Trying to keep the boy quiet while mommy gets some extra rest. Tis a challenge most extreme.

Scarab Sages

Whoa, no wonder I feel a draft.

Tasty bacon and winning at Settlers of Catan. Good way to start the day.

Scarab Sages

And now.....coffee!

My boy got a camera for Christmas. I was going through its memory yesterday (which he'd already filled) and had to start deleting pictures - tons of which were of....absolutely nothing.

So long as it doesn't become a "bacon yesterday and bacon tomorrow, but never bacon today" kind of situation.

Tonight is our annual New Year's Eve game day/night, not actually on New Year's Eve, because New Year's Day decided to be all inconsiderate and fall on a Wednesday this year. I'm looking forward to playing board games that I play once a year. :)

You should play more.

Why can't I stop listening to "Thrift Shop"?

Because it's a weirdly catchy song.

"I'm gonna pop some tags..."

I know Macklemore's name the big one, but I think the reason Thrift Shop is so catchy is because of Ryan Lewis.

♪♫ We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Badger New Year. ♫♪

Naw, sounds too painful.

When the clock strikes 12, the badgers rip your faces off. I don't think anyone wants that.

yesterday I cooked 3 liters of vegetable soup - it may have been a bit excessive

yesterday we ate it with bread and meatballs
today we will it it with pancakes
the rest will go into the freezer

didn't that result in an addition to the family last time...?
:-D

CH, please heal up. And my deepest condolences - that's a nightmare.

Just coming out of holiday wackiness to go back to work on Monday. I am very well rested at least....

Hiya, Freehold. Hope all is well with you.

Things are going quite well actually - I've just been busy with holiday wackiness - holiday calls, mom coming over at strange intervals, trying trying to get my hookah to work(Don't worry folks - no hashish, shisha or tobacco for me, just fruit flavors of molasses), and planning games and bill paying and seeing old friends and stuff. Things will probably go back to normal on Monday when I go back to work.

Advice that may or may not be helpful to Treppa

* takes notes *

Spoiler:

I have my résumé off to an old HR friend of mine for a once-over and perhaps some advice on modifying it to fit various positions I've applied for. Of course, modify it too much and you get into veracity issues.

What amazes me is how much very specific experience retailers want for the lowest positions. You want to measure and cut fabric at Jo-Ann's? You better have a BA in accounting and five years of experience for an entry-level slot!

That's something I no longer have to worry about. My wife had it "taken care of" since they were already in there.....

I'm glad you find this amusing. Why don't you give me your phone number, and the next time it happens I can call you up to share in the joy.

Scarab Sages

Seriously though, changing multiple poop diapers at 0330 when you have to get up for work at 0500 is a blast!

I would never let that happen!!

I was going to go over to the Boot Barn this afternoon - a buddy at work let me on to the store as a good source for Fire Resistant Clothing, which I need for my upcoming trip out to the rig. One of the stores in the chain is not too far from my house.

Sadly, in looking up the address, I noticed they have no store hours on Saturday. Monday through Friday & Sunday only. Weird.

It would be horrible when zombies attacked me live on the air, but... It would be worth it.

Thanks man!

Is there any zombie invasion movie, book or game that would take place during winter?

May you have more luck and faster response than me, FHDM.

May we both know raise a glass at the end of our struggles, chummer! To gainful employment at a place that treats us like people!

But Drejk isn't a people, he's a dragon. Shouldn't he be gainfully employed somewhere that treats him like a dragon? You know; the fear, the piling of gold and jewels for him to lay upon, the offering up of virgin princesses for sacrifice, etc.

I know that's my dream.
