Huh, makes sense I guess :D
Anyhoo, speaking of weird planar stuff that I'm confused by, I'm not really sure I get how Hell's "geography" works. So like, asura ranas have large realms in hell that are tiny compared to devils', but were are they? Are they scattered across layers or is there "outskirts"/wilderness of hell were natural predators and asuras live?

The exact location of the Asura Rana realms has not yet been revealed. Maybe in the upcoming Planar Adventures book!

The Long Dark
7 Days to Die
Skyrim Special Edition
Infamous: Second Son
Hellblade
Astonishingly beautiful in the graphcis and sound department. The game play is fun but pretty sparse. It's like a much easier Dark Souls without anything to pick up and no character sheet.

Hi James
Glad to read you again here! Before Gencon you said that you were working on two then unnanounced projects and that the announce will be at Gencon.
I Assume Return of the Rune Lords is one... but I must have miss the other one if it was announced, what were you refering to if you can say?

You won't say which Demi-god type is gonna get statted next, but perhaps you'll say which ones were the most fun to right?
I'm a particular fan of the Horsemen for general kewlness and the Kaiju for indulging in BIG NUMBERS more than the other demi-god types do xD
Note that part of the reason I won't say which demigod gets stats next is that I'm not sure if the next one that I have plans to pay someone to stat up (which I do know but won't say) will be the next one, or if some other developer is gonna get one in before that.
The ones that are the most fun to write are the Great Old Ones.

I am now imagining the Paizo offices in a kind of wacky race to get high CR creatures statted and published. Its all become very exciting.

I feel like I should have guessed this.

Hi James,
In one of the GM threads for Hell's Rebels you mentioned that Nidal was originally going to have a much bigger focus with the Kuthonites at the Shadowsquare. What shape was that going to take originally?
It never really got to that point, really. At first, I'd intended for there to be an entire adventure set in Nidal where the PCs had to do an "Enemy of my enemy" thing and recruit aid from Nidal against Cheliax OR manipulate them all subtle like to get Nidal and Cheliax to fight or bicker as a big political distraction while Ravounel quietly built up its defenses.
The vampire and the umbral dragon are the only elements that really stuck from that very early draft of the plot—it got scrubbed even before I wrote the official outline and replaced with the whole Kintargo contract stuff instead. Which, frankly, I think is more interesting overall.
AKA: Often we abandon ideas because we find out that they're less interesting than the ones we come up with a few minutes later.

Welcome back. Glad to see your hiatus was refreshing.
A Cheliax question: What would be the best way to trick Abrogail and those with her that the yearly sacrifice to Asmodeus was successful?
Interesting. Thank you.
An unrelated question: How does the Hive (from Horror Adventures) travel though space?

Unrevealed. Although my preference would be that they don't on their own. I don't see them as a space traveling race. They get to other planets the way things like moonflowers do—by hitching rides, I guess. Their role on Golarion is really not all that well defined at this point apart from there being some of them involved with the Uskwood.

What's so special about a dinosaur fight? I was on the bus the other week, and it got full. A street person who barely fit on proceeded to state how this is intentional on the part of the transit agency, because the agency wanted him to get mad and start a dinosaur fight in the middle of 19th Avenue.
I'm afraid I don't quite understand.

Which is your favorite class of the starfinder classes? I have a big folder of pathfinder characters sits around 25ish currently.
I'm beginning to feel the draw to start a starfinder folder now.
I have no idea. I've not read the book yet. I played an envoy in an early playtest because it's the most bardy one and I figured I'd like it the most but in that early playtest it had a lot of issues that made me cranky so who knows?

So do you ever have any non-paizo people add to the official Golarion setting, such as new towns, cultures, etc?
What do you think of a PFS character having a background centered on one of the places that isn't well defined and taking advantage of that to add some unusual flavor? I.E. a small kingdom with group of more civilized kobalds with humans and kitsune, that have been out of contact with the wider world until recently?

Quite often. Many of our products are written by freelancers, and we often allow them to create new content as needed for the project—that content is, of course, then developed in-house as needed to fit our vision.
I think that a PFS character like you mention is not a great idea. PFS is, in my opinion, not the best place for a player and GM to explore parts of the setting that aren't detailed yet. Having a new area where kobolds and kitsune and humans all live together is not part of the setting, and isn't something that would be considered canon or even appropriate for a massive multiplayer campaign—that's something that works best in a home game where an individual GM is empowered to make changes to the setting for her table as she sees fit.

Curious.
Are we going to see new additions to the Ascended in Starfinder?
Also on that note, what happened to Cayden Cailean?
I have no idea about the Ascended in Starfinder, and didn't even know something had happened to Cayden Cailean there.
In any event, what happens in Starfinder does not necessarily mean that the thing in question will ever happen in Pathfinder.
In any event, folks, if you have Starfinder questions, I'm probably the WORST person to ask in all of Paizo about the topic. Rob or Owen or Jason Keeley are better folks to ask there.

So something about Verik Vancascerkin, what is appropriate punishment for desertion in Korvosa? That particular crime ain't in Guide to Korvosa, but Korvosa in general has harsh punishments so I'm wondering what is his chances of showing up later since he surrendered and all without fight.

One of the routes of the Path of Aganhei goes via Icestair in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, is there an established, safe route from there onwards into the civilised world? I mean their neighbours are the Worldwound, Irrisen and Belkzen, I imagine a fair few Tian traders get eaten before making it south.

Under the old king it would be imprisonment with a possibility of working the crime off with hard labor, but under the new queen it'd likely be death.

Mr. James Jacobs,
Another Cheliax question: If the yearly sacrifice was performed by a representative of Abrogail and they either messed it up or sabotaged it, thus breaking the compact, would Abrogail immediately know? Would there be any obvious effects to those who weren't at the sacrifice?
She would know very very soon, and while I wasn't involved in the Hell's Vengeance adventure that explored the compact in detail, I suspect there are clauses in the contract to help handle such events as sabotage that would let the queen take action to rectify the failure in some way to get things back on track fast. After all, it's been a thing for about a century, and in that time I'm sure SOMEONE has tried to sabotage it but it obviously didn't work. It's likely it's been tried several times and the ruling monarch has destroyed the saboteur and fixed the damage and redacted the event with propaganda.
