*accepts all hugs* Had a rough weekend. Caught a mild case of food poisoning Saturday and spent all day Sunday in bed, being sick. Feel better today though. This is the last time I trust the drinks from a Service Station cooler.

What's this? A new person?

* grabs Tender Tendrils in a belated welcome bear hug *

Sorry, I'm a hugger.

* sends out skittermanders to hug everyone else with extra-special care to my friends on the east coast *

Stay awesome, all of you!

Thanks, Fred. Working on getting the toxins out of my intestines. I should be completely well, relatively speaking, in a couple of days.

Keeping an eye on evac orders to find out whether or not I'm gonna be fleeing is an interesting way of spending my week! Everyone else out here on the east coast, keep an eye out, get water and snacks, batteries, what have you, and stay safe!

Stay Safe Vixie, and our favourite Slaadi if that's your area!

Welcome Tender... good week to everybody, especially those who have to flee Florence.

Not me, sorry. I don't even know where it's at. *googles* Ah! It's a charity Pathfinder convention in Minnesota! Cool!

Hope everyone going has fun, and everyone dealing with Florence is safe. I hope your weekend goes well, everyone.

{decloaks} Apologies for my absence. Belated welcome to Tender Tendrils!

And belated birthday wishes to Vixie (stay safe and dry from Florence!), Captain Collateral Damage ("CCD?" {makes save vs Catholicism flashback}, Kittyburger (YAY!), and Kalindlara (YAY!)!!!

And happy wishes for warm sunbeams and bird watching to lil' kitten Aria!

Nope, I live in the USA's dildo, Florida, so safe from hurricanes for now, just an apparent case of pinkeye in the right eyeball. ({shakes fist at Cosmo and Talona} Why is visiting people in the hospital the surest way to catch an illness?)

Duj So'! {recloaks Bird of Prey}

It's easier to think of CCD as a Charge Coupled Device. It's the chip in digital cameras that actually captures images.

I want to see someone hugging a ship in Star Trek now.

Some more CCDs: Colony Collapse Disorder
Community College of Denver
Cleidocranial Dysplasia
Cash Concentration and Disbursement
Center for Career Development
Captain Collateral Damage itself is a nickname from my very first character, a ranger who was in a party with some wizards who liked fireball and other area damage spells a bit too much. I had a boatload of hit points though, so I never died, even though some others did, multiple times.

Yeah, I used to work at Soon Only Not Yet, so I'm familiar with those CCDs (Back in the day, along with other tech writer/software developer support, I translated several Cyber-shot & DSLR user manuals from Engineer-ish into consumer friendly solutions, FAQs, and online tutorials.)

But when your mom's side of the family is all church-going RCs, as a kid you mentally imprint on "CCD" (the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) as Sunday school. (Hated Sunday school. Ugh.)

Silver Crusade

Same >_<

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great a weekend as possible ^w^

I just had to drop out of one of my game groups. I was talking about transgender people and half of the group (2 out of 4, both of whom are men) said that they don't think that trans people exist and that it's all BS. They said that it flies in the face of science and that it's a new phenomenon. Even though I was able to show them that it's only new if you discount the 4,000 years of charting it through history (we see 3 genders shown in ancient Egypt) and I tried explaining the science.

One of them actually said to me that if I came out as transgender that he would still call me Bob and refer to me as male. That was the straw for me. He had said only a few hours earlier that he considered me one of his closest friends. I don't think he understands what that word means.

I really enjoyed the games most of the time. I just cannot be friends with people who dismiss my very existence.

That sucks, Cindy, but it sounds as though you made the right decision.

I hope you can replace them with affirmative, supportive folks!

Hi Cindy, sorry you had to deal with this. You are an awesome person and definitely do not deserve this kind of behaviour

I think that you are facing this with an awesome inner strength that is an example to many people here and beyond. Thank you for being here and sharing. Keep bringing the wonder :-)

Hi everybody. Missed you for a long time. I love you all and will try not to disappear again

Mostly good stuff in my life though stressful. Yet another example that while there is life there is hope ;-)

fair. And wise. I'm sorry you had to excise them from your life. But it is YOUR LIFE. Not their theory. Live it without them.

Thanks everyone. I've been so busy with so many things and not really playing any Paizo systems right now that I haven't been on the boards much. I feel like I'm being abandoned, but I know that it's the right thing for me to do. It's just really hard. I have another group that I'm in where everyone is accepting, they just don't all know. I haven't come out to all of them yet and because we game at the same store where the group I just left also games, I am now at odds with what I should do about coming out more.

Well, if it helps at all - completely socially transitioning is the best thing I ever did. It was scary and difficult and really daunting but it is so worth it in the long run.
