Oddly, I'm not really fond of Numeria in the overall setting myself, but I'm looking forward to this AP.
Settings that are basically fantasy with "Oh yeah, there's space aliens and high tech stuff too, over here in this corner but they don't really affect anyone's normal life" tend to bother me. One weird guy with high tech toys in a group of knights and wizards rubs me the wrong way.
An AP focused on a science fantasy (sub-)setting? That's cool. It's built into the campaign all along.
That's pretty much how I feel. And that's what I like about Golarion's modularity: you can mix-and-match elements from the distinct regions however you like to tell your story. I wouldn't let Numeria into, say, a Varisia campaign I was running. But the option's there if someone else wants it, and I love the idea of a Numeria-centered campaign with that flavor there from the beginning.

I'm really glad this is happening. I know there is going to be a very vocal group of people who are unhappy with a "science fantasy" adventure path ... two of my friends have already responded with 'yuck' and 'ugh' text messages.
The thing for the haters to keep in mind is that while players feel very passionate about this one way or another. And a lot of the developers at Paizo have been eager to try this. At the end of the day Paizo Publishing is a business and they know there is a enough interest in this to make it profitable for them.
So for everyone who is bound to come into this thread and start trashing on Paizo and saying how it is going to ruin Pathfinder ... take a deep breath ... it's not going to ruin the game or the company or your experience. This is 6 months. Play the Mummy AP and then get ready for the "regular" AP that comes after this one.
Thank you Paizo!!! I've been looking forward to something like this since I started playing Pathfinder two years ago.

This is pretty good news....it is a AP I would want to play in or run...
however....my group tends to be a little of the anti-sci-fi in fantasey crowd.( My only problem with Numeria is I would have made it more geographicaly isolated). So I don't think I will be able to play it...and chances are low to me run it. :(
So if anybody plans on running it in the North NJ area let me know...I'll bring treats.

if this is good then I will once again start making a hair doll for james jacobs
I started on one for him before but then he basically broke my hair-doll-making heart when he favored a new swashbuckler class over rogues
but if I get Numeria then JJ you are so getting a hair doll once again, I promise

i'd love to incorperate the CPUs from Hyperdimension Neptunia. i totally want to build a Tsundere, Greatsword wielding Aegis named Noire with hardcore OCD. she overworks herself and pushes herself to the point of Fatigue or illness. and gets upset if somebody trims one millimeter off of one of her pigtails but not the other. because of her extreme obsession over Symmetry and Geometrical perfection

why buy masterwork breastplate when i could summon a superior version of it as a move action that also surpasses mithril breastplate at level 7?

Well, congratulations to those of you who have been hoping for this AP for such a long time. I'm sure they'll do a fabulous job with it.
For myself, however, this is the second AP in the last five years that I'll not be subscribing to. I guess I might end up checking out D&D Next next year after all! I've got enough Paizo APs to last me several years anyway, so it all works out for everyone.

It's funny, I think I would actually be more excited to see Paizo put out an AP I'm not interested in. Every time I look at Skull and Shackles sitting on my bookshelf, it gives me a good feeling because that's 6 books I don't have to find time to run (I like having them for reading).
When they keep putting out APs that I want to play, it's like they're just piling more and more rocks on top of me.
I think I need to push my players into playing more often. Will Handle Animal work for that, or do I need something else? :P

I'm very happy that this AP is coming out for no other reason than hopefully we'll be able to get over all this bickering about alien/robots/lasers vs "boring ol' common fantasy" stuff that so many people are constantly going on about. I don't mind Numeria. Heck, I've got a plot line that involves Numeria in my current Kingmaker campaign. I don't mind aliens. I also have a very alien-intensive Black Tapestry plot line going on in that same Kingmaker campaign that deals a lot with aliens and technology. I believe there's room for all kinds of different roleplaying, despite my greater appreciation for the "boring ol' common fantasy" gaming.
Reading all this crap that seems to constantly go back-and-forth between the two camps certainly does get old, though. Real old.
This thread is about Numeria's new AP. I'll never play it, but I'll definitely own it because I try to get all the lore I can. And besides that, I don't have to turn Golarion into Deep Space Nine or Babylon 5 with spaceship armadas and high-powered laser tech if I don't wish to. I fully support all those who desire to do so, however! (This is in answer to a sourcebook containing such things as spoken above, for those who are scratching their heads right now.)
I do think it would be interesting if Paizo did give some interesting archtypes that fit Numeria tech and the like though. Standard fantasy fare might not be as interesting to play in a game that's high tech. Also, I definitely hope they deliver on the Technic League and the political happenings in Numeria, as well. Those are the things that interest me about that region the most!

That picture always makes me want to start cheering for the HMS Thunderchild!

I'm glad to see the blood sacrifices I made earlier have appeased the great James Jacobs in the sky and lo, Numeria AP.
Now to do the same for an Arcadia AP :D
I honestly love the concept of Machine Gods. As corny as 40K can be sometimes, I always loved the concept of the Machine Spirit and the Omnissiah.
