Really? I was a pc in that campaign, probably our dm didn't want to use it again. Kingmaker had the best monsters (zomok, stygira, trollhound, carbuncle ...), also had a lot of plant-monsters.

It's in the Bestiary section of "Pathfinder 33: The Varnhold Vanishing". IIRC, it wasn't used within the adventure.

You want to talk urban legends?
Leg slasher. Any small like goblins or kobolds can hide under wagons and things. Then take extra attacks of oportunity against legs of big folk. It's open to gnomes and halflings that want to hobble them giants.

From David Gemmell books. They're an amalgam of human with a bear, wolf or other beast. Kind of like a Worg, but some of them retain traits and memories from their past lives. I imagine it'd be a template kind of jobby, and I think it'd be a cool tool/calling card for a recurring villain. PC's fond of the curmudgeonly old Druid they befriended? Oh, dear, he's been forcibly melded with his lion animal companion and is now a danger to the population and NOW YOU HAVE TO KILL YOUR FRIEND, BWUHAHAHAHAH........

I'd really like to see an elaborate expansion on the Denizens of Leng. I kind of imagine Leng as a place with several races. I'd dig seeing them get the kind of treatment some of the other outsider races got. I suppose I'm just looking for something to fill the pining void left in my hollow soul left by my beloved but non-SRD githyanki-githzeri.

I don'know if the subject got too off track but I have some suggestions to throw in the pot.

New monster feats
--- it wasn't too cool that the exact same feats from the Bestiary 1 are in Bestiary 2. You wouldn't buy or make a book that had the same monsters, than why do the same on the feats

Bloodline options
--- if the book has a new dragon type, there should be a small side note that states the options available as a variant for those with the dragon bloodline, variant feats amd spells

+2 for ugly celestials, or perhaps celestials in a state of suffering, having under taken vows of bearing plagues or something.

I'd even dig seeing some that were "partially fallen"- wavering on the cusp of sin and redemption such that player's actions could cause them to fall and become terrible adversaries or help them redeem themselves.

One of my all time favorite creatures an online acquaintance created was the clementar angel, or leper angels:

Angels wrapped with fine white bandages like a leper, with wings made of the same flowing material. They're beautiful by default, but they take on the scars and suffering of those they heal.

The only time they themselves are healed of their scars and disfigurments is when they are administered to by their patron deity during a short time of solace, or when they curse those who would inflict disease upon others. On the latter, it's only a permanent, disfiguring curse. The victim remains healthy, but is marked forever by their own deeds.

The angels' only attacks were that curse and hanging bandages that acted as merciful spiked chains(this was 3.5). They were pretty much exclusively medics.

Generally most of the monsters should be based on mythology, not on portmanteaus, but the first bestiaries did already pretty well in that regard.

That's so hot.

I remember reading ages ago that the gnostic Hebrew texts described angels created for every thing and purpose, to the (kinda crazy) degree of an angel coming into existence in the clouds whose sole purpose was to shephard an individual raindrop to the ground, and popping out of existence when the raindrop touched down.

Some sort of 'martyr angels' that exist solely to facilitate the use of healing magic, and having a static pool of hit points that they give of themselves to those healed by clerical magic, dying when their reserve is up, would be a thoroughly creepy way to justify healing spells being 'conjuration magic.' You aren't knitting flesh, you are calling a short-lived outsider, far lower on the chain of being than even a lantern archon, whose sole purpose is to answer the call of this spell, and transfer it's life-energy to the target of the healing spell.

Remove disease and neutralize poison could similarly call down an outsider whose sole function is to take the disease or poison onto themselves and die, taking it with them. (Kind of like magical liver cells, grabbing onto a toxin and suiciding to flush it out of the body.)

Raise dead and resurrection spells would use commensurately larger versions of these martyr angels, descending and imbuing the fallen body with their own life-force, with their sacrifice, opening a conduit between the outer planes and the body, for the soul to return, in a weird sort of 'backwards Jesus,' through their deaths, allowing a soul already in the afterlife to return to the mortal world.

Inflict spells could be made conjuration and work similarly, summoning forth tiny fiends made of death, venom and spite, who, like honeybees, pour their lives into causing pain and injury to others, getting just one 'sting' as the hateful energies that empower them surge into the recipient of the inflict spell, pouring out their tiny lives at the cleric's behest to inflict injury and suffering upon another.

Unrelated to that tangent, the Scarred Lands had a type of plague spirit undead that actually fed on disease. It wasn't benevolent by nature, but in the act of feeding itself (which did some damage to the disease sufferer), it inadvertantly cured them of whatever their disease was (if they survived...).

In the end, 'though, I'd be concerned about how such a creature would interact with storylines based around disease or plague. If one could command a plague eater or call down a leper angel via planar ally/binding/summon monster, such a storyline might be less viable.

It might, but summoning outsiders is still limited and by the time the PCs are calling them, they've sort of bested diseases anyhow. A clever plague plot will work around such a creature, and if written up nicely, it's own moral philosophies might waver on how to handle a plague making things both worse and better. I think adding an ugly angel would be worth the risk.


Speaking of summoning, The thing I'd most like to see in Bestiary 3 is updated summon monster/natures ally that accounts for bestiary 2 and 3

Never going to happen. Devs have said that that would increase the effective power of the spells (well, at least more options making the spells more useful if not any more directly powerful), so the best you might do is swapping out certain creatures on the current lists for ones of similar CR levels.

I want to see a Swarm template, or at least *some* kind of formalized rules for creating swarms.


What i want to see =

Creatures with more Deflection in there AC.

Creature with more Dex.

More Tiny and Diminutive creatures in size that are near the CR 15 to 23 range that have more Hit points.

More Creature that can only be effected by Slashing weapons to cause them damage.

More creature that can become = Invisible, Blink, Blur, or have Displacement.

More creature that have Fast Heal or Regenerate.

More creature that can Earth Glide, and can do surprise attacks.

More creatures that can for 1 round = Unconscious, Stunned, Staggered, Sickened, Shaken, Prone, Pinned, Petrified (with temp duration), Panicked, Nauseated, Frightened, Fatigued, Fascinated, Entangled, Deafened, Dazzled, Dazed, Made to Cowering, Confused, or Blinded.

More creatures that can Ability Drain (with temp duration), Breath Weapons, Constrict, Curse, Poison, Disease, Paralyze, Distraction (ex), Fear, Frightful Presence, Grab, Pull, Rock Throwing, Stench, Swallow Whole, Trample, or Web.

...........................

Want to see Less creatures with = Undead Traits, Telepathy, Summon, Spell Resistance, Resistance, Rake or Pounce, Incorporeal, Immunity, Gaze, Energy Drain (i repeat Energy Drain!!), Change shape, Blindsight or Blindsence, or bleed (i repeat Bleed!!).

Do not want to have to do the math or keep track of bleed effects or Energy Drain recalculations.


Less creatures that can energy drain, that would be..wait for it..."legendary".


What can i say, am lazy. The less math and rules to keep track of for a special ability the better :)

Maybe is a dumb or crazy idea..

A "boss" or "elite" template (with added inspirational fluff or would suck gameworld-wise) able to improve the action economy of the monster.

Somethin able to transform 1 or more standard action attacks in swift actions. For high level ones, maybe 2 attacks are possible within the same swift action.

This would make better elite opponents, expecially solo bosses. Make it something a PC would never, ever take.

very same, a harder maybe, a less dragon type, maybe a knoledge list (like others).
none of the dynos type (yes, again), more ethereal, maybe a tematic book of planar kind and alike

i love the chupacabras, but its dont look like one, the chupacabras was a gnome, who rules my country maybe a 15 years ago, he took all the money and run away...
but its look great, and the name is in spanish, woooooooow, awesome.

I have an evil gnome ruling my country currently. The behaviour fits with your gnome's, I wonder if they are the same person.


My wishlist would be made up of mostly things that Pathfinder are not allowed to publish such as illithids, umber hulks, and beholders :s

The same could be said about the core book, apg , U magic, U combat, but if they all had the same feats we wouldn't like that too much. The bestiary 1 is on the free prd and pdf. Someone could always look up the feats. And having a 3rd book with the exact same feats would be annoying, I'd like to see more options for my monsters. Like a feat to let borrowing animals make an area into rough terrain or a feats that allowed celestial or fiendish monsters some powers, not just templates but feats that creatures whom already have templates could use or just feats to add to any monster.

Cindy Cimmolestes would make a good familiar for a Dino mage.
A swarm of these would eat a bug swarm.


I'd love to see an intelligent, human shaped low hit die construct that could be advanced with class levels. Not necessarily a player race, but something that only has a couple of hit dice (like a gnoll or lizardfolk) that can be used to make a formidable "automaton warrior" opponent. 3.5 had a really neat clockwork duelist type monster, but it had tons of hit dice and abilities - I'd like to see something like that, but at a lower CR so it can be advanced as appropriate for the campaign's power rating.

3)More Fey, Monstrous humaniods, oozes and Plants of the CR 11+ range.

4)More low level undead and constructs

5)More Templates like half-fey, half-elemental, spirit animal, first world, elemntal touched, shadow touched,etc.

6)An actual Faerie/Fairy race of Fey, different subspecies one of whom is a playable race.

7)More playable races that are not outsiders of any kind except one related to the positive energy plane

8)The Gorinych(green dragon body with 3 wolf heads and whip like tails)

9)The Guivre(a serpent dragon with poisonous breath and poisons wells streams, and lakes that it lives in.)

10)More types of Hags and the traits they give to there changeling offspring.

Wow, I like the way you think! The dragonets, sprites, low-level undead and constructs, playable fey, first world and elemental touched templates, gorinych and guivre all sound awesome.

Half Harpys.

How about Far touched, who have an ancestor who came from the Far Realm. They could have a freaky trait that they hide such as tenticles growing out of their chest.
