Saw my item once, about one item about 5 times, finally had to vote for it, If something is posted wrong, it has to go
Well, placed a bunch of votes (quite a few) and the duplicates start showing up, even pitting one item I already read and voted on versus another one of those... and then there is the 60 seconds cooldown...
I understand why that's needed, to avoid spamming of votes without reading, to dissuade the dishonest among the voters, but still, it turns me off... the voting takes too long, although I really want to do my part in this!
meh... just meh...
Many of the items seem to have pricing issues. Way too cheap or way too expensive. Strange!
On a sidenote, some of the entries... nice... others... well, not! :-)
Haven't seen a Superstar Item yet though.

But why a whole minute and not like 30 seconds.
Lots of [b] stuck in titles too. Ouch on first impressions. But I can't judge I wore a onesie to my job interview.
Ugh...just like last year, so many items that would only be used by awful, awful people. SO. MUCH. BLOOD.

This item... I don't even.... it's so expensive but doesn't really do anything...
WHOA. With that kind of bonus, and that kind of damage, no matter the circumstances, this item should not be anywhere near this cheap.

Wait, this item is not cursed? With that name and those negatives?
I've looked at a lot of items so far, and I don't think I've seen more than 1 or 2 that I could even imagine in the top 32. I don't know how representative the sample is, and I still see new ones pretty regularly, but so far I feel like this year's crop is weaker than last year's.

Blecch. Wall of text (learn to paragraph, plz) vs cursed item. Wall of text won as it made me laugh.

Now that would be a good joke item.

Seems like a good candidate for a "joke item" thread. :P

Haven't seen a Superstar Item yet though. But why a whole minute and not like 30 seconds. Maybe it could go down to 30 seconds once you hit star or dedicated voter? Afterall, at that point you're almost certainly seeing a lot of items you've seen before and often don't need to read them...
Azouth wrote: Manimal wrote: Wait, this item is not cursed? With that name and those negatives? Not cursed you can take it off, don't know why you would put it on. I guess if you want to read "cursed" as only the technical definition, then you're correct.

I seem to recall that they reduced the wait time toward the end of voting last year. I could be imagining things, though—it's late.
Hmm, haven't seen this cursed item yet. Like, it seriously doesn't do anything beneficial?
ARGH. Including a "price to pay" for using an item is not a good way to reduce the cost of the item or the power (unless the "price to pay" is really clever). Most of the time, it's just lazy writing.

Turning in for the night. Stats so far: 169 votes, 249 unique items, 16 likes (2 strong keeps, 2 weak keeps), 2 items I always vote against.
For recurring themes, I've seen 15 gloves, 4 amulets, and 2 gauntlets; 5 torcs and 3 crowns; 6 items that are or eat eyeballs; 12 cloaks; 6 lanterns and 1 lamp; 2 rings; 4 soup generators; and 3 face-removing items. Of all these items, only 2 are on my likes list.

For these 2 minor buffs.
Look, if you want to change your character or retrain, just talk to your GM.
Oh look - I got one of the centaur items.

So many summoning items and items which give the user poison based attacks!

Just spotted a fantastically evocative item that had hardly any mechanics. Can't help but like it anyway.
The other item was a dagger so it was a pretty easy choice.

I have to say I have only seen Filigree twice and the annoying repetitive things this year have been a lot less repetitive than last year over all I think.
I know it has been discussed before, but did anyone ever actually figure out about how many submissions are turned in each year?
And there was the 1,800,000 gp item
I'm yet to run across that fabled item :(
