Getting soaked by tropical storm Ragadolf (I forgot what the weather person called it, this works).

It's our first triple-digit day of the year.

104.

Yes, I know that's like 12 in Celcius, which is my only argument for retaining Fahrenheit. If it's this miserable out, the number to explain just how miserable it is needs to be an impressive one. Celcius isn't designed to impress.

This. 313 degrees is way more impressive than 104.

It's 40... temperature to die in... As is anything higher than 80/26...

Speaking of dying, I started playing Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners Of The World and after less than 30 minutes I am nauseous...

No, it's not the pile of corpses in the prologue... It's simply the graphic engine that wrecks havoc with my labirynth. Some fpps, especially older ones are doing that. A shame, because the game looks feels promising :(

You Murikans need to have everything bigger. What is wrong with 40 being the temperature of death anyway?

But no, it need to be 101% of this, 200% of that... 1000% everywhere!

It turns out that mixing 2,000 pounds of concrete mix with a shovel in a wheel barrow over a two day period leaves you with sore shoulders.

Who knew!

On the plus side, with tropical storm Ragadolf settled in for tomorrow I should have an easy day of drilling boulders.

I was wrong.

Somehow, I don't think of Celsius as going up to 40... I generally don't think of it as going past the mid-20's (mostly because when I use a recipe from outside the US, the temp is listed in Gas Marks, which I have memorized.)

About to go home. Good night, everyone.

I first met my wife when I visited the zoo. The moment I saw her in that uniform I just knew she was a keeper.

My friend got home the other day and found that every single lamp and bulb in his house had been stolen. He was absolutely de-lighted.

I bought my niece a ceramic elephant for her room. She said "Thanks." I told her "Don't mention it."

Yeah well all my doors were stolen. So his problem is just a-door-able compared to mine.

0 is freezing water, ca. 36-37 is normal human temperature, 100 is boiling water. 180, 200, and 220 are typical temperatures set upon my oven.

Normal summer temperatures during my childhood were in high twenties, with low 30 being extreme, nowday mid-30s are prevalent, and high thirties not uncommon... *sigh*

Oh, I had too many games and they had to post up this:

Bundle For Racial Justice And Equality. Over 1400 more games?! *sigh*

They should be more clear on the handling of the games? Do they act as a cloud server where the games can be kept while not played? Are the purchases a one-time download? FAQ isn't helpful.

Same here as well. You could have temperatures hitting 30, usually at the end of summer when everything has been warmed trough, and then usually only a day or two.

Now we easily hit the 30s, and last summer we got days over 40 degrees.

Ooh, what swords do you have?

LOL, Not an impressive collection, I can't afford to buy the 'cool' movie replicas. :)

My swords are stage-combat worthy, so I can (and do) use them in stage productions. (Member of SAFD 'Society of American Fight Directors" As an Actor -Combatant, certified in a few classes of weapons. Hand to Hand, Broadsword, Quarterstaff, Rapier and dagger, Single sword. Trained but NOT certified in a few others.) ;)

I have a large flexible broadsword, a Bell-cup musketeer blade rapier, a Swept-hilt -Schlager-blade rapier, a solid parrying dagger for Rapier & dagger work, a short sword the width of a broadsword. And a assorted collection of fencing practice swords (rapiers and sabres) that I have accumulated.

Not impressive, but a lot of fun! :)

This of course does not include the growing collection of collectible, combat-worthy lightsabers, and growing assortment of home-made padded weapons! ;P

In a low point/lull? Sure. Dying. Nope.

I love Transformers. They were my number 1 toy growing up. And I'd still rather the entire toyline have died than Bay gotten his hands on them. His misogynist, racist, nerd-hating, jock-douchebro-loving, makes-you-dumber-for-watching stench-take is now the goto mental image of the franchise for a generation of fans, and the fandom is significantly poorer for it.

His movies are poorly written, poorly staged, poor filmed, and poorly edited. They're lazy, unambitious, confusing, and stupid. But the greatest sin of all is: they're all f~%%ing duller than watching paint dry.

Clearly, we disagree.

I'm with Freehold,

Gonna Have to agree to disagree on that one Amby.
The Micheal Bay Transformer movies were many things, not all great, but they were ANYthing but boring! (IMHO) ;)

So yesterday, since I went from school to the grocery store to home in a car with no AC and had managed to torque my back all weird moving shelves and tables around, I figured, since I was already hot and tired and hurt, then I was already complaining about the things I was bound to complain about if I pushed the lawnmower around, so first I made soup, and then I did the lawn.

Today it is only 305K, which is far more reasonable.

I will side with Amby, in the first one with Mark Wahlberg (the third or fourth movie) they spend more time explaining age of consent laws then they do the plot.

The plots are formulaic at best, the graphics confusing and the dialogue is some of the worst outside of high school drama class.

It didn't rain right away so instead of drilling holes in boulders I drilled holes in the cement that I poured yesterday to mount a mailbox to it.

Which took me most of the day.

And then I got to mix even more concrete.

Tomorrow we hopefully go back to the house with the robot pergola as our pavers have finally arrived (they sent the wrong pavers last time).

Yeah, we were supposed to get rain starting at 2 eastern. No rain so far as of almost 6 eastern. I could have vacuumed my pool another round. *grumble*

I saw a bit of the first Transformers movie but it didn't keep my attention long enough for me to remember much of it, other than that I found pretty much every single character (human, transformer, or decepticon) insufferably annoying, so I saw no need to see any more of them.

We've cooked off a solid 40k since Cristobal came through.

Maneater is pretty fun, what little I've played (long enough to eat twenty people).

There is a new show on Netflix called Trigger Warning with Killer Mike.

I highly, highly recommend it.
