Wait a minute, he can't admit he was wrong can he?

Why, if Freehold admits fault, that means everyone here on these boards could be wrong about something.

Starts eyeing everyone suspiciously.

I guess that explains why my FAQ button isn't working...

The only thing wrong here is your lack of clothes!

Considering how hot and humid it is today I absolutely disagree with you. :-)

You don't know what true humidity IS, Northerner.

I'm sorry for that.

Our winters are amazing, but they're not worth our summers...not by a long shot. Three months of heaven does not make up for seven months of hell and two months of mediocrity.

So I could go on and on about the state of modern U.S. media coverage, but this article indicates there are still reporters out there who fundamentally understand the message that needs to be conveyed and how to convey it.

Scare tactic sensational headlines sell papers, but do nothing to inform or help. While I wouldn't call the article "informative", I would call it "helpful" and "healing".

I dunno. That new reptoid couple next door seem pretty nice. They even let me use their backyard heat rock when they're away. Plus, they eat all the stray iguanas and occasional small child that irresponsible owners turn loose on the island.

It's evidently training day at the higher end grocery store... It's cool I can handle this, I don't need to f#&& with a bunch of awkward preppy teenagers forced to wear white shirts and bowties for minimum wage...

Sorry, it's neckties, neon green neckties... I... just... something went wrong there...

And that's supposed to attract shoppers how?

Neon Green Neckties?!? ~curses and looks down~ I guess I painted the wrong thing neon green. I am just glad for pants.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm not sure.

Their attire.
Pressed white dress shirt, black pressed slacks, black apron, neon green necktie.

They used to have to wear black bowties.

Maybe it's so you can tell the Pod People staff from the regular staff

Or maybe it's like the SAS - the elite of the elite. "I have restocked the entire canned fruit section in less than a minute. I have earned the right to wear... THE NEON TIE"

Or maybe it's Confuse A Captain Day in Madison, WI.

Or just a particularly sadistic manager.

It's everyone that wears it.

How to annoy customer too busy to look for something themselves.

Have a sign in eleven characters long, then, "accidentally" put the wrong one in (more then once if needed) so you have to repeat it over again.

This one lady literally growled at me once. :-)

Out of context (hopefully) quote of the day.

A dad, to his son, as they're walking out of the store, "You ready to take that home, go in the bathroom, turn the lights off, and see what that puppy looks like!"

Customer: {walks up to tie-wielding employee} Excuse me, do you work here?
Employee #1: Yes, can I help you?
Customer: {smiles} Nope.
Employee #1: ???
Customer: {wanders over to next-closest employee} Excuse me, do you work here?

Customer How much is the ...?
Drejk picking up potatoes I don't know.
Customer Do you know if there will be more ... later?
Drejk still picking up potatoes I have no idea.
Customer Uh, do you work here?
Drejk graces "the customer" with a glance No.

Maybe wearing a blue T-shirt to Lidl wasn't the best idea? Nah, the employees wear Polo T-Shirts with different enough shade...

Fun hobby:
(1) Find a store where they dress all the clerks fairly generically: White dress shirt, black vest, black slacks, black bow tie, or what-have-you.

(2) Dress that way.

(3) Be rude to customers who ask you for help.

(4) Do your best to get fired.

I had one friend who made it all the way to the manager's office on his way to being fired before the manager asked, "Wait a minute! Do you work here?!?!?"

EDIT: Honestly, it's a lot more fun if the dress code is so generic that you *MIGHT* be wearing it casually. I love going to Disneyland in my khakis, polo shirt, fishing vest, and Adventureland hat and constantly getting asked for directions to the nearest bathroom.

I'm convinced it's what all Disneyland employees do all day: Point people to bathrooms.

I point people to bathrooms and explain to tourists that we do not carry milk, nor vegetables, nor fruit, but there is a Major Grocery Chain across the street.

It was cheaper to get the UK edition Harry Potter box set (all the novels) from Amazon UK and pay for international shipping on it than it would have been to buy the US edition box set from Amazon US, and I have Prime. Which means I will have Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, as JK Rowling intended, and I will not have localized spelling.

Gotta love how easy Amazon makes international ordering. My Amazon US account works on Amazon UK, and Amazon offers currency changing on my debit card at such a small fee I don't notice it until I calculated it out.

They are. But this is the comedians from 8 Out of 10 Cats playing Countdown in a comedic fashion. Wikipedia says it's been on since 2012.

No, that's not it. She's nice, but not enough of a reason. Besides, I think I find Susie Dent more attractive. I generally prefer brunettes to blondes.

True, although they are both very nice, funny & bright. Just the kinetics of Rachel can be quite captivating.

But as for the comedians they generally make an addictive quiz show very fun & seem even shorter.
