Jack, Chain Devil of the South |

I be Jack, it would be best not to tell you my bloody past. i be a hired hand to ensure extra protection to the bloody crew, and blimey, i want my bloody 500 pounds. i have to work my arse off dealing with all these bloody chelexians and i want some bloody rum and some bloody whores. i was bloody drunk when i took this job when i walked back to my bloody room at the bloody rusty keg tavern in the bloody shackles. blimey.
jack boarded in the shackles after finishing a minor mercenary job involving out taking a chelexian spy infiltrating a piracy ring.

Jack, Chain Devil of the South |

how about port peril? and i am not quite going to drop the constant F bomb. british swearwords and minor american ones should be fine. i found that the british ones are more fitting for jack's concept and i promise not to go too far with the permission.
if you see excessive use of blimey, bloody, arse and similar words. it's probably me roleplaying jack. the reason he was exiled from cheliax was not because of the fact he asked queen abrogail for a raise, it's the vulgar wording he used when he asked. the reason for his low charisma is because he is an obnoxious greedy vulgar jerkass who seemingly lacks the ability to feel respect.
i posted my first reply in the IC thread. and i find it quite fitting.
awakening with a hangover within the "tavern" section of the jenniviere's shipwrecked ruins and trying to loot some alcholic beverages. if there is no tavern, than it would be the rum closet instead.

I see no bother as far as the cursing if it's for roleplaying purposes. Port Peril is fine.
I'll leave it up to you if you want to wake in the wreckage of the Jenivere or on the beach with the others. You'll probably end up with the group in fairly short order either way, so it won't matter too much, but it's up to you.
- First, use resources that the GM has access to and has allowed. In my case, I don't have anything listed as a "Complete Equipment" book. I gave you the benefit of the doubt on that one and I checked a few different compendiums, including the PFSRD, but I couldn't find the Gnomish Sight. I also couldn't find a similar item in my 3.5 resources, so I'd have to disallow that.
- Second, make sure you are using the Core resources properly when those are being used. I'm not seeing anything in the Pathfinder Core material that grants Amphibious as an alternate racial ability for Elves or other races. This is sort of linked to the first one. Something else under here relates to carefully reading the traits and feats you choose. Rich Parents doesn't offer a +900 starting gold, it merely raises your starting gold to 900. Spirit of the River is an alternate racial ability for Elves, not a character trait (unless I missed it in another resource).
- Third, and this one goes out to everybody. Always check your math. In general, you seem to have done a good job of that. I'm wondering where the mysterious +1 is coming into your Fortitude save, though.
- Fourth, clean up extraneous or old information. You have a section for spells, and you have Wizard/Bard referenced in granting all Knowledge skills as class skills, but the class is listed as Fighter. Mostly a preference thing, but it tends to keep one from potentially making mistakes later. I've fallen victim to that.
Other than those, anything else I might adjust for Suny is all style/flavor stuff or run-specific. We used a custom ability array for character generation, so you'd need to re-work it in those terms. There was also a semi-custom starting equipment feature. I tend to try to balance out flavor details like Height/Weight. At 6'1", weighing 96 pounds makes one rather emaciated. If you're using the PFSRD to generate random Height/Weight, though, I can see how this mistake could happen. Generally, you roll the variable dice and add the result to the base height. You take that same number and multiply it by the weight modifier. Say a random Elf comes out to 6'1", that means you'd be multiplying the Height mod (9) by 3 (the weight multiplier) and adding it to the base Weight (for a total of 117).
I know it sounds like I'm punching holes in your character, but that isn't my intention. I like the character concept. Your ability scores seem well-allotted for a Fighter focusing on Crossbow combat, and your math on the 20-point-buy is good. Your gear choices were also good for her. I like the character.

Reply to TheMan BehindTheCurtain:
Reply 1: No worries about the X-Bow sight, it can be rendered back down into starting moneys and re=spent.
Reply 2: What you will find is here SRD:Elves, Aquatic(Race) And, as you can see, they aren't 'Amphibious' they are water dependant. Hence the need for the wonderful 'Spirit of the River' trait. It's all covered and legal.....I think...*Crosses Fingers*
Reply 3: Um, it might be coming from either her 'Endurance', a bonus thing from a trait....maybe. Or I have done my usual and screwed up by a point where I shouldn't have....
Reply 4: *Nods* Yah, Copy/Pasting from other incarnations does tend to leave 'Appendixes' of old cast off straggling around the place. =)
*Nods* As for the height/weight thing? That's why I have the (o.O) there. It's kind of weird even to me, who's natural measuring numbers are in Kilograms and Meters.
I am happy to calmly wait and watch. Next opening you have, I shall leap at it with tooth and nail and not be so 'Nice'. (^_~) Which is not to say I am not happy for those that did get to join this time around.

Petronicus Wintrish |

Hello players,
I heard on your IC thread that you have lost a player, Jack, Chain Devil of the South. You are also querying the current players to see if they want to add another player(s). You would also like a cleric.
May I re-submit Suny and myself for your party's consideration? I'd like to give Suny the chance, if she will take it, as well as myself. I am trying to get into Smuggler's Shiv as a Psion (Kineticist). I am currently in two PbP, and believe in role-play, even with psionics from Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed. I can post as many details as needed to help the GM with understanding the powers used. I would need to tweak the character only a little bit to follow TheManBehindTheCurtain's build details.
For getting to the island, I can post Petronicus (Petry for short) landing via leaky rowboat from a passing ship during a storm. Maybe Suny pushed him there. Or whatever TheManBehindTheCurtain prefers. Petry is planned as a secondary fighter and Jack-of-All-Trades in addition to being a cartographer. Not a cleric, sorry, but psions do get some healing ability at 5th level, and I am planning on being a secondary healer as well as a secondary fighter.
If either of us meets with yours and the players' approval, TheManBehindTheCurtain, you will probably need to post a specific message on the Gamer Connection board for Suny to see it.
