still sad........I was all excited and everything. Normally when it says "you purchased this" the PDFs are available.....Still sad.
Yeah ... it's always like that. But so long as you get used to the first email not actually meaning anything (and virtually always being on a Thursday) you get used to it.
It is actually worded differently than the ship email, if you look carefully. You just have to be in the mood to look carefully instead of being all woot! got my ship noti... errr crap.

Aye, the important email (the one that lets us know the items are being shipped) is titled "Paizo Order #XXXXX Shipment" (emphasis on "shipment"), and that's the email that lets us know our PDFs are ready for download.

Nope. The warehouse has a special system to print out labels and ship packages. They do it in groupings by which ever group works best for their workflow. Additionally, while someone(s) works on the "simple" packages with no additional non subscription items, someone(s) else is working on the orders that have added stuff in or don't have enough similar groupings to be printed with the labelmaker. Those orders have their own order, but are also grouped in a way that assists with workflow.
The only ones that always ship before any others are 2nd Day air or Next Day Air.

Sara Marie, any chance that Paizo may offer a "charge me now, ship whenever you are ready" option for their suscribers in the future, so that we can get our PDF's as soon as possible? I know, it's basically just rampant impatience on my side, but this wait is killing me. ^^

There's a detailed explanation of why they can't do this somewhere on the boards. The nutshell version is "because, unlike some other companies, they're not willing to break Visa/MasterCard rules about charging before shipping."
I'll see if I can find the full explanation.

Ah, well. That's unfortunate.
Yeah, blame VISA and Mastercard. They make the rules. We play by them. If we don't, they could take away our ability to charge credit cards and that would probably put us out of business. Or at least put a huge damper on our ability to do what we do. So we don't mess with that. :)

But...Paizo is a game company. Don't you make the rules? :confuzzed:

I assume those orders are shipped first because people are paying extra for the speed. I don't suppose you've considered offering an option to pay a little extra to prioritize shipments without getting the upgraded shipping? The only reason I ask is that I live in Seattle, and even the cheapest shipping options tend to arrive the day after they ship. Upgrading to Next Day Air would mostly be a waste of money, but I could see myself spending some money to ensure my order was shipped earlier. I understand this would probably introduce all sorts of complexities you don't want to deal with, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
And if you were to offer a same day shipping option, like Amazon's Local Express Delivery, that would be even cooler. ;)

We try to time it so the majority orders will arrive about the time of or just before the retail release date (because of the size of the August subscriptions and the logistics of Gen Con, that won't happen for everyone this month). If we had a ton of local next day delivery, they would like be at the end of the sub shipments to time their arrival about the same as other subscription shipments and to make sure they weren't crazy early compared to the retail date. But thats all hypothetical. Amazon local delivery is a loss leader for them and Paizo doesn't have the option to loose money on delivery like that.

For the Ladies and Gentlemen, putting in these long hours and missing out on the fun of Gen Con, I give you a toast and my thanks. Your noble sacrifice of time and fun will not be forgotten.

Just out of curiosity, I usually purchase a gift card ahead of time and redeem it ahead of time, to pay for my subscriptions (my debit card has caused delays before). Would it be an option for subscribers, if they have sufficient store credit, to receive their pdf earlier?
After all as far as my debit card company is concerned, I always buy gift cards and receive within seconds^^ (And yes I am always greedy when it comes to new paizo stuff^^

You assume they have a choice, I always though they were chained up in the warehouse until people return from Gen con^^

I am confused. Has my order shipped?
My tracking number says that UPS hasn't received the package yet, but my subscription page says it has shipped.
What should I look for? UPS tracking?
Just wondering when I can start counting down the 5 business days till it gets here.
Thanks.
I got my email saying it shipped yesterday evening (2013/08/12 @ 2050). Based on the time it took last month (pure UPS), I am expecting it to arrive on August 20th.
You say UPS, but is this UPSMI or straight UPS?

The shipping email means the Paizo warehouse has packed the box and applied the label so it's ready to go. Until it's actually picked up by the UPS guy and scanned, there won't be any tracking information.

Since our system is set up to only charge once your order ships, it also does not deduct your store credit until this time. Much like a credit card authorization, you can set-aside store credit towards an order, but it is not actually used until we process your order for shipping.

I guess I just hope the UPS guy gets going and picks up his order.
Thanks all!
Packages going through UPS & UPS-MI have to be processed by their facility before tracking becomes available. It is my understanding that for UPS this usually occurs during the business day after we have processed your order for shipping, while UPS-MI can sometimes take up to three business days.
For future reference, it is usually best to create your own thread in the Customer Service forums when asking questions about your order/account. We want to make sure we see your posts.

Really? Because it seems like you guys dedut from my store credit when I get the first e-mail...not when you guys ship the the order.

I believe they do two shifts that put people shipping package from about 7:30/8am to 5pm ish. During busy times like now, there maybe people shipping until 6pm ish.
Mail picks up in the afternoon usually.
For UPS Mail Inmovations Domestic orders with shipping notices that say "should ship from our warehouse by August, 23", your tracking information may not show up until the 26th or 27th depending on when the UPSMI picks up the batch of orders with your package in it.

Reposting here incase it gets missed in the random banter in the Mythic Adventures thread.
If we haven't gotten our shipping notice (and as in my case only the Mythic book is in my shipment) by tomorrow when the PDF goes online for sale, do we get access to the PDF? Will I have to wait until my order ships for the PDF to become available, even though I've already purchased it through the subscription (Note the product page said I bought it on the 9th, the day the payment authorization ran)?

Spawn of Rovagug |

Quick question: I added the Mythic Adventures book (only) to my subscription order, but I'd like to add the Pathfinder RPG subscription (starting with Mythic Adventures) so I can get the pdf. Is it too late to add the subscription to my order (without double charging me for Mythic Adventures) so I can get the pdf when it ships?

It's probably not too late, and you almost certainly won't be double charged, but you'll probably end up towards the end of the order list.
I'd definately start your own thread though.

There are a lot of posts on this thread regarding specific orders, I will try an answer what I can, but please remember that it is best to post your own thread in the Customer Service forum rather than post in someone else's topic. We do not want to lose your question to a long torrent of posts.

PDFs become available as we ship your order, which is also the same time that we charge your payment method.
In your case, I show that your order shipped earlier today so your PDF should be accessible now.
In the future, please post questions about your orders or account in a new thread in the Customer Service forum.

If you would like to add the RPG Subscription it is not too late to include this with the rest of your subscription order for this month. I can also cancel your preorder of Mythic Adventures so that you do not get two copies.
To do this, you will want to begin your RPG subscription, and then let us know that you would like it merged with your pending subscription order and the duplicate copy canceled. So that you have some time to do this, I have placed a temporary hold on your pending subscription order till Friday.
Just let us know what you would prefer.

I feel very tempted now to post a whiny post full of misplaced entitlement in hopes of accelarating the shipment of my order, in hopes of waking up tomorrow to my PDF. ;)
Oh, shush. Only about 15% of my regular non-shipping-related posts are probably whiny and entitled, I think I got a pretty good average on saying moderately intelligent things. :p

It's all Wayne Reynold's fault. I bet Visions of WAR is holding me up.
(Not really, it just seems that the folks saying they're at the end of the queue seem to get their shipping email soon after.)
