Actually, a proper "shipwreck-> figure out where in blazes you are-> start building the infrastructure to either get home or survive where you are" story could be cool.

Souls for Smuggler's Shiv was my favorite part of Serpent's Skull, and building on a shipwreck as the opening of an AP and turning it into Robinson Crusoe meets Sinbad the Sailor meets Kingmaker...

Ye, the "get shipwrecked and make new home for yourself in new place" thing sounds cool, though would be really hard to get new characters for players. Well besides locals that is.

Other survivors of the shipwreck/shipwrecks?

Stranded on a mysterious island with strange people - LOST! ;-)

I'm still going to bang the drum for a gladiator themed AP, but I realize that there are multiple difficulties in getting it to work.

However an underwater themed AP is a much more viable product line. For starters, you have an entirely open underdeveloped area to work with. It's still on Golarion, but an area of the sandbox that is almost completely untouched. Almost anything you can think of can be placed here at the moment and the opportunity for follow up adventures and supporting paraphernalia is absolutely immense.

If done right, the AP sets the stage for exploration of this "undiscovered world". Then the guides, bestiaries, and pawns associated with it contribute to the revenue stream and heartily encourage continued exploration of its cold mysterious depths.

Just please don't use "Under the sea" as the title or place any pineapples on the sea floor.

An entire AP under water would be a good excuse to play as aquatic races.

Druma is an area with a distinct culture and not much in the way of canonical information. I'd quite like to see that fleshed out a little.

I wouldn't mind seeing something with Ravenloft-esque themes of horror and madness. (Strange Aeons is a great dip into horror and madness, but it's not quite the same lol)

Plus, they could work out a way to provide maps that somehow work on every axis! I mean, if you're going to be fighting under water, you'll not have to worry about that silly x-axis only, but the y-axis too! Need to figure out a better way of doing that on these maps other than clear dice containers flipped upside down! =D

They are already going to need this for Starfinder anyway. Doing a "test run" of a proposed 3D combat system in an underwater AP before Starfinder launches gives them a chance to make and revise whatever system they come up with. It also gives them a chance to tweak the system for playability and fun factor a long time before launch.

Kingmaker set a great number of the building rules for Ultimate Campaign. If done right an underwater AP could very well set the bar for space combat in Starfinder.

Carrion Crown is already the semi-Ravenloft homage.

Indeed! Other than some oblique references to 'dietary and sexual restrictions' and that they love them some money, we really know very little about the Kalistocracy, and some AP articles might be a great way to flesh them out (since I'm not sure they'd warrant a 64 page volume any time soon).

The area's got strong ties to the Five Kings mountains, dwarves in general, the mysterious Lake Encarthan and 'Isle of Terror,' the church of Abadar, Kyonin, Razmiran, etc. and so has a ton of interesting directions it can go.

Liberty's Edge

Oh my almost time to start the new edition of this thread. We know of Ironfang Invasion (meh). Once we hear the next one in a couple days it'll be time to start the 2018/19 thread :). Time does fly.

Here's hoping for Arcadia!

Yeah, we are going to find out what AP is after Ironfang this weekend:)

Liberty's Edge

ARCADIA!!!! I hope

I hope for a lot of things, doesn't mean I will get any of them though. At least if I am not interested I can just skip it.

If it is not set in Varisia in honor of the 10 year anniversary I will be surprised. That being said I would like to see it set somewhere other than Inner seas region but I'm not holding my breath on that.

Liberty's Edge

Varisia is always fun but I'd love to see somewhere outside of the Inner Sea.

Well, I'll make sure to sign back up so as to offset your skipping it. ;)

Another visit to varisia would be fantastic. It's the heart and soul of the setting. My favourite place on golarion.

As much as I love Distant Worlds, The Great Beyond, Distant Shores, Arcadia, Azlant and other weird places, Varisia is like that on and off lover whom you keep falling in every time she walks into the bar and says "Hi, darling, missed me?".

I've already mentionned the Underwater AP, but another place I would love to see an AP would be the Realm of the Mammoth Lords.

Of the 3 "core" Northern Kingdoms (Linnorm King, Irrisen and Realm), it's the only one without any (or very little) information (the 2 other have their own Campaign setting Book).

There's so much potential with the various Neighbour (Irrisen, the Worldwound, Belkzen), The Earthnavel, the rumored dinosaur of Tusk Mountain...all in all there's a lot of potential there.

Mammoth Lords would be cool, but for my money its Iobaria!!!!!!

walter mcwilliams wrote:

There's nothing preventing a compbination of both...after all you can go from one to the other via the Crown of the World and thus avoiding the Worldwound and Brevoy. :)

I have to admit that Varisia make sense for the 21st AP.

At the time the AP after Ironfang Invasion comes out it will have been five years since the last visit to Varisia.

Or you can say it like this: there have been as many APs between the first and most recent Varisia APs than there will be between that most recent Varisia AP and the upcoming AP after Ironfang Invasion. So it's not like it's all Varisia all of the time.

I had planned to strictly get it in the pdf form (as that's how I run things mostly these days) but... I gotta say that's a beautiful deluxe edition.

I think I'm on board for that.

But James Dean is dead.

Unless Aboleth faked his death...

Are we getting underwater ap? :O

Authors for part 3 and 4 seem missing/incomplete. Have to investigate.

Gorbacz wrote:

Yep. The developer said at the panel that the AP will be a mix of underwater and land adventures. A total of about 1/3rd of the AP will be underwater. Players will be underwater for part of an adventure, then back on land, then underwater, etc.

Should be fun and reveal a lot about Azlant!

Crossing my fingers that City in the Deep is Ulat Kini... but any old menacing Aboleth city will do.

They're letting Thursty wrap it up? Oh dear...

You misunderstand, he's gonna put us down. Hard.

Or our characters anyway.
