You're assuming there will even be a next level, Mr. Squishy.

As one who was pancaked by a hill giant in another PbP game (the only reason she survived is he was striking for non-lethal damage)...I feel your pain.

Abigail let's out a sharp low whistle, letting Freyjr know his help is requested. The roc circles and let's itself drop, gaining momentum as it bites at the giant as it passes by.

Fly-by Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21; 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

She then summons the goddess' blessings, increasing her size tremendously. Raising her shield, she advances and attacks the giant, putting all her weight in her blow.

SwA: Enlarge (first round)(+1 D, -2 AC).
5-foot step to close in.
SA: Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12; 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) + 7 = 16

Toothless:
May ben away from comp for a bit. So I'll take care of the next 2 rounds now.

Round 2 Stabilize roll 1d20 + 2 - 10 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 10 = -4

Round 3 Stabilize roll 1d20 + 2 - 11 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 11 = 7

Dead end of round 3. Mourned by all.

Worry not, Aeneas! I'm here.

Seeing the Giant's club turn towards his friend and the abuse he is taking, Alexander closes his eyes and braces for the second impact, taking it himself.

When the giant does his second swing, I use Paladin's Sacrifice. Its my second level spell, an immediate action where I can take the damage and effects of the blow for him. So I'll take the 28 damage and Aeneas should still be at 10.

Text of the spell:

Spoiler:
You open up a brief but powerful divine conduit between you and another creature, taking on the damage and any other effects that creature suffers. When a creature in range is hit by an attack or fails a saving throw, you can cast this spell and the wounds and/or effects are magically transmitted to you instead of the target. You are affected as if you were hit by the attack or failed the saving throw, taking all the damage and suffering all of the adverse effects. Any resistances or immunities you have are applied normally, but you cannot otherwise reduce or negate the damage or effects in any way.

If you use this spell against an effect that also targets you or includes you in its area, you suffer the effects for both yourself and the target you spared, potentially taking damage or suffering other consequences twice.

As he rocks back from the effective strike, Alexander lashes out with his blade. Its obvious this creature needs to be dropped quickly, trying to chase away the wounds so he can be prepared as he hopes to draw the giant's attention.

Attack 1(Smite, flank): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Damage 1: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Attack 2(Smite, flank): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Damage 2: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

With the blow done, he sidesteps to give Aeneas room to continue moving to circle the giant.

Alexander shouts up at the creature with a bit of false bravado. "Face me creature, you'll not drop him while I stand!"

Alexander gets my vote for MVP. Alex can you use a swift to LOH to heal yourself?"

Toothless, do I get an action this round? If so it will add my 21, possably 39 points of damage to Alex's 25. How much more can this thing take?

Oh, and I mis-stated, you'd be at 18, not 10.

I was thinking about doing the swift action to heal, just so I don't get creamed too, but I am under the impression that doing an immediate action using my swift action on my next turn. I may be mistaken on that though. I should be able to take a round from the giant if need be.

Male Dwarf Paladin 2 / Monk 5

Seeing his arrow sink deep into the Giant's flesh, Saradac smiles and pulls out a pair of arrows. [b]"May Muir be blessed with the felling of this giant!"[b] he shouts above the wind and the sand and the screams of combat. He releases the arrows, and watches them sail

Saradac will shift back to T9, and, declaring smite evil, will make a flurry of arrows!

Attack 1(Smite): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 = 15

Attack 2(Smite): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13

>headdesk< how about I try thinking for once.

Toothless, if possible please ignore my previous posted action, the attacks, in favor of the following.

Move action. Draw smoke-stick. It is kept in a belt pouch so I am not sure if that is in easy enough reach to use the draw weapon rule.

SRD. Draw weapon >"This action also applies to weapon-like objects carried in easy reach, such as wands. If your weapon or weapon-like object is stored in a pack or otherwise out of easy reach, treat this action as retrieving a stored item."

The difference is the attack of opportunity. Draw weapon=no. Retrieve item =yes.

Which is a pity, because if I had just dumped everything in the haversack then I could pull it no problem. Sigh. Oh well never said I was optimal.

Standard action. Trigger smoke on my location, then 5'step to P-11

If I am going to draw an attack of opportunity then stick with the attacks posted earlier. It means likely death as the giant will keep pounding me but at least I draw that last attack sparing the others.

Aeneas, can I suggest delaying long enough to go after I do if you are going to provoke with your action? That way I have a chance of dropping him and you won't get creamed.

Good Idea. Sorry to cause all this bother. Fighters are harder to play than casters it seems.

Toothless, please delay by action until after Alexander. To recap the action will be to either activate a smokestick and retire to contemplate my career choices. Or valiantly attack the smelly wall. The choice is dependent on the draw/retrieve ruling. Sorry for the high maintenance.

I will be out and with difficult access to the internet until Friday night. Feel free to DMNPC my character as required. Abigail's intent, if the giant doesn't fall, is to serious cure Aenes.

Everyone, please see the discussion thread for an announcement.

"CUT!"
Aeneas walks up the the Aeneas fighting the hill giant. "Sorry Dave, turns out we lost funding, but don't worry everybody gets paid."

Dave pulls off the wig and starts removing the break away armor. "Yeah, I was expecting something like that." "You have to watch that backhand, Gladys, it packs a wallop."

The hill giant shoves its wrist into its collarbone and removes its own head. "Crap! I didn't hurt you did I?" Gladys is now revealed as an attractive rather muscular young woman inside a complex costume. "I felt the grip shift at the last second."

"Nah, I'll be fine. I'll help you out of the monkey suit we can toast my bruised ribs at Sardies'." There is a something between a twinkle and a leer in Dave's eye.

"You're on." Gladys replies. "Now be a nice man and help a lady undress will ya."

Goodbye everyone. It was a blast.

I hate the idea of games just ending. I need to have folks walk into the sunset as a way to round out the investment I've made in the character. Plus I thought it was funny.
