I like flitting through crowds myself.

You do know those are commas and not apostrophes, right?

Sometimes I think I'm getting baited into a sarcastic response.

"Excuse me, do you know the price for this" the lady asked as she flourished her hand at the sale sign that said exactly how much it cost in bold twelve inch tall letters.

Eye twitches, ever so slightly.

"Sorry, Ma'am, I don't work the floor, just the stock room. But if you ask Bill over there," point at no-one "he'll be able to tell you." Then walk away.

lol You guys are reminding me how happy I was the day I quit Walmart. Literally everyone had to say they had never seen me so happy.

I hates dealing with crowds, but at least we're not rowdy here.

So it's just squeeze. If someone leans inappropriately on me, I warn him once. Second time I shove back.

So far there hasn't been a third time.

I love shopping at my FLGS. They're pretty awesome.

You see, instead of the snark when a person asks for a price right in front of them on a listed sign, I tend to go direct with a "What are you, f$~~ing retarded? It's right there. Holy s$+! you're stupid!"

It may have something to do with my unemployment.

Already done with Christmas shopping for the General.

Except for the distraction present I have the kids pick out, they don't need to know I got her mostly lingerie.

Long winter nights have many benefits.

No problem with crowds.

Property Manager: Hey, NH! We finally have someone willing to look at the house. But they have a 30-pound dog. Is that OK?
NobodysHome thinks to himself: "I don't care if they have a deformed midget they want to house under the stairs. Let's get that place rented!"
NobodysHome: Sure! No problem!

Isn't that the plot for Harry Potter.

I miss having one.

I don't understand how that's politically incorrect. Is it the use of the word "midget"? I know little people is the preferred vernacular, but there are multiple disorders that lead to various body types of little people, IIRC, and doesn't that help distinguish which one?

Mind you, my source was Brad Williams, a hilarious LP comedian (seriously, he's filthy - he had a joke where he talks about women who have LP fetishes, and one wanted to paint him blue - he's like "sure she called me a smurf, but by the end of the night I had her calling me Papa Smurf!")

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The best part is that the icon they gave me was actually Papa Smurf for that post.

So my Wednesday night and Thursday of "I love being home; this is the most bestest place ever and I love my family so much" turned into a Friday and Saturday of unadulterated hell as my sister's pregnancy hormones and exhaustion prompted her to get meaner and meaner, until she and my husband got into a rollicking fight after my mom's dog bit my son on the ear.
We already have the car packed and I am more or less hiding in the guest room until it's time to leave. I told mom I'm not sure if we'll be up here for spring break. Right now I just want to go home and cry.

That sounds like a typical Midwestern thanksgiving to me.

Which is also why I never, ever stay with family more than two days.

That's why downtown Gothenberg is still intact.

My idea of 'local' may be a bit different, given that our best store is 45 minutes away...

2 people marked this as a favorite.

One of the nice parts of moving - our FLGS is literally less than a mile away! And the owner is super nice, and cool with you coming by to just hang out without buying anything!

I also MAY have found a Pathfinder group. He's apparently looking for people, though I may have to GM again because they're (like everyone in the universe it seems) short on GMs.

I've not yet found a store in my general area at all. There's one that has minis and board games but no D&D/PF stuff, that's about the closest I've found.

There's also the used bookstore which has lots of stuff, but it's not really a gathering place for people like a FLGS usually is.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I want to *own* a FLGS. But Backwater, Middle-of-Nowhere County, TN isn't exactly a location with good business prospects in that regard. Some friends and associates are in the industry, but they've got good things going in the likeliest places for me to set up a shop.

We've all gotta have dreams, though. :)

We have four stores around town, but this being the heart of D&D country only two of them carry a decent supply of Pathfinder (the other two carry the hardcover books but I can't afford them).

Then get this one.

Speaking of which: Oh my goodness, the exchange outside this thread was cringe-worthy. I feel bad that the person in question has such a strong persecution complex (assuming that's what is actually going on).

So we saw "Coco" this afternoon, and have to add to the "what a great movie" crowd. Impus Major declared it his new favorite Disney movie.

I didn't think it was THAT memorable, but definitely another solid Pixar effort.

I grabbed a bag of chips and actually read through *most* of that one . . . .

Wow.

Best drama I've read in months. :|

Anyhow. I finally have my living space back, just for me!! Had a great holiday, but it was *crowded*. :)

Xorn, XornsWife, The Chunk, and TinyPrincess returned home earlier today. The Chunk has continued to respond well to his medication, and was his usual, jovial self the past 36+ hours.

He's cool enough to almost make me want a kid of my own, . . . . But being *just* the uncle has TONS of advantages. :D

And there's that whole _____________ space where I'd want/need a "TerrigansWife". :)

Just as well.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Back to the grindstone!!

I got a new belt, that's pretty exciting.

I found NPC Codex at Half Price Books for 14.99 (which is less than half price) could've gotten Unchained but decided it wasn't the book for me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Half Price Books is also one of my favorites. I miss Borders, though. Barnes and Noble doesn't carry the range of Computer books that Borders used to. Oh, well.
