Why do people insist on feeding troll threads?

Have you ever dropped bread into a goldfish pond? It's got a certain fascination to it, watching the water practically boil with activity. After a couple of times, it gets old though.

In Soviet Russia, trolls feed you.

I don't want to derail what looks to be a fun thread, so I'll just post here that I think censorship is <redacted>. But, that's just what I think.

Made out of Krazy Straws, yes, but rails.

Which thread is this? I have a few bread crumbs to toss out.

Pants. I'm wearing pants before 9. Sadism.

Cherry? Is that you?

Nope, I'm me, last I checked. ;-)

Taig - %30 is no joke, especially if you don't like the job. I care too much about myt family time, if it meant being closer to loved ones AND a significant pay raise, I couldn't in all good conscience turn it down. That's ju my 2 cents of course.

Beware the terrifying Redactyl, most mysterious of all dinosaurs.

Never mind...looks like you found it. :)

I went ahead and told my boss to pursue it. It's not a sure thing, since there's some arrangement of funds or whatever, so I told him I have to know by the end of the day tomorrow.

It's less about the money than it is about being 1.5 hours away from my family instead of 5 hours, even if it was going to be for a few months.

Yeah when I un-focused it was like a glowing neon green troll thumb sticking out screaming to be skittled upon.

Morning, Fawtly folks.

And Gregg, I saw were you tried to trick me with poisoned PIE. But as I opened my mouth, and the fumes of the piece on my fork wafted to the back of my mouth, I yanked the fork out before a deadly squirt of its toxic filling touched my innards. WHEW! Thank God for the my speedy sense of smell! I have a feeling that I dodged another Blue Waffle. My condolences to those who had to seek therapy for this elsewhere.

My only hope is to finish eating it, then throw up.

When I accept an offer, there is generally no counter offer I will accept - because they are aware I was looking, and ready to leave. And I assume they will pay to keep me because they think that they will need more than two weeks to replace me, and they would rather lose me on their terms...nevermind I'm then without any job opportunities. Because that's not their problem.

I might be cynical and jaded, though. :(

I understand that. I took a counteroffer once, and I regretted it, but at that time I wanted to leave the company and I really should have just walked away.

In this situation, I am contracting, and I had communicated my desire to go full time, and my boss was searching for ways to make that happen. I think he thought he had more time, since my 12-month contract (which was up at the end of May) was extremely likely to get renewed for 6 months. I didn't communicate anything to my boss about looking until I turned in my notice, which is how I would have approached things if I was already full-time.

Bleh.

A counter-offer of 30% more than what you're getting in GA ... and to remain closer to home. I get what you're saying ...

...but 30%.

My gal kept fretting about going back to Cincy, but having a full-time job that's a 37% increase here in Columbus in comparison to what she was earning in Cincy ... is hard to ignore. So whatever plans she had of returning back home and taking the rest of us with her has been put off indefinitely.

And now it's up for me to come up with my end of the bargain.

Mmmm jalapeno pepper in steak burrito and a Dr. Pepper....the highlight of my Monday.

...with that, I begin next Monday as a full-time student. Fourteen credit hours. I have to be on campus M & W from 3 - 8 for Composition and Math and my Humanities course is web.

...and that course? Something PhDiddy can teach by the back of his hand. ;-)

Details on FB.

Brief answer: I'm taking Beginning Algebra II (103). Was supposed to take Math 102 - Beginning Algebra, but retested to try to take a condensed course of MATH 102 and first half of 103 (107). Since I no longer need 102, 107 is thereby irrelevant as I get to start in 103.

Whether a hamster will exit a cardboard tube and make its way to a lit match.

Spoiler:

It will, but at velocities and levels of combustion that are largely unacceptable.

The boss is wise.

Hey, boss.

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Mainly I was checking to see how fragile something was. Turns out it's apparently not that fragile.

Still waiting for that other thing to break, though. Wish it had a progress bar.

And...of course posting was heavy today.

There is brand new PIE in the oven. Check the sill to see which oven.

Yes, that sounds like a CAPITAL IDEA. Who is this Cherry that shares in my loathing of restrictive leg-wear?

Shadow Lodge

Bah! I'm wearing pants (ABU pants, even) well before 9 AM, and well after 9 PM most days. Count yerself lucky! And say hi to the gang for me!

I wonder how the Major would react if I didn't wear pants...

Probably not a good idea.

Almost an hour and not done yet. Might be about halfway through, though. In the meantime, I would like to point out that harbor seals are fat and lazy.
