I'm at my wits end trying to order the Colored Hardcover- is there any other way to pay for the purchase with my debit card and just skip Paypal?
Is there a reason you don't want to use Paypal? You don't have to sign up for an account - when you go to pay, there's an option for "Don't have a PayPal account?" and it allows you to use a debit card.
Outside of that, unfortunately, not unless you're located in the Dallas, TX metroplex. I have a Square card reader for in-person sales, but that doesn't really work over the internet.

I have tried that- each time it just brings me the Paypal website to make an account, which I did, only I can't use my card there either for my account. Sigh, let me give it another go.

I have also had trouble paying with Paypal. I even have an account but use my debit card only. I have tried paying for books ordered from Dreamscarred Press but when it came time to pay it told me it was unable to process the payment. I had to go to Amazon to buy the books. I do not have any trouble using Paypal other places but I don't use Paypal much. Is there any way I could send you a check in the mail if I have trouble paying with Paypal for the art book I added? I could even send it tomorrow so there are no problems.

Of the races presented in UP, where would they fit easiest or most logically on Golarion?
In my Rappan Athuk game (which I've set in Varisia), I've integrated the elan and the ophiduan easily by having them come from Vudra, where psionics are more commonplace. I've got the ophiduan as related to the Nagaji and the Vishkanyas (two other official Pathfinder serpent races) as part of a caste system with the Naga at the top. Hope that helps!

That does help, actually, thanks :) I imagine the Blue could be pretty much anywhere there be goblins... But the Dromites are kind of leaving me wondering.

Ah, always remeber that the Darklands are a vast and mysterious realm! When I threw a dromite in a while back, he was from a hive deep under the earth that had been conquered by drow (we were doing the Second Darkness adventure path).
I love the feel of the Noral, but they seem tricky in terms of integration to me, mostly in that some of their racial abilities and archetypes are built around them fulfilling roles as negotiators/police/ambassadors. Again, if I wanted to integrate them, I'd choose a far off land and have them play critical roles in the politics there... Again, maybe somewhere in Vudra or Tian Xia...

mdt - as soon as it's ready is the best answer I can give. :)
Artwork is about 90% completed at this point. We have one full page, one half-page, and several single-figure illustrations that are remaining to be completed. Potentially a few more depending on how layout looks.
Layout is progressing nicely.
Playtesting is progressing nicely. After the last couple of items I put up into playtesting, I think we're officially 100% into playtesting. So now I get the fun task of taking all the Alpha playtest reviews and updating to Beta to make sure we didn't miss anything.
We still have to do edits on about 5 legendary items, but they've all been written, so it's just editing / proofreading / balancing.
So... things are really good on Ultimate Psionics.
We still have a fair amount of work to do on the additional books (Bestiary, Embodied, adventure, etc), but those are already fairly far along as well.
While we're definitely behind schedule, things are progressing at a decent pace (from our perspective) considering how much extra content we added from stretch goals.

There is a moon (N'Chak?)around one of the gas giants that is dominated by sapient insect life. Just make Dromites native there. I would be tempted when I see the racial write ups to move a lot of the races to one of the other planets in the Golarion system. Explains the rarity of the races while still giving a means for players to potentially access them

My continued answer on an ETA is: when it's ready. :)
I'm not intentionally being vague, it's just that I can't give a better answer. Artwork has taken far longer than we expected, with several pieces months overdue from multiple artists. The joy of pretty much completely overhauling the artwork in both books.
Playtesting took far longer than expected because of the volume of new material we had to write. We've still not put all of the new material into Beta playtesting (although we're close to that and should be moving that along this week).
The good news is that layout has been moving along while all the other parts have been progressing.
Believe me, once I send it off to the printer, I'll have a much better idea on ETA. :)

And now for a completely fan-boyesque question:
What are the names of the Psionic Iconics? I mean, they gotta have names, right? And please don't say "Bob the Psychic Warrior"...
Bob? No way!
There's Simon the Psion... I kid, I kid.
Honestly, not all of them have been named yet - not all of the backers who picked iconics had those details, so Andreas and I will be doing that for some of them.
The ones who are named so far(and this is mostly off memory, so I might miss one or two):
Psion (Generalist) - Azure the Human
Psion (Telepath) - Moricaitas the Human
Psychic Warrior - Dukalti the Half-Giant
Soulknife - Adrian the Xeph
Wilder - Ilira the Maenad
Cryptic - Peywin the Elan
Marksman - Maikra the Half-Orc
The Aegis, Dread, Psion (Kineticist), Psion (Nomad), Tactician, and Vitalist will all be named by Andreas and I.

Distant Scholar |

The marksman iconic is a half-orc? Her picture (on the Psionic Miniatures kickstarter page) doesn't make that obvious. Not that all half-orcs need be completely monstrous.

Pulling from the UP backer updates:
Generalist - Azure
Telepath - Moricaitas
Soulknife - Adrian
Psiwar - Dukalti
Wilder - Ilira
Cryptic - Peywin
Marksman - Maikra
Aegis - "Everyone's Favorite Blue" (??)
Phrenic Slayer - Amalthea
Psychic Fist - Li Mu Bao
Soul Archer - Lady Seraphine
Psion Uncarnate - Javed
Mystic Archer - Eimee
Sighted Seeker - Ahmed
Metamind - Lanis
Metaforge - Dagiron
There are a bunch of them that I couldn't find names for in our updates (*sadface*)

What green ski... oh. It's Italy green. I can't see that color.

I was very happy to learn that this project was underway. I own the first 2 but really dislike paperbacks. Also great news that there will be additional content. Only thing I'm disappointed about, I was hoping every piece of art would say WDR on it lol. My opinion, only his work would pair the awesomeness of psionics.

jimibones83 |

P.S. I just came across this project today and I am gathering that the kickstart is closed. Does this mean I missed out on the only opportunity to get a limited edition? I wonder this because Im guessing that the bestiary will be a paperback and Id so much it rather just be incorporated into a hardback

Jeremy Smith Publisher, Dreamscarred Press |

@The NPC: my stock answer is always "when it's ready" We've still several artwork orders that we are waiting on, and I've been moving much of the new material into final playtesting over the past few weeks. All of the material for Ultimate Psionics itself is fully written, now it's just playtesting / editing / layout.
@jimibones83: Correct, limited editions are no longer available. We plan to have a couple (and I do mean only a handful) available for some other limited edition options (such as the 5 we had as rewards in our Miniatures kickstarter), but for general availability, they are no longer available.
As for every art being Wayne Reynolds... yeah, no way our budget could handle that ;) Well, unless you only wanted one or two pieces of art in the whole book.

Yes there is. Just have every sell a kidney and give you guys the money. That could give you a Wayne Reynolds artwork on every page. :)

I would just rather have a smaller amount of "nailed it" art than a large amounts of "just missed it" art. You guys raised a lot of money, far more than the original goal. But I do understand I have no idea what wayne charges for comission and whatever it is its certainly very high compared to other artists

Being privy to the art previews through backer upadates, I can say very little of the art is anywhere near "just missed it." Most of it is nailed it, and even though WAR's style is very distinct, there are a few of the larger pieces that I was blown away with and I think give Mr Reynolds a good run for the money as far as quality comparison.

Jeremy Smith Publisher, Dreamscarred Press |

^awesome! I thought it was going to contain most of the original artwork but in color which I wasn't impressed with. So this is good news:)
A large part of the reason we're so far behind our initial release date was because we replaced about 90% of the artwork from Unleashed / Expanded and then had to commission more art beyond just those replaced pieces.
On my task list is to get an art preview posted publicly - it's just low on the priority list. :)

I'd just like to underline this.
I was a strong proponent for upgraded artwork being a focus of the Kickstarter and I'm thoroughly pleased by all of the samples that have been revealed in the weekly updates. There's been a very positive style change as well as quality improvement that leaves me really geeked about what the final book is going to look like. Together with a page-layout teaser that was released ages ago, I'm pretty confident that we're looking at a Paizo-class book here, which is saying a lot.
It's really amazing what Dreamscarred has done. Like Paizo, they too the SRD components of WotC's 3.5e psionics material and updated it to modern standards. Then they moved on and wrote an entire book of supporting material that embraces and extends the original material. Finally they found the funding to make the presentation of the two truly shelf-worthy.
This is going to be a release I'll be proud to have on my shelf.

I just updated our Project Status thread:
Ultimate Psionics Project Status
The first post is up to date as of last week's project update.

I've put a bunch of archetypes into Beta playtesting!
Forgesteed Rider
Fleshbinder
Scaled Rider
Serpent Lord
5 racial archetypes remain to move to Beta, along with the non-racial archetypes for both psionic classes and base classes. I'm working on getting them all updated throughout this week, although I won't be working on them during GenCon. :P

Well, the good news is that we just got the last piece of art for the Prestige Classes chapter. :) So that's another chapter with all the artwork finished!
We're just continuing to trudge ahead - getting parts of it chipped away until it's all done.

That is great news! Are you going to release it as a physical book, or just a PDF? I won't even ask about a release date, seeing as how you don't have one for the Ultimate Psionics, but I am looking forward to the new material.
