Yes, I did cut it while naked!

Yeah, you definitely need a haircut.

Crookshanks got her first taste of crazy rural conservative ladies (that aren't related to her) this week.

That was an eye opener for her!

She was called "Little Missy" more than once, told not to "Give her no lip" for voicing her opinion and was told at least three times "Why don't you let the men do that, they're MUCH stronger!".

A credit to Crookshanks, she didn't say a thing, just walked away every time.

Thankfully, we're done with that place.

I was pretty excited going back to the pergola job, figured I'd be able to leave the concrete mixing behind and lay down some pavers, make a few tricky cuts, that sort of thing.

I'm back at the pergola job at least, unfortunately I have a water feature base and two fence bases I have to pick up the concrete for and mix.

Yeah she's got tons more patience than me. I'd've laid into that bat with language that would blister paint.

Should I have you undergo the Targetmaster process so you can help Crookshanks blast away at her foes?

is this the same place we need to drive through to frighten/anger the locals by our appearance alone?

No, that's the very last thing you should do. I don't trust my temper enough to own a gun, and I definitely wouldn't trust my temper as a gun.

Edit: Besides, if you or I had access to that tech, I'd much rather be Shatter.

also, Soundwave was silly.

I really don't get where people say all these reboots are *ruining* franchises.

I went back and watched some old 80s cartoons.

They do NOT age well.

I'm pretty sure, for me at least, it was nostalgia and only nostalgia holding together the likes of Ninja Turtles, He-Man and Transformers. As an adult, they're all just terrible.

(Besides, I was a Micro Machines guy)

(Which, apparently are being remade as of this year)

If you want real pain, watch the original Highlander movie.

What did we see in that again? (Other than the incredible soundtrack?)

So, just how intrusive is modern technology?

Mother-In-Law needs a new place, so, since my locked-down Firefox is bad with inset maps and so forth, I used Google Chrome to go to Zillow and search for apartments in Berkeley. I never entered any information; I just went to the Zillow site and looked at a couple of apartments.

Now I'm getting daily email updates from Zillow about apartments available in Berkeley.

In other words, Zillow asked Chrome for my email address and Chrome cheerfully handed it over.

This may be the straw that makes me uninstall Chrome entirely. I mean, seriously? Giving away my email address to a third-party site without my very explicit permission?

No. Just... no.

You gotta diversify your search history! Look for some missile silo properties in Eastern Oregon and stilt houses in the bayou.

Oh, gods of the underworld, so much this...

Connery bantering with Lambert.

Lambert bantering with his secretary.
Lambert bantering with Kurgan.

A few flashbacks from the past (scene with the Nazi was fun, the drunk duel was fun - though I am not sure if it was in the 1st movie)

That's basically sums it up, the one liners, the gags, and nice Scotland's sceneries.

When I watched it in 200x... It hit me how terrible was the swordfight choreography.

You're going to lecture me about triple-changers being energy-inefficient after all the energy wasted in a war lasting for frelling millions of years?!

Heh,

Personally, I dont care if anyone else likes it or not, STILL a fun flick!
:)
The TV show also was excellent, (I actually know stunt/swordsmen who worked on that series)
I'm not saying that they are 'ageless', or that they've aged well, I still like them,
SOME of the 80's films are still fun BECAUSE they were so bad, (He-Man live action movie anyone?!? Or the original Conan the Barbarian?) ;)

I mean, honestly, what do I look for in a modern movie?
Mostly is it fun? (one-liners, zingers, bantering, scenery, ... yep, same thing I did in the 80's! :)

'Conan' wasn't quite as pungent a cheese as 'Highlander', but nonetheless... It definitely had more in common with the comics, or Lin Carter's daft pastiches, than it did with the original tales, but maybe that's what cinema-goers were after at the time.

Heh,

MY daughter 'Princess' had the exact opposite reaction this summer.
LAST summer she worked for NASA Space Camp, and they paid well.
THIS year due to Covid/Cutbacks she did not get to return, so took a job at a local summer camp.

She had gotten used to knowing that her Space Camp pay had arrived in her bank account, because she would see a big jump in her account.

The dismay when she realized that she HAD been paid by the local summer camp, and how small it was in comparison to the previous summer, was highly entertaining.

To me. :)
