Hey all, I'm very happy to see PBP games getting some organization. I see a lot of GMs I recognize from the paizo online campaign boards, so I know this will be great.

I myself have signed on to run Citadel of Flame, and am tempted to add another.

2/5

Thanks for all your hard work Joseph! I'll check back on Warhorn Sunday or Monday. I wouldn't mind playing in a game as well!

As for subtiers, should we just wait to see what player signups we get?

Shadow Lodge

Thanks for the good works Joseph. No great stress on timing. Let us know if we create problems poking and prodding at the work-in-progress.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

First let me say thank you. Looks good, and something a ot of us have been asking for, for some time.

I've registered to GM
(PFS 01-07) Voice in the Void (1st-7th) <probably best scenario ever>
&
(PFS 04-19) The Night Marches of Kalkamedes (1st-5th).

Not that big of a deal, but would it be possible to add the ability when registering to DM what sub-tiers of play are being offered to be run. I would think that this might really help to have established early on, and if there are players out there that may see the same game run more than once, would find it really helpful to decide which they might like to join in on.

Two other things that might be of great benefit to be able to include for us DM's early on. 1.) the ability to enter a few sentences about the game, specifically for quick viewing during the registration process (such as out general expectations, posting rate, etc.) The other, would be a small subsection of the game's site, (basically something like "Also using Google Drive for maps and pictures".

A few thing about previous posts;
I was able to register for both my games without issues. I registered each individually, but used the same info except for the scenario.

I didn't see anything about time slots? (why would there be time slots for PbPs?)

I'm also having a little difficulty finding the Warhorn event. Anyone have a link?

Sovereign Court 5/5

Link?
Here.
https://warhorn.net/events/pfs-pbp-online-gameday/schedule/2013/10/05

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Cool, that worked. I'm not sure, but I didn't see this in the events, and even searching for "PFS", "Pathfinder", "PbP GameDay", and similar things didn't bring it up, or I just really failed my Perception check. It might just be that my games hadn't been entered yet, too, which was what I was looking for. :)

Edit, actually, after clicking on the link itself, it takes me back to the screen I'd seen before, not found, or no events listed. Odd. But I have the link saved, which works. :)

For the record, add me to the list of people who are appreciative of the support PbP is getting.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

I wasn't really aware there was an Online Team.

What a great idea!

I just signed up to run 00-01 Silent Tide and as a player under FurtiveZoog's Mwangi (I hope). Is there a way to tell on the Warhorn site who the GM is for a given scenario?

Is there a limit to the number of games you can get in at once as a player? I understand and appreciate the cap on 2 GM games.

The Exchange

I've signed up! Still checking out the tables.

Just wanted to throw out a plug for this app if you have an Android phone. Makes PbP-ing from phone a lot easier. But I may be biased, since I created it.

*

Registered to GM I left it blank as which scenarios, please sign me up for whatever. I am willing to run 2, but think I might have mixed that up by leaving it blank.

Thanks Joseph and to the rest of the online VOs!

Grand Lodge 1/5

I just realized that both Scenarios that I am running are Tier 5-9, So they will likely be in the same time slot. Joseph, should I change one of them so that it is a Scenario with another tier?

Shadow Lodge 4/5

I still can not see my two games, and I'm curious if I did something wrong.

I had signed up to run
PFS S1 07 Voice in the Void (1-7)
&
PFS S4 19 Night March of Kalkamedes (1-5)

I likewise can't sign up as a GM for my session.

Sovereign Court 5/5

Guys like Joseph said, GIve him till Sunday to get things up and running.

He not only has to create slots, the poor guy also has to sift through our numerous GM offers and slot them in.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

No worries. I was just curious. Others have seen their games up right after registering, so I was wondering if I had done something wrong.

Not trying to rush.

Liberty's Edge

Already in to DM Carrion Hill, let do this!

Would love to, but is not compatible with my Motorola A953 phone.

Liberty's Edge

Do we need to create a recruitment thread or something like that?

1/5

Derek's subtier question is a good one, although I expect much will be resolved soon. I need my Mists of Mwangi at Tier 1-2, for example, to fit continuing players.

D-Kal, I picked up a copy of your app and, while I'm not much for posting by phone, I think some of my players would be very interested. I'll let them know.

The Exchange 4/5

Will we know what subtier we are GMing?

The only way to do that is if you pre-muster and have that group fill your table. Otherwise, expect any subtier for the game you are running. For instance, someone running a 1-5 scenario should expect either a 1-2 or 4-5 game.

Warhorn should now be set-up correctly

This means that every single game is in its own slot, meaning you sign-up to GM and play multiple sessions.

A couple of things to note:

  • The time listed corresponds to the level range. This means a 1:00am-5:00am game means it is playable by characters of level 1-5.
  • In the name of every scenario, you will see a bubble similar to (OnlineVO - paizo.com). This is to denote the GM of the game (to help them figure where they should sign up, and the location on the internet of the game.

I am closing GM sign-ups right now.

There are 53 games for folks to sign-up for, and I want to make sure all those tables can be filled (To be honest, I am amazed by the willing support of everyone who has signed up so far). That being said, GMs will not be receiving the product support for what they are running if they do not have a legal table.

You cannot play one character in multiple sessions.

This means that 1001-3 can only play in one session. But, that does not stop 1001-4 from playing in another session. When I report this information, I will be looking for folks who played one character multiple times. If you do this, you will not be allowed to sign-up for the next PbP gameday.

Boons and prize support will be given out at the end of the gameday after I get all the reporting back.

This means GM boons, player boons, and product prizes will only be available to those folks who complete their session and get the reporting to me. If, for some reason, your PbP fizzles and I get no reporting back, those folks will not be eligible receive prizes and boons based on that session played.

If we manage to fill all the tables and they all get completed, we can offer even more exciting scenarios next time.

Meaning, Bonekeep Levels, Specials, etc.

Please donate to Warhorn so they can better support us.

We have learned a lot about Warhorn and how they can better support PbP Gamedays. But in order to make sure that happens, please donate to them. I have been talking to the Warhorn folks about how they can make changes that will make scheduling run a lot smoother. I will be donating some money to them, so I hope you will too.

NOW GET TO SIGNING UP!

Sovereign Court 5/5

Whooppee!!!

Already signed up my GM Slots.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Very cool.

Liberty's Edge

The good news is that Caubo has fixed things nicely, an everything seems great.
The bad news is that I had already accepted the game I am mastering but the "sign up" got lost in the reorganization, so I had to sign up to my game again.
So I would recommend you check you are sign up in your games, even if you already did it before.
And I also sign up as a player in a game. I loved the idea of being able to say the slot we can fill (arcane caster, barbarian, trickster, etc).
Thanks to the team for organizing this.

Dark Archive

Joseph,

You rock. My only issue is that you closed DM sign up before I heard about the opportunity. Well, count me in for next time.

I am not sure if this is a function of the new Warhorn or the way this game day is set up, but I can't figure out how to see who is already signed up to play. I want to see what level range is signed up and what type of character they might need to help them. Is there a way to do this?

Dark Archive

I think I got it. Had to register for the event to see tables...

Grand Lodge 1/5

Thank you, guys! Now to get people to sign up! ;)

It is probably a good thing in retrospect that I've only signed up to run one table, but in the off chance that you need another table run I'm happy to pick one up :)

So what efforts will be made to get people to sign up? Can we get Paizo to announce it in their blog?

Shadow Lodge

If we play and GM will we be able to assign GM credit to the same character as play credit, assuming that they are still of valid level? I presume the answer is yes but I want to double check.

Also my table is already full guess people really wanted to do snows of summer.

I may a link the Online Recruitment threads, HERE. Things like that will help, as will letting your friends and players know.

Any chance we could get that "stickied" for a few days?

A Blog Announcement would be cool, too.

The Exchange 4/5

Can we get Paizo to announce our gameday?

No, because then every gameday in the world would be expecting the same. We need folks to spread to their communities, copy our postings, and let others hear about the support Online Gaming is now getting. The Online VO team can only do so much.

One neat thing about Warhorn is that after our first gameday, we will have-mail to folks to advertise our next gameday.

Can we apply our GM credit to a character we are playing at this PbP gameday?
Yes, you can assign your GM credit to a character your playing, so long as your character meets the requirements:

1. Must be legal level.
2. Must not have already played the scenario prior with that character.
3. You must pay the credit AFTER your character has played in its current session and you've finished GMing.

So what general plans do GM's have here? October 5th is less than three weeks away. Will you start a recruitment thread here, then direct folks to Warhorn? That's my thought.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

I had considered starting a recruitment thread, and I was also thinking of getting in contact with a few podcasts just to drop a plug. Not for my games specifically, but the even in general. Was also going to get in contact with the PFS Online Google Community and let them now to put the word out. :)

I had a friend register for the Scenario I'm running (Citadel of Flame) Thursday night, but between then and today his spot vanished. Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, I hate to ask, but is anyone currently in that Scenario open to bowing out so he can reclaim his seat? Or can I just run it with 7 and play up?

The Exchange 4/5

I sent an email and have been posting here that I had to totally reconfigure Warhorn. Folks that were registered before are no longer registered. There was no way around this.

Please refer to the Guide to Organized Play on what situations allow you to play up. I would rather someone back out instead of increasing the table size to 7.

I'll bow out Rah, so your buddy can play.

2/5

Joseph, I thought something like that had happened, but since I hadn't even registered to GM my own game yet I wasn't truly aware of what the reset meant. I hadn't even realized that my friend had signed up until today (he just told me about it).

Anyway, thanks for replying (I really didn't want to run a 7 player scenario). And a big thanks to Jeremy for stepping aside. I owe you one big favor. If you are looking for a game in the future, send me a note and I'll work you in with priority.

I'll bow out. No worries. I was probably going to want to focus a bit more on DMing anyway, with so many of our groups game coming to an end now.

:)

Shadow Lodge 4/5

If I can ever get it to work, that is. :)

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Ok, finally did it. Like someone said earlier, if there is a point where one f the DM's can't run a game, or there are enough players that we need more DM's, let me know.

I'll Bow out, that way Jeremy Doesn't have to.

Have Done so.

Grand Lodge 1/5

Rah, you got some great players! I was gonna offer too... but the others beat me to it.

@Nightdeath, Jeremy, and Beckett: I was going to offer to withdraw because my character was lvl 4 and everyone else was lvl 1-3. If whoever dropped out wants back in, let me know.

BTW, Rah, you gotta let me know what you use to get those character tokens... I like them better than my simple borrowed pics... ;)

2/5

Hah. Well now I'm one short. So as not to disrupt this thread further, let me create a new discussion thread over in Online Campaigns so we can figure out who's going to play. All those signed up for my Citadel of Flame scenario (Beckett and nightdeath included) please check in HERE.

So, the listings on Warhorn don't show APL for the module.

That could have been included fairly quickly and easily, and not forced every player to either have the APL ranges for the entire history of modules memorize,d or to have to check for each and every event they would like to play . . ..

Kind of expensive on the player end for what should have been a matter of seconds for the person making the listings.

This issue has already been addressed, please refer to post I made earlier in this thread.

Also, when you click on the scenario to register, right above the GM it says "Characters Level X-Y". Players should not have issues knowing what level these games are for when the levels are listed in double.

I just want to thank you for setting up this amazing event! I registered and signed up as well, of course :D
