i'm not a punchy type person, but that is a tempting offer:-), a trip to seattle and i get to hit someone in the face;-) i'll start saving:)>

I know! I'll come to PaizoCon wearing Australian dropbear-hunter attire and speaking with strange accent, so that folks will confuse me with 3.5 Mineralogist or Sincubus.
Wait, that's not THAT stellar of an idea, isn't it?
Clearly everyone needs to cosplay as Gearmen. Though is there artwork for them?

For some odd reason when I see "Valley of the Brain Collectors" I can't help but think of Intellect Devourers piloting small mechanical vehicles....
That's a wonderfully horrifying new spin on the tank engines of the Island of Sodor.
{George Carlin voiceover:} "What's that, Thomas? You saw Sir Topham Hatt get his brain eaten?! Don't be silly, Thomas." {chuckles menacingly}

Intellect Devourers in go karts. That admittedly sounds awesome.
Go karts like these?
If does end up being the Mi-go, I will defiantly be working on a "Grave Robbers From Outer Space" mini scenario to tack onto the installment.
I still might consider writing the scenario if it does end up being focused on the exploits of some Intellect Devourers. I have always felt some sympathy for those little guys since one of them was trapped on the tween deck in the downed ship at the Barrier Peaks.

I presume Valley of the Brain Collectors will be featuring Neh-Thalggu, since they are called out as being a major part of the Dominion of the Black
And because they're Brain Collectors (by name, not just avocation). ;)
Curious to see/know where this Valley of them will be.
Of course, anytime I see a title like "Valley of..." I start equating it with a Russ Meyer movie. Neh-Thalggu in go-go skirts?

although Intellect Devourers in go-karts would be more amusing :P
I was actually thinking the same thing, even though they collect the brains by eating them, plus they are CR 8 which is more in line with a 9th level mod (vs. the Mi-go who are CR 6).
Too bad about the mi-go
Well, at least the Neh-Thalggu have do have some gaming history going back to the basic/expert era - Castle Amber if i'm not mistaken. So much for "Grave Robbers From Outer Space".

;)
#temptation ˆˆ
no wait, I am going to pay for a kickstarted visit of the Mi-Go at paizo.con 2014.
That should make everyone happy !

You would probably end being kicked more than punched, it's a kick starter after all.

I'm actually in a lot of pain right now due to being unable to read it after everything everyone's told me about it so far. Like a succubus stuck in a chastity belt.
There's probably a better way to put that...
But yeah, still going Foamy Mouth Guy because of very thing around it. :D

AI's becoming gods and granting spells, some good, some bad, and some undecided.
#1 Fires of Creation
Starts in the city of Torch, where there is a regular release of something that lights up the night sky, it suddenly stops and a door opens at the bottom of a hill.#2 Lords of Rust
#3 Choking Tower
#4 Valley of the Brain Collectors
Dominion of the Black#5 Palace of the Fallen Star
Go to the capital and have to deal with the Technic League#6 The Divinity Engine
Lords of Rust really calls up some powerful imagery.
Really excited about the sound of #4

1)Fires of creation...a door in a hill and some fireworks, sounds like fun.
2)Lords of Rust...rusting robots or some really nasty rust monsters.
3)Choking Tower....I am glad someone else made a comment about this one;)
4)Valley of the Brain Collectors...sounds like fun if I could play as a scarecrow.
5)Palace of the Fallen Star...cool we get to fight the technic league.
6)The Divinity Engine...are you sure they aren't using mythic rules for this one.

Heck yes. Some from Fungi from Aucturn perhaps?

Just received Numenera as a gift and man, it's really hyping me up for the Numerian AP.
I told my buddy about there being a Numeria AP and he presumed I was talking about Numenera and typed it wrong (because we just got our material for that). He was very confused how Paizo and Monte Cook would be merging their systems.

Yeah, I tend to confuse the two names when I talk about it.

It's not a stretch to say the originators of the crashed starship placed pre-programed protocols in things like the "robots" to help prevent or at least limit "contamination" on what they consider a developing planet.
There, a practical reason for "What Happens in Numeria, stay's in Numeria".
Although if the Divinity Engine says, "Good Morning Dave" there may be a problem.

Whew... back from Gen Con! If folks have questions about Iron Gods, post away here... I'm not gonna be going back through this already giant thread to sift out answers! :-P
I will post the official titles here though, since the above list isn't entirely accurate:
1: Fires of Creation
2: Lords of Rust
3: The Choking Tower
4: Valley of the Brain Collectors
5: Palace of Fallen Stars
6: The Divinity Drive

I actually do like 'Divinity Engine' better than Divinity Drive, but drive might have some sort of double entendre going on, like it's driving (robot)folks to divinity, not merely a catalyst, but an actual impetus, in some way.
Still have Judas Priest's 'Metal Gods' stuck in my head, after hearing the AP title announced.
Ooh. Brain Collectors. Easily one of my favorite creepy aberrant monsters. If there was ever a place for a Pathfinder version of a Locus Feat (from the Scarred Lands setting) or Reserve Feat (from WotC's Complete Mage), it would be introduced with a species that stores the brains of multiple spellcasters within it's brain-sacs, and can draw upon the funky interactions of all that prepared / stored metaphysical / occult energy.

Some basic questions I have for Mr. Jacobs:
- Will there be artifact examination table for technological items, or what process will there be in place for players to figure out tech gear?
- Will there Powered Armor? Maybe a few variant suits (Assault, Scout, Engineering or Lift etc). Will you have non-powered tech armor (plasteel plate, etc). Any fantastic metals/alloys that will make their debut in this AP?
- Will tech weapons use the same rules as guns currently do in PF (with regard to armor, ranged touch, etc)?
- Will there be a S3 (Barrier Peaks) tribute type installment in the AP, or will there be facilities of different sorts scattered throughout the whole series? It sounds like Fires of Creation may fit that role, just a low level version of S3.
- Any rules on cybernetics/bionics for PCs, will they be able to use computers or have any AI/Robot creation or construction rules in this series or support material?
- Will there be rules for advanced AI constructs (either organic or inorganic based memory) outside of this AP. I'm assuming here that the Divinity Drive is a single or series of CI/TT's that have gained the ability to harness magic (I could be wrong). I guess my point is on this last question is - are these going to be a series of one-off, unique creatures/threats with specific powers tied to them or will there be rules for expanding or duplicating the BBEG/minions that are AI based.
I know you probably can't answer most of these questions, but I figured I'd put them out there anyway.
Thank you for your time.

We've used the word "Engine" as part of title constructions before and will again for another product, so that's right-out. And in fact, the word "Drive" is MUCH more appropriate for the adventure, as folks will see in about a year and a half...

Aside Wrath of the Righteous spoilers.
** spoiler omitted **
Nope. Iron Gods does not assume Wrath of the Righteous has already occurred, nor does it assume that it has occurred. As with pretty much all of our APs, it's self-contained and can be played in any order with the other APs (with the exception of Shattered Star).

1) There won't be an "examination table" per se, but there will be glitches and weird side effects from using these things.
2) Re: Powered armor... we'll see! As for fantastic metals... all seven skymetals will play a role, and a few new materials will be introduced as well.
3) Sort of.
4) More of a few tributes scattered throughout probably.
5) Perhaps! Construction rules will be created to remain internally consistent, but I'm not sure yet where or if we'll publish them. Constructing tech is NOT going to be a focus of the AP, and we really REALLY want to leave the "let the PCs build technology" on/off switch in each GM's hands.
6) The rules for AI will likely be entirely contained in the AP, either in the adventures themselves or in the back matter articles. They might end up being one-off unique creatures as well. Dunno yet.
