So short week for everyone, we have Ascension Day next thursday, naturally I take vacation on friday to get 4 days weekendI missed this the first time around...
"Ascension Day"? What's that? I thought we had the Stargate here in Colorado Springs. Daniel Jackson did the Ascension thing but we don't have a special day commemorating that.
(Actually, we do kind of have a giant Stargate in a park here...)

You'd think that for 11 million dollars, the fountain would work more than 40% of the time.

Think of it as an investment so that all the homeless people have a place to go and trash.

Good day Fawtlies, another day of work ahead for me. Still psyched about the pathfinder minis. Major financial planning for me to attend paizocon 2012 are afoot, I think it'll be likely I'll be there. FAWTLcon isn't realistic for me unfortunately because of the loss of my funding and no definite job prospects for the fall plus the moving expenses. But maybe FAWTLcon 2012 if it happens.
Well then I shall probably see you there, because I'm back to Vancouver in August and the only time I'm traveling anywhere again is to go to Seattle.

By that time, they'll have you on a watch list and turn down your visa. ;-)

I still keep in contact, hoping against hope that real life will give her a clue, but if she keeps up her b&$~%~@*, I will eventually cut her off, daughter or no.
I have also been burned by people covering for their 'kin' while professing to be my good friends. When you take the side of the douchebag over the steadfast ally because douchebag and you share ancestors, well, you are welcome to have them. I ain't sticking around for that scene.
Ahhhh....family. Mine is the reason why I chose to change my name. There is just something wrong with the blood on my father's side.

Sanity check? What is this strange mechanic you speak of?

Jess, perfect! I have been watching lots of anime during my convalescence, which also makes me think of my lectures on Japanese religion. Does "no" reliably translate in one particular way, or is it uber contextual? It's everywhere: names, concepts, beings...I gotta kNOw!

Just a word of advice for those who are in the construction field. Keep your damn over pour within a few inches of the f&%#ing footer if you please. Termite techs really do HATE having to drill because the damn over pour comes out 2 f+~&ing feet from the damn foundation!!!
Thank you for time.

Hey LPM.
I see how it is now. Aberzombie said he was going on a family trip, but he really has taken Jess to an undisclosed location. Bastard! And he probably forgot all about the thing that I asked him!
Okay, you forced it out of me. We're all getting together on a private island that I bought with the bounty I collected for taking out Galactus.

No in English? Or no in Japanese?
English know would usually be "iie" in Japanese if that's what you're asking. Colloqualisms and dialects can change it a bit to "ie", "iya", stuff like that...
"No" in Japanese, I'd need context. The most common "no" in Japanese is the possessive. It's essentially indistinguishable from apostrophe s ('s). Jessica no tama = Jessica's ball.

Why? Why would they do that? It's more work for everybody, and it's expensive. This makes no sense.

Nice! Thanks for the response, man. I was starting to get worried.
By the way, Drew Pocza sent me an e-mail asking about life in Savannah (he's moving to Hilton Head). Should I refer him to you?

Sure. And if you trust him, you can give him my cell number. Just tell the truth and inform him on how much a pain in the ass I am. I might as well get the truth out sooner than later. ~grins and runs~

Don't get me started.
I will say that Paizo getting onto the Great Firewall's block list (and my hacking through it) speaks quite loudly of the greatest failures of Chinese policy: pointless and ineffective censorship.
