But enough! I go now to spread joy and wonder amongst the multitudes! Peace and chicken grease!

Nekkid spreading of joy?!? But of course!

Although it would have been more awesome if the Boobie comment had been TotP. Nekkid boobies are awesome!

Don't let my wife hear you say that. She'd never let you visit.

I feel so loved.

The blogging elves have been busy while I've been asleep:

Pandaroo
Flying Squirrelobo
Taranturaptor
Cuttlephant
Stomatopetrel
Pterodactwhale
Piranhatee

Back to work for me...

Christmas was good, but I have a heavy heart today.

Spoiler:
One of my friends at work, about my age (early 30s), died in his sleep on Christmas Eve. No one knows what happened. He was active and took good care of himself.

I knew he and his wife were looking to buy a house to start a family in. I found out today that she is 3 months pregnant. They were going to announce it on Christmas.

I am at a loss for words.

at least something of him will life on in the child, but I can't even imagine how hard the pregnancy will be for her]

And by ninja you mean being so loud that people go deaf and don't hear you anymore?

My godfather died in his sleep when he was forty-something. Brain aneurysm that no one know of. Almost certainly he didn't know of it either.

My condolences, CH.

Oh CH, that's dreadful. The only good to come out of things like that is the reminder of how precious each day and each person we love is and to treasure them. I hope the young lady has family and friends that will rally to support her during these difficult times to come.

Damn sorry to hear that. Thoughts and prayers to them.

Orientation went well. Place seems like it will rock when we open.

Oh, to my Houston peeps, volunteering at OwlCon this year (no GMing, personally cannot STAND the way dude running PFS here now does things and don't need the hassle), so hopefully, if not sooner, I'll get to hang with all of the new to Houston FAWTLY clan I haven't been able to see yet :-)

That's horrible. *electronic hugs*

And having followed sports long enough to know that sort of thing can happen doesn't help at all.

My condolesceneces to the mother andbride to be. That really sucks, especially of Christmas Eve.

:(

I pop by randomly and yell about coffee...and post weird haikus. Otherwise I lurk but I am sorry to hear about this, that sucks.

That is just brutal, especially this time of the year. Much love to the mother to be.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. I did not mean to squelch the usual FAWTL banter.

A few months ago, John and I were at the mall and I pointed out this little leather boutique that had the nicest briefcases (with shoulder straps, of course). He remembered it and went back to that store to buy it for me. I was flabbergasted. He is the best.

That's awful. :( I'd ask you to give her a hug from a random Internet slaad, but that sounds uncomfortably weird any way it's phrased. I hope she has the family and friends and financial resources to see her and the little one through what are sure to be very difficult times.

You should be writing monster movies-of-the-week for SyFy... you'll have a year's worth from just this Mashup Marathon alone.

I just got a new visual novel on Steam named Long Live the Queen, and I just can't seem to win.

I like this one too. Now we just need a utahraptor ostrommaysorum fossil, a bird-eating tarantula, James Jacobs, and a Brundle™ telepod.

As a cat owner someone who feeds cats daily, this really isn't that different from a regular cat. :) I see that look most mornings. Many Maine Coons even like water.

(And seriously, housecats should totally have Improved Trip as a bonus feat.)

Yikes!

Yes, I definitely fell back on my decades of experience with the cats who have inhabited my house for the sharkat. :)

Is the crippo adorable because of the after-deathgrip ability, or in spite of it?

This is why I'm not a Joan Embery or Jack Hanna. Even knowing the crippo's abilities, if they looked like that picture, I'd still get way too close for my safety, all the while saying "Oh, aren't you just the cutest!" and trying to pet it.

Edit: I missed the fact that they are actually Medium. Which means I'd be oooing a bunch of adorable baby crippos and completely miss mama crippo sneaking up behind me.

Convenient one-stop shop for the monsters so far:

Arachnishark
Pandaroo
Flying Squirrelobo
Taranturaptor
Cuttlephant
Stomatopetrel
Pterodactwhale
Piranhatee
Dinoflagellate Starling
Lumihound
Gazelligator
Moose Shark
Zebrull Ant
Crippo
Dolphiroo
Deagle
Tuxedorca
Sharkat
Duckigator

I have scheduled monster #25, so I'm done. Writing up a bunch of (sorta) goofy monsters ended up being a lot more work that I expected. :)

Ugh. I can't stop coughing. I woke up an hour ago (5:30) and just could not stop. I have given up trying to get back to sleep and logged onto Paizo instead of going back to sleep. At least this way John may be able to sleep a little longer.

This is way to early to be awake on a Saturday, but I have nothing going on today so later on I can nap to my heart's content.

Silver Crusade

Or I can spend the day using the PS3 John got for Christmas from his family. Among other things, I got him Skyrim.

*Yawn*

I went to sleep around 1:00 AM but could not sleep until 3:00 AM when father was getting up to work.

I was wondering why you were up so early, CH. I hope you don't have the flu.

I'm up because my CPAP breathing tube filled with water. I know some of you like that *bubble-bubble* sound. Not me.

I seem to be mastering the wrist/pan-flicking-egg-toss-flip maneuver. It keeps me from dirtying spatulas when I'm frying a single egg. But I still do it over the sink, just in case. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work - even in nonstick pans - without a generous amount of butter in the skillet.

Spoiler:

Unfortunately. Heh.

In other news, is it possible to love a kitchen utensil? Because with how I feel about my Exopat baking mats, it may be the real thing.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk!! Happy Saturday!!! Been hanging out with my boy and the princess for the last hour and a half. My girl's been sleeping, so Charlie and I are watching Toy Story.
