You know most Californians who didn't move there or are only first or second generation are really Okies, right, Woody? Okies with a heavy dose of pretendin'... :P
I would think so, seeing how I am technically first gen American since mom immigrated here, so did most of her cousins, hardly see any pretendin okies

Sell Texas back to Old Mexico? That's like sayin' "Sell Russia back to the Tartars." Jist makes no frickin' sense, son.

That is some righteous awesome science, man. +1

Man I sure have been lucky familywise.
Meh. Mine has been hit or miss. My sister is a total spacecase. She has an RN license, yet can't hold a job and is now (somehow-details are not forthcoming) unable to even work in the field. So she has been hitting up ME for cash (because I live thriftily, and me and my wife work hard). My daughter Julia is so toxic that my wife has finally severed all ties wiht her. I still keep in contact, hoping against hope that real life will give her a clue, but if she keeps up her b$+~!~~$, I will eventually cut her off, daughter or no.
I have also been burned by people covering for their 'kin' while professing to be my good friends. When you take the side of the douchebag over the steadfast ally because douchebag and you share ancestors, well, you are welcome to have them. I ain't sticking around for that scene.

The funds I have been waiting for snuck into my bank account overnight. Barring any unexpected snags, I shall be back on two wheels Monday!
Does happy tentacled wolfy kind of dance. It's kind of disturbing, perhaps you shouldn't watch. At the very least, make Sanity checks.

Congratulations! Enjoy the bike and be safe.

2 days left until the Memorial Day Weekend. It can't come fast enough, between the crap I've been dealing with at work the past three weeks and my wife's end of school year crush it's been rough (Although not nearly as rough as others on this thread have experienced lately). 3 days of nothing sounds very good.
Weekend plans call for playing my first character in Oblivion (at the behest of my youngest son), an attempt at a PFS game through d20pro with my middle son who is still in Minnesota, and probably keeping my wife company* in her classroom as she finishes up all of her student caseload stuff.
*Which means a great opportunity to prep for the following Friday's Runelords game and more norse dwarf character creation.

Good morning FAWLTIES
The Queenslanders won the first game of the State of Origin Rugby League series. (The best players are selected from the teams to play for the state that they were born in or first played Rugby League in). State of Origin I highlights
Hi 8th Dwarf,
I really like Rugby, the rest is spoilerd because of the no-sport-ruleThe clip you Linked was quite fun but a bit strange for me.
No srcum or ruck (correct terms?)? Is it because it's Rugby League not Rugby Union?
The little kick with the sole was also new to me, haven't seen that in Six Nations, there's a ruck in that situations I think
Thanks for posting it.
I am looking foreward to the world up

E7- I'm so sorry you're going through a rough time right now. Deaths in the family make us all crazier than usual. I don't get along very well with my sister in law, but I have learned to tolerate her. I do like my nephew(s and nices in law?), as well as my half brother in law, but my mom raised me more or less on her own, and kinda took me to other people's houses to visit family members and friends of the family and then go home at the end of the day, which really isn't the best way to show someone how to spend time with family, at least in my experience. I dunno. I'm an only child, I'm weird, or so I am told.

Good Morning FaWTL, and welcome to my Friday.:) I had an old gaming friend of mine, back in town from Louisville last night. It was good to see him and he was glad to meet Jude. Anyone know anyone who games in Louisville? Or if there is a Venture Captain down that way?
We are off to visit my wife's family for the long weekend. It should be fun. I managed to get a bunch of castings of Hirst Arts blocks done last night so I can continue assembling the Lepidstadt Courthouse.
What are we going to do today, Brain?

I have found Herolab helpful for converting older Realms characters and monsters, but I haven't figured out how to input custom spells from outside the program. I still love the Realms. Alas I only GM in them these days, but hopefully Diane and I will get to get back to playing Kingmaker soon.

Sorry to hear about the family troubles, E7.
We're up to our neck in it here. My mother is on the verge of leaving her husband, which in my book is a good thing. As it is, my sister and I have refused to see or talk to my step father for the past several years, and my brother is close to taking the same step. (That's nothing we initiated, by the way - he refused to have any contact with us, and we're content to leave it that way because he's not worth the effort.) He's a toxic and arrogant man. Still, they've been married 25 years, and my mother is the ultimate enabler. It's hard.
My partner's family, though, is driving me nuts. Both his mother and his brother complain about being stuck in their own lives, but think the idea of us moving is stupid. They don't understand that my partner is not like them, and what is right for one person may be different than what is right for you. His mother, in particular, has made an art out of passive-aggression, the guilt trip, and repeatedly making bad decisions (or indecisions) and then looking for sympathy. It's making everything harder than it needs to be.

Yep. Seen my share of that as well. It's sad that you can like people you've never met more than your own flesh and blood.

Okay, now I feel really bad. The kidlet was so delirious with fever yesterday that today he can't even remember what he did to get suspended in the first place. And he's very disappointed to not be able to participate in the class concert, but since he's still sick he wouldn't have been able to anyways. Poor kid. And I'm afraid he's going to end up missing field day on Friday as well if this cold doesn't clear up.

Family, those people in this world most likely to drive you totally insane. Usually for bad reasons.
