Oh, duh. Every time I've seen that item, I've tried to figure out why it has the powers it has. I just now realized that one particular word in the item's name was referring to a particular monster. Now it makes perfect sense.
You...you're new, aren't you?
I like you, little item. I think I'll keep you. Pretty much every time.

I survived the cull. Woot!
wow... approaching 900 votes and see something I KNOW I haven't seen before... and its actually kinda kewl
Decent quirky item with just a minor nitpick. 2d anything can never give you one.

Cool. The dream item I like made it past the cull.
Oh, you clever item, you. I thought from your name and your description that you were going to do something far too open-ended, but then you supplied some tight mechanics to make it all work. Well done.
It feels like the average wordcount is higher post-cull. But I have absolutely no data for that.
Makes sense, the poorly formatted missing parts are probably near the bottom and the short items that might have been nice for a book a magic items but not super star quality are probably gone as well.
oooh nice, I think I would change it from a pair, but this is really cool effect.
And to that other recent item(s) that comes in a pair, well played :)
simple, small and effective, and well written!
No Bra that fires magic missiles 3 times a day? Ridiculous! Where have all the good joke items gone too? (laughs) its the 8th only a few more days left!
I am happy to see one or two of the items I love pass cull. Now if I can only find mine. (sigh)
Have a good Wed folks.
Ok, I've had it with you items inspired by The Mummy. I will now watch The Mummy while voting. There, happy now? Stop being so evocative already!
P.S.: I really want to play an eqyptian adventure now.
Two more months to Mummy's Mask?

I just had a really tough vote. Two items I had not seen before. Both had a real spark and interesting effect to them. One and a pretty bad run on sentence and a little wonky mechanics and the other had some unnecessary or out of place thematic fluff to it (and seemed to be confusing its terms). I kind of just closed my eyes and clicked one.
I just love this item, had a couple friends run into it before and I could not wait to get to upvote it. It really stacked up to its reputation.

Two new items for me too - actually took me 10 minutes of research on the spells used before I could decide which pipped the other. Well done both of you, you are sure to get lots of up-votes when you are not vying against each other.
Oh, thanks everyone on my review circle for letting me know my item is alive and well post cull. It seems the Paizo Server Random Number Generator is letting everyone see it but me - again! >.<
Awesome item was awesome. Instant Favorite!
*eyes*
Now you ... I want to know the inspiration behind you.
Yay! My favorite item is still alive!

Oh man. I know this is could be a joke item, and it certainly is a close rip off of a 3.0 item, but I love it. Probably will not make it to the end, but I would love to play a character built around this item.

Since this is the praise thread, I'd like to say how cool Paizo is for doing a great RPG Superstar every year. A lot of really cool items that look like they're submitted by younger players (younger age-wise and gaming years wise, I've been gaming about 25 years). A lot of players are getting experience writing up items, and getting great experience thinking about how a specific item would work in a specific encounter. A fair number of items are pretty situational (at least before the cull), which requires a kind of creativity that should be encouraged. A lot of items that didn't make the cull were probably submitted by players who will write up better items next year, and probably write better material for their games after this experience. Great job Paizo!
Ah, now I'm seeing some REAL inspired items. I'm shakin' in my boots! :D
I got to vote on my favorite item a third time! 281 words of sheer enthusiasm. Very well done sir or madam!
Still haven't seen mine post cull :(
As of last night, I have a full 32 items in my keep folder.

I just saw mine... Wow, So I survived after all! Thank you!
I'm seeing many new items now, and most of them are good!
An item that I like but didn't think would make it past the cull just showed up. Go, little non-combat item, go!
That is an interesting item. More surprising is that I've seen another, and from comments there may be more. Wasn't expecting to see multiple mannequins.

Wait this is the positive thread...

I know I'm hitting the good part of the contest when the items are both so good, I have to decide based on which designer's monster I think would be more interesting.

Monster?
Which contest are you voting on?
EDIT:
Oh wait, I get it now.
This one will be fun at the table: boom!

I await the one among us who admits the other item was better than our own and they down-voted their own creation. ;)

It doesn't seem that far-fetched to me. I've seen my item exactly once (pre-cull), and it was paired with something pretty poor. On the other hand, I have seen at least a dozen items that I will absolutely vote for over my item.
By far the most likely outcome, though, is that I'll never see my item again, as I probably won't get past star voter.
About 60 votes ago, I started tracking all items I saw post-cull. If you want to know if I've seen it, PM me. If I haven't, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Wait this is the positive thread... If that references an item ability, there is another one I haven't seen. I picked the one I saw post-cull over another decent item. Not sure I would have if it came alive. That is always "Nice to meet you, Rose - run for your life!"

Really looking forward to seeing and capturing more items. This is like getting a free magic item compendium.
I know that's something Ryan Costello and Perram talk about on their Know Direction podcast. They thoroughly enjoy Superstar season because it gives them a bunch of cool new items, monsters, etc., for free. :)
Which is the beauty of it - it keeps the community rejuvenated in the system on a yearly basis!
Utterly brilliant!

And now I've seen a new Torc which utterly redeems the surplus of Torcs this year.
I want to congratulate who ever made he Torc that does what I wanted my Torc last year to do, you pulled it off!
