For example, it seems to me that given the relevant orders were picked ages ago, those lucky enough to pick up their subscriptions at Gen Con have actually done those of us who are still waiting for our books a favor. If they'd been dumped in with the rest of the subscribers, it would no doubt have taken even longer than two weeks to process August subscriptions.
I actually think that is the reason for the delay...they had to give those people priority...which changed their normal system of doing things.

Nah, Gencon-pickup orders didn't delay anything. All they had to do was load the appropiate number of boxes of product on a truck.

When you pick up at GenCon, they don't have a bag waiting with all your stuff already collated, they go and grab the items needed from the reserved quantities in the back based on what you ordered. So no extra time at all - except for the check-out process itself, which isn't the normal warehouse folks.

Can we just get an update? I know there are more people like me who are anxiously awaiting the shipping notice. Progressing smoothly? Ahead of schedule? Behind? I think we'd rather be warned now if that's the case...

Could the PDFs be released early to those who have paid using store credit? That method ensures that Paizo already has the money and there is little to no risk involved on your side.

My giddy aunt. This is a once a year delay (if that). Seriously folks just wait this ONE time. The system generally works for every other case, you get your stuff before or pretty close to the street date. I can't recall ever seeing such angst about shipping. I'm desperate to get my hands on my August shipment, and I suppose being in Australia I just get used to the wait time. I probably also have a really, really short attention span since I'm already impatiently waiting next months stuff.

The nice(?) part of living in the backwards of the universe is that overseas deliveries are so random (ranging from 5 days to 5 months) that situations like these just ain't fazing me.

Yes, but I would wager that getting the pdfs of your remaining subscriptions helps to tide you over until the physical products arrive in your particular are of Europe (IRRC slightly east of Germany, I think flesh eating bags can still be found in the wild there :) )

So yeah, it would be very pleasing if the paizo crew could work out a way for subscribers to get to their pdfs ahead of time (even outside Gen Con, but its is hardly a requirement for our continued support of their products.

(And this is comming from someone, who is still waiting. The worst thing, is however, that the weather is gorgeous, and I want to read King of Chaos ;( )

Oh, I have Mythic Adventures PDF for that - overseas shipping + VAT killed my hardcover purchases at Paizo, so I'm getting them in PDF and later ordering from Amazon :)

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, thats pretty much the reason why the WAR artbook, the new card game and tokens are utterly out of the question. I would pay more to the postal service than to paizo for the products.

Hey y'all:

I know it can be super frustrating when it takes this long to ship out subscriptions. Trust me, the warehouse staff is just as frustrated. They take great pride in providing prompt service, so when a subscription run of mythic proportions happens like the one that is currently going on, they get pretty stressed that it is taking so long. All I can tell you is that they are working as fast as they can and I appreciate everyone's patience. When this sub run is done, we will sit down and see if there is anything we could have done differently to make this a smoother and less stressful situation for everyone, but right now, the focus is on getting everything out the door.

Again, thanks for your patience and support.

Good heavens! You posted that at 6:35 am Paizo Time.

Maybe I'll get my PDFs today. That would be cool.

Now for a much more important question, when will we be able to buy the Goblin masks that Paizo had at GENCON?

They are totally gone. Given out at the convention. Currently we have no plans to reprint them for paizo.com. They were a fun promotional item that was meant to be a GenCon exclusive. Of course, I never say never, so...

Hey Lisa, how early did the warehouse crew start working today. Saw a post (somewhere) that seemed to indicate the warehouse crew (and others?) were shipping subs as early as 6:30ish this morning.

It can very from day to day depending on their schedules and what not. Rest assured they were here pretty early (Pacific time) and will likely be here pretty late.

Update time!

So the warehouse has been rocking the socks off of this subscription shipment, but they are still behind schedule. I'm sending both Justin and Erik down to help and Jeff Alvarez, the COO of Paizo, is also going to hopefully be heading down as well. We are also looking into getting an additional temp to help as well later today or tomorrow.

Sending both my guys down to the warehouse means customer service is just me. I would kindly ask you to please avoid sending status requests for orders unless you are seeing an error with something. I've got a couple hundred emails to plow through, so thank you ahead of time for your patience.

cheers!

Thank you for the update. Stuff like this is why Pazio gets "too" much of my money each month!

I applaud the warehouse folks and their efforts.

On a related note, I live in Puyallup and have three teenage girls that would love to help pack shipments! I think two of them are actually old enough to work in WA.

No pay necessary, we'd all work for Store Credit.

Just sayin'...

I am trying a switch from USPS to UPS Ground to see if my order gets here next month faster...they can't be slower than 6 days and counting in the same state...WA. It only adds a few bucks to shipping.

The warehouse crew seems to get my stuff out on time but the USPS seems to think standard mail means snails and turtles time...no way will I go to USPS Priority to get it faster.

That would just be rewarding USPS for being all passive agressive.

Does that mean shipping is done for today?

Nope. I believe there are at least two people still down there shipping, possibly more.

On my way to work today, I thought of a very long post that would praise Paizo and defend them against the frustrated comments from others who—like myself—have not yet had their subscription order fulfilled. It was straight forward, polite, and filled with beautiful logic.

Then Lisa and Sara Marie step in, respond, and do a far better job of calming people than I ever could. :D

Glad to see it, but now no one will ever see my wonderful dissertation!

I blame Cosmo.

We've had a bunch of customers, both here and via email and phone inquiring about why tracking doesn't seem to be working on their orders.

For customer's whose orders had shipping labels printed in batches you'll see your shipping email says the following: "A package containing 2 items from Paizo Order #xxxxxxx is expected to ship from the Paizo warehouse by Friday, August 23 via Standard Postal Delivery, estimated x to x business days in transit." That means tracking may not work until a few business days *after* August 23.

When we batch print labels for subscriptions it generates a tracking number at that time. However, at this point, not all printed labels from the August shipment have been shipped from our warehouse (we have a couple rolls left). Tracking won't become available for your package until it leaves the warehouse. I will update this thread when the warehouse finishes with rolls of labels and they have all been picked up by our shippers.

Orders containing the message "expected to ship by August 23rd" could be anywhere from in the remaining label rolls, to in a pile of packages waiting to be picked up, to on a truck heading to the Mail Innovations sorting facility. Which is why tracking hasn't kicked in yet.

thanks

The email was clear enough; the confusion for me came from looking at the order information in my account page here:

Order Information wrote:

<<me>>

That made it sound as though the order had left the building. Eh, first-time subscriber, so now I know to trust the email. I have the pdfs, my books are in the pipeline, and those are the important things.

I gotta say, this is my first pathfinder subscription, and it may be my last. I'm VERY unimpressed. My FLGS has had the first part of Wrath of the Righteous in their store for a week, and I haven't even received a shipping notification, which means its still probably ANOTHER week away. I don't care about GenCon, or the other excuses, yes, excuses, for delays. If Gencon was going to be an issue, why didn't we send the subs out early, instead of late? Then, when I called, the person I spoke to was very unhelpful. Customer service, folks, its what its all about.

They could not start early because they did not have some of the product until right before GenCon. This is a once a year thing, and trust me when I say that I started my subs almost a year ago and every other book I've gotten the physical book prior to the street date. I even annoyed my FLGS owner when I showed up with Ultimate Campaign before he had it. Paizo's customer service team is the best in the business and sets the bar for customer service period, and I'm sorry that you don't feel that way. You're still getting a free PDF, still getting discounts on everything you purchase and every other month you'd get your product early, I'd say wait until a normal month before making a rash decision, but it's your decision to make.
