Within the mind of the quorlu, a battle rages. The newest recruit to the Reddened Eye, Veerlin has wavered between committing fully to the Reddened Eye and leaving since her initiation. The cult has been pushing
her to commit violence in the name of the Devourer to cement her loyalties, but the Starfinder's words reminder her of her home and her days as a hatchling on Enereth-7. As the battle rages in her mind, Veerlin (blue)begins backing away from both sides, seeking some means to escape out of the tunnel entirely.

The maw shudders. It ripples outward, and a hand seems to press against the fabric of reality within it. A rip echoes as the jaws unhinge and break apart. Darkness swirls outward, slowly taking the shape of a humanoid. A red haze marks the outline of the darkness and gives the creature form. The featureless creature floats where the maw once was, taking in its new surroundings.

Traveling through the planes is both disorienting and exhausting. This demon has been weakened by it. It is too weak to summon another of its kind and its body, formed from dark matter, presently lacks the density to constantly pull creatures into its gravitational field.

When I saw GM Valen posting in recrutiting I thought ...good hes back...came and posted in the discussion to jog things and then after Aravon posted I went and looked in the gameplay thread and saw days had gone by I missed. i cannot explain why I didnt get any notifications. The drone fires a quick shot that pierces the demon's body, but does little else.

No need to apologize. I should have PM'd you. These are crazy times and many people are facing a variety of challenges and have greater priorities. I've been in multiple games where folks have disappeared for a while, presumably for various reasons. I'm glad you are with us!

@GM I think you miscalculated the damage. I was -12 and now I got smacked for 27 = 39. I will dismiss the reflective armor which redirects 10 dmg per enemy (I am not sure if it lowers the damage that I am getting).
Aravon feels the weight behind the hits. That figure did not look capable of such strong smacks.
He attempts to use the magic that is supposed to protect him to deflect some of the damage that he suffered.

Correct, I did miscalculate. The text of the spell does not reduce damage, just redirects up to 10 points. The errata does clarify that it applies to all damage, not just Hit Points.

@Pellet - I also failed to remind earlier that Cover Fire and Harrying Fire can still be effective without causing damage.

Weylin saw that things werent going too well and he changed his tactics. Obviously Aravon was best equipped to hit and hurt the foe and he said to lay down some covering fire for him.
and Weylin fired his pistolat the Concavian. The shot went into the dirt and had no effect.
