or below.
7th level character with two templates both CR 2 or below.
Monstrous race with 4 HD, and 3rd level gestalt character.
Monstrous race with 2 HD, and 5th level gestalt character.
Or a mixup of the options above.(Is it this)

Any role the guild is missing? Even at level 7 with gestalt and a template I could probably do something stupid like a mummy lord dhampir commander/juju oracle with a something like 100HD+ of undead, a master summoner/something else who spams summons, a cleric/wizard dwarf crafter, the enchanter from the kitsune build or even something weird like half shadow demon possessed sorcerer/fighter who has demonic/improved possession to steal peoples bodies.


A role we do not have is healer. Though, that said, I'm not sure if we need need one. Simply, we don't have one.

Honestly though, play a character that you won't get bored with quickly.

What are the gimmicks of the current characters, just to make sure I don’t overlap too much with them


Desseer is mind affecting specialist
Myriana is a straight forward arcanist, is focusing on flavor, rp
Ink is a sneaky, disguisey striker with some fun rp of starting a religion
The GM has some GMPCs that wait in the wings.

Desseer has two companions; one is disguisey, the other is a sneaky striker
Myriana has a witch companion


Myriana was initially a vampire as well and her build was initially leaning into that. Due to story she has managed to shed her vampiric portion and remain a fey/catfolk arcanist with a nymph theme going on.

Second question anything banned/ third party allowed? Sumukhi has not entered gameplay yet.

The player's parents were game developments on the game. She is a uber fan of the old Disney animated show, Gargoyles, and her character is a chimeric combination of a Disney-style gargoyle, harpy and medusa.

I have not finished her backstory yet.

Seth86's Skärbründ is another PC that has joined the PBP.

Also do we get cohorts/minions? Like do I essentially make 3 characters? I ask because from the players tab I see like a ton of characters

So just spitballing here for GM consideration: my build will likely be one of the following:

Mummy lord dhampir cruomancer 7// Juju(the old one) oracle 7 focusing on just pure animate dead potential. Or maybe if mummy lord is unavailable something like one of the dread undead for some sort of spawn creating ability

Or

Half succubus kitsune crossblooded sorcerer(undead/serpentine)// thassalian specialist wizard for all arcane mind control

Or
Half invidiak(shadow demon) possession sorcerer//fighter 7 with demonic/improved possession to magic jar my enemies

Or
For summoning: (good) half celestial human celestial commander summoner//celestial bloodline sorcerer
(Evil) half succubus drow master summoner// abyssal bloodline sorcerer

Basically something that lets me choose different types of creatures to use every battle so I probably won’t be bored

Alternatively something like wizard/witch, wizard/ arcanist or sorcerer/ oracle could also be fun just for the sheer number of spells

Disclaimer for all that follows: I want you to play whatever character you are going to enjoy playing for a prolonged period of time. So, if my thoughts go against what you want, go with what you want.

I made my mechanical character from the lens of a player playing an mmorpg with the idea of being a part of a team in a raid. The role that Desseer would play is battlefield control (namely add control). The other aspects have purposes as well. Disguised casting to prevent the mechanic of provoking and to not alert NPCs to my casting in town, as well as for the same benefits in pvp. Detect thoughts to get more information out of NPCs to get easter eggs and hints about boss fights. Will of the Dead to reduce the enemies I can't affect.

Personally, I would encourage that approach for others.

Don't forget your Real World persona here. It comes into play as well.

As for play style, Ink is insidious and unnassuming. Using his real-world skills in his gaming, he sees strength in the weaker class.


How is an improving template, like half-celestial, handled? It’s anywhere from +1 to +3 depending on hit die of the creature it’s applied to. At the starting level it’d be +2, does that mean it’s allowed?

Could two +1 templates be taken instead of one +2?

5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 2, 3) = 13-1=12
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 1, 1) = 16-1=15
5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 4, 6) = 21-3=18
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 4, 2) = 18-2=16
5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 2, 3) = 11-1=10

Not great rolls, given 4 dice. But I can work with that.


I'll roll stats too. I know I'm going to play as a Kineticst, but I'm uncertain what the other side will be currently.

5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 3, 2) = 19-2 = 17
5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 1, 4) = 13-1 = 12
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 4, 5) = 19-3 = 16
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 6, 6) = 24-2 = 22 godamn
5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 3, 1) = 9-1 = 8
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 2, 5) = 16-1 = 15

So, 22, 17, 16, 15, 12, 8... that's a generally very strong stat spread, with a heck of a range.

Toying around with material now, and I would like to know what Firearms are allowed for potential build.

22 of a stat feels too important to sacrifice to a 1PP Kineticist.


There might be con based casters in spheres if you want to hyper focus on one stat and be a kineticist.


The Orc Witch Archtype uses Con for spells if you arent a spheres guy

Scarred Witch Doctor, you mean? That got errated to only being a +2 to your Intelligence instead of being full Con-based.

All firearms are accepted.

Also I may have said no to spheres earlier but if you want to you may go that route.
