Gunslingers: Ideas for a build

Paizo General Discussion

Grand Lodge

I am thinking about making a human gunslinger. I was wondering if anyone would like to suggest some ideas for builds?

It all depends on what you want to do with the character.
can you give more info please like point buy, starting gold, what you would like out of the character aka roll playing or role playing?

Grand Lodge

Really I was looking for any suggestions but sure. I was told a 20 point buy. It is for the new Skull and Shackles AP. I am trying to decide between 3 characters and as I have never made a gunslinger I figured asking would help. So anyway, human, pirate, I'm thinking for my first of two traits I will take Besmara's blessing. +1 Perception and Profession (Sailor). Primary weapon will be the Pistol, and my preferred melee weapon will be a cutlass if I can get my hands on one. I believe we are starting with no gear what so ever. As far as my role in the party, I am not sure as I have no idea who else will be in it. I hope that helps Thanks!

You could (if you GM allows) get the Super Genius Guide to Grit and Gunslingers. They have a class that is a combo gunfighter/swashbuckler type who is good with both guns and finesse weapons (so you might have to go rapier instead) at the expense of not being so firearm intense. They also use charisma instead of wisdom for grit, and can use some limited deads with finesse weapons.

For Jade Regent I plan on playing a musket master patterned after Matthew Quigley.

I haven't looked into S&S AP as no one in my area seems to run them (they run Pathfinder Society Organized Play).

Well i'm assuming you have looked heavily into the gun rules. (they can make things tricky!!!) If you have played an archer then you should be ok with gunslingers as they both work much the same and many of the feats interlock. Not sure what else to say to be of more help.
