Another thing I thought of that would be cool is an "awakened construct" template. Basically a construct with human-like intelligence and free will.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

More templates (can get a lot of use out of them)
Maniac/madman template (like the one from the d20 Modern Menace Manual)
Gravenight/deathknight (a classic that any frpg really needs)
RuneSlave
Golem of obsession (making golems intelligent and maladjusted by their creator's obsessions)- like the ravenloft idea of the Created)
A swarm template (one that takes a really tiny creature and makes a swarm of them- have been wanting to get a swarm of stirges for some time now)
Dream creatures
Mobs/crowds

Some kind of equivalent to living spells from 3.X D&D. Magic gone awry and taken on incarnate form. Living domains might be an idea of divine concepts that have taken on life of their own.

Deathless/undead powered by the positive energy planes.

Genius loci

Clockwork/steamtech creatures.

Pumpkinheads/jack-o-lanterns of some kind

High CR threats that aren't Outsiders or Huge+ monstrosities (these get old after a while- we need more pre-statted threats that aren't from Beyond and can fit in a room).

Aberrations/monstrous humanoids/etc. that arise from the neuroses and distorted perceptions of disturbed minds and social events, like the Phthisic from Psionics Unleashed. Strange, disturbing creatures originating only from the mind of man and are disturbing b/c they are twisted reflections of our hopes and dreams (rather than trying to be completely alien representations of some unknown cosmos).

Things that can't simply be dealt with by giving them an epic beatdown. Haunts for example. Indistinct, immaterial spirits like those from the Genius Guide to Shamans or the 2e D&D book Shaman would be an example.

Creatures with abilities and tactics that change dynamically as the fight goes on, like some of the critters in the 3.5 MMV.

Also, a personal want, the grumpet from Minions by Bastion Press. While certainly not a missing role like some of these other wishes, it was a personal favorite simply for its sheer bizarreness.

More variants of the giant spiders, scorpions, crabs, jellyfish, and centipedes.

More creatures that are like a giant snail(there was one in second edition that had a shell made of gold)

Yeah would love a Jack'o lantern

Silver Crusade

Some new creatures evocative(but not straight up analogues) of recent internet memetic mythology could be great as well.

Something that captures the feel of the Slender Man for example. (I'd kind of want to say it would probably be bad form to actually stat up and quantify THE Slender Man or other such creatures, especially for a commercial publication, but something that evokes the feel of the character and mythos...)

+2. Slender Man can be a cool monster, for many reasons.

My biggest disappointment in Bestiary 2 was no Linnorns. Seriously need MORE Linnorns.

Yes, I agree, can never have too many Fey

good to know (i need this book bloody now ...)

I know of the greater cyclopses ( I like the Ray harryhausen homage no prob with that).
But I would like to see the smiths and architects of anciet times.
How about calling the Stormsmith or Elder Cyclopses

also him
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baryonyx

and him
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcharodontosaurus

A Paizo version of the green Knight would be cool (maybe a Template with a red and Black knight variant)

maybe you could something with them

More types of Sphinxes

Something like those forest spirits that raddle there heads in the anime, "Manonoke Hime", would be cool.

The "Guivre", A serpintine dragon with poisonous breath, lives in wells, poisons any water supply that lives in.

  • Simple template for Elemental versions of flora and fauna. Similar to those found in Strange Lands: Strange Tribes.
  • Simple template for Abyssal and Hellish versions of mundane creatures and plants.

Examples:
- earth sharks swimming underground,
- fire hyenas laughing maniacally in City of Brass docks,
- bleeding and weeping abyssal willow trees.

2nd Editions Kirre. I was happy to se the crypt thing in #2.... but the kirre is my all time fave.

That's basically a linnorm isn't it?

No a Linnorm has arms while the Guivre is a completely serpentine body(no limbs at all) plus the Guivre would only be a CR range of 4-12(depending on size) while linnorms start around CR 12-14.Besides its ability to poison drinking water alone makes it stand out from the other stated dragons.

More types of "dragonnets" like the fairie dragon or psuedo dragon.

Playable plant based race that is humaniod in shape

Playable Fey race that is the same power level range as the standard races up to as strong as the Planetouched races

More templates like a half-fey or Half-elemental.

More simple templateslike celestial or fiendish but for elemental, postive energy, negetive energy, and first world.

I hope that Bestiary III is a long way off. That being said, my wish for its content would be that the developers spend less time updating old material and more time coming up with new creatures. As someone who owns both of the Tomes of Horror, some of the updated creatures were not as interesting to me as they might have been for others that they were new to. I had actually already updated a few of them to PF on my own. I am also not a huge fan of seeing creatures that have been published in APs being re-published.

Shane

There were 3 Tomes of Horror.

Baba Yaga and her hut

Brown Dragon

Yellow Dragon

Give Dragons back their gas breath attacks instead of converting them all to acid. The chlorine gas was my favorite. You could be blinded, poisoned and nausiated.

More Under Sea Creatures

The Leviathan would be cool

The Demi lich

Prismatic and Force dragons if they can be used.

The 100 eyed giant "Argos" and the "Hekatonkheires"

Shadow Lodge

With the Tome of Horrors: Complete coming, many of the monsters listed in this thread already will be covered. :)

Personally, I'd love to see the following in a Bestiary 3:

Aeon, Caen (CR 4) (aeons with power over love and hate)
Aeon, Sige (CR 8) (aeons with the power over sound and silence)

Azata, Noviere (CR 8) (aquatic azata who secure the saftey of good-aligned sea creatures both above and below the waves)
Azata, Shiradi (CR 14) (celestial azata devoted to liberating the oppressed and giving hope to the downtrodden)

Devil, Pleasure (Beliligon) (CR 10) (beautiful female devils who tempt mortals to damnation through lust)

You're thinking of a putto, which aren't technically angels at all. Cherubim are quite different from babies with wings.

Edit: I might have come across more harshly than I meant to. I think a putto would be a fine idea for a new angel. I would hope they save the word "cherub" for the real deal though. (If memory serves, a cherub is more like a shedu or lammasu than a baby with wings.)

Dawww...not a problem...I'll just sacrifice ya to Lamashtu later. ^_~

I kid. I kid. Anywho, I actually was referring to a unique monster I made up (but yeah, a Cherub is from ancient Hebrew religion so the name is sorta off).

I agree with your list Berselius, especially the Golems, Celestar and Ariel Angels, and the Azatas. I have already put the Primal(planar) dragons on my list.

Thanks. I wish I could name the Heavenly and Infernal Primal Dragons Radiant and Hellfire but I'm not sure that would be allowed with WotC's copyright and all that jazz.

I'd also like to see the following as well (but again, WotC's copyright plays a possible factor once again [damn you WotC]):

Chromatic Dragon, Brown (evil dragons of the desert who can manipulate the sand as a ocean deity manipulates the sea)

Chromatic Dragon, Gray (sometimes called "Fang Dragons", they have spiky hides, a poisonous bite, and a foul temperament)

Chromatic Dragon, Purple (enigmatic yet malevolent dragons who dwell in the Darklands and have mind-affecting powers)

Chromatic Dragon, Yellow (ferocious and treacherous dragons of the jungle as fickle as lightning and vile as they come)

Metallic Dragon, Cobalt (valiant dragons of the arctic who protect good-aligned barbarian tribes and value strength above all else)

Metallic Dragon, Orium (wise dragons who dwell in ancient ruins seeking to secure the future by safeguarding the past)

Metallic Dragon, Iron (courageous dragons who are known to be hunters and assassins of evil beings without peer)

Cranium rats

Dark Archive

- Dire weasels (Seconded)
- Magic Animated Armor(Construct) that fights using good tactics and uses weapons. (of various CRs with various scary abilities)
- Dragon People (More like FR Dragonkin - not like 4e Dragonborn)
- Dragon Hounds (Lesser Dragons akin to dogs or bears, without wings)
- Better guidelines for monstrous cohorts.
- Better guidelines for monsters with classes.
- Guidelines for including monsters with a party (a better version of savage species) - One where the monster doesn't lag in feats, hit dice, or skills, but isn't horribly OP. So likely: Monster Classes.
- Guidelines for determining Prices for exotic mounts.
- Some better guides for calculating CRs.

1 CG metallic dragon, and perhaps 3 NG.
1 LE chromatic dragon, and perhaps 3 NE.

What can I say? I like symmetry.

The Piasa

I would prefer some more silly monsters, I fought a calzone-golem once, epic.

Cookie monsters! 'nuff said

I'd really like to see some more of the so-called Spawn of Rovagug - the Tarrasque is referenced as being the most powerful of them, but I'd like to see more. Rovagug's defeat is my favorite part of Golarion's mythos.

While they might be far too powerful, perhaps some stats for the gods' avatars would be fun to play around with.

All that and Divs.

And scary good angels of the "burning wheel" and "thousand tongues and eyes" variety. Maybe like the celestial equivalent of the qlippoth: Good in completely alien form. Mindbreakingly alien if they aren't careful.

Yes. Divs are awesome, full of great flavor and background. Loved them in LoF.

Also the idea of qlippoth-level good outsiders is really interesting.

Back to the material plane, some more arctic based monsters. Also critters linked to civilized races, such as ones that thrive in urban areas or even rural ones, adapted not to a natural environment but rather to a niche transformed by the arrival of intelligent creatures that have an impact on the surrounding wilderness. Parasites, scavengers, predators, symbionts, etc.

Yeah, I agree with Mahorfeus, more spawn of Rovagug would be epic, no pun intended.

Contributor

Given all the support for the graveknight, I'll add a +1 (for very obvious and selfish reasons)
+1 for more spawn of Rovagug
+1 for more mastermind type creatures

Also....
More aberrations
An Aberration template that transforms creatures of most types into an incomprehensible tentacled horror
More Qlippoth
Any other untapped Lovecraftian horrors
(sensing a theme yet?)

More mid-tier undead

A couple variations on the serpentfolk (either caused by greater degeneration than what we see in Bestiary 2 or because of magical alteration that has resulted in them becoming more powerful)

More villainous races, like what WotC gave us with Fiend Folio

More intelligent/hivemind insectoids

*Tanes - More please...

*Pre-Cambrion Mega Fauna

*Skunk-Bear

*Echidna, although it could be argued that we have her in the form of Lamashtu. Maybe the Echidna are a 'race' known as the Wet Nurses of Lamashtu (didn't want to use Hand-Maiden...)

*Nephelim

*Cuegle - three arms, three eyes, and a horn. What's not to love?

*Hecatonchieres

*Talos - its mythological AND a construct. double win.

*Calopus - wolf/bear/goat

*The Slender Man - I hear this somewhere, not sure what it is, but the name stuck - it just sounds...icky

*Lympago - also known as the man tiger, often confused with manticore

*Succarath - ah the dreaded patagonian leaf-tailed tiger wolf

*Keres - proto Harpy death spirit thingies

*Singa - weird thing from the Batak people

*There are MANY mythological creatures from all over the world that feature a single horn similar to a unicorn. This could be a theme worthy of exploration. IIRC a similar thing concerning six-legged creatures was posited at one point in another gaming source. There was hints they all had a common point of origin. Perhaps the uni-horn things could share a common genesis.

*Sleipnir

*Hainu or Blue Dog. - dog with wings

*Calydonean Boar - big mean pig

*Orthrus and Cerebrus - they were brothers you know.

*and while were on the subject of multiple heads, the Ellen Trechend would be cool (three headed Irish Bird)

*Opinicus, Enfield Beast, and other Griffon breeds

*Garuda - nasty bird man thing

*An explanation and exploration as to why Ogre-Magi are now Oni (I love this by the way)

*Capirussa - they breath fire!

*Bluatschink - the dreaded freshwater bear-shark (seriously, sort of...look it up)

*the Re'Em and other Sixth Day monsters that allegedly died in "the Flood". These could make for cool Tanes.

*the Capelobo

I could do this all day...

I'd say more Rakshasa and Asura outsiders based on Vudra as per the CotCT campaign.

In part 3 there is a outsider called the beatific one that appears only once and it's subtype is Asura. Currently there's no listing for a Asura subtype on d20pfsrd due to there being no others.

I'd like to see more to fill out the subtype and so that they could be used in Vudra based campaigns too with more outsiders accociated with the religion as the beafict one is.
