I'm fine, just itchy.

You could organize some sort of revolution with all of your new ant friends that are able to move in since the spider population is too low to keep the ants under control! ;-P

Nope. I love tabletop RPGs. It's my hobby. It's my job. I don't really have much of a reason to consider not playing them, and in fact, if I do... I need to find a new job.

James,

We've seen hints of the Lovecraftian-type old gods in some of the Pathfinder stuff already (such as Candlemere Tower being a center of worship for Yog-Sothoth). Will we ever see an AP with old gods and their cults as the major villains?

Yes.

In the meantime, you might want to check out the upcoming part 4 of Carrion Crown, which is an entire adventure involving the Great Old Ones and their cults. Which will also include a double-sized bestiary of Lovecraftian monsters.

Or perhaps "Carrion Hill," a module that's out already and is basically the Pathfinder version of "The Dunwich Horror."

Who do you think should "play" the disowned Allysin Scarnetti in our Sandpoint campaign, Samantha Krutzfeldt, Allison Scagliotti, or Molly Quinn?

It did not feel like D&D? So would you say they ignored the source material and mainly used the name for the fanbase for the first movie?

Why do you ask Erik Mona for Viking names?

Do you think that Marvels Eddie Brock/Venom/Anti-venom is an interesting character?

So, would you say that "Revenge of the fallen" was the worst movie you've ever seen? And if not, which one was?

When something's lame, and someone asks me my opinion on why it's lame... nope! No Punches Pulled!

It didn't feel like D&D because it wasn't set in an established D&D world, for one thing. For another, the beholder acted like a half-wit mongrel dog. For ANOTHER, the way the gold and red dragons worked ignored the way gold and red dragons work in the game. And so on, and so on.

Erik Mona has a weird ability to create Viking names. He's Norwegian, so I guess that helps.

I don't read enough Marvel to have an opinion on Venom. The visual design of the character is cool, though.

"Revenge of the Fallen" was not in my top 10 worst movies of all time at all. It was certainly the worst of that year, but it doesn't approach the crapitude of movies like the Roland/Emerich version of "Godzilla," blatantly garbage movies like "Baby Geniuses," or blatantly immoral movies like "Cannibal Holocaust" (which uses actual on-screen animal cruelty in an attempt to, successfully I must disappointingly admit, make jungle savages seem more savage).

It's not great, but it's better than "Come Get Wood" or the like.

Haha, fair play, I did ask your opinion, don't hold back mate.

Hmm, yes, I've seen "Cannibal Holocaust", even did a paper about it for school, the fact that the director was arrested because he was suspected of having killed of the protagonists for real in the movie was a bit of yardstick on how bad it was.

Haha, Norweigan eh? Yeah, Denmark and Norway did have more impressive Vikings than my own native Sweden sadly, but we did have a few.

Super hero comics not your thing? Or is it just Marvel?

Do you have a favourite super hero?

Whats/whos the worst band/singer you've ever heard?

How would you rate the Stargate Franchise compared to Star Wars and Star Trek? You know, personal opinion like.

Nope; not a fan of superhero comics. I much prefer the old horror comics like "House of Mystery." My favorite superhero isn't really even a hero—that'd be Death from Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series.

Worst singer/band? Don't remember, since I don't keep track of that stuff. It was probably a country western band/singer though.

Stargate would be below Star Trek (which I quite like) and below Star Wars (to which I'm not a fan, save for everything Bioware's done with the IP.)

Of those, my favorite is the Galactica jump drive. I like the idea that in order to go such vast distances, you need to calculate things and "spin the drive up" and that rushing things causes problems.

The way Mass Effect handles it is pretty cool too. I'm not super familiar with Babylon 5, but my take-away is that the Mass Effect solution is pretty similar to Babylon 5's solution.

Honestly? I kind of hope not. There'll be a lot of options for divine-themed characters as it stands in Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic already (on top of the Advanced Player's Guide). I'd rather see us start exploring NEW types of rulebooks next year rather than, basically, keep churning out what effectively amounts to sequels of the Advanced Player's Guide.

I would give that player the APG and have him do that work for himself. Or perhaps the upcoming Ultimate Magic.

Barring an option from there, I'd suggest instead that player play a witch or a sorcerer or a bard or a wizard or a cleric and just take the Brew Potion feat.

And I would wonder WHY he didn't like the mutagen, because that stuff is cool!

Honestly, how is that even debatable? Dresden, all the way.

Would you see value in creating a message board for learning different pieces of the game? A Pathfinder Academy, a place where weekly topics are discussed and if so how would it be started? Topics could include GM advice, combat, magic use and spell creation etc. I understand I could just post a thread but I was thinking something separate similar to the Ultimate Magic.

Thanks

Not until we figure out what to do with lasers and robots.

And at that point, we'd probably have a bunch of new classes anyway, since we'd pretty much be doing a different game, be it a steampunk game or a futuristic game or whatever.

Which could be cool! We're just not quite ready to start going so niche with our products.

Two reasons.

One, it doesn't really do you all that much good—after all, you still have to come back to the site to get the PDF when it's released, and your total transactional effort would involve at least the same number of clicks (though they'd be split up into two different periods).

And two, while we ship preordered books before the retail release date, only subscribers get access to the PDF before that date. (So if you preordered the hardcopy and the PDF at the same time, your orders would actually be processed a couple of weeks apart, and I think a lot of folks would find that confusing.)

Hat's off to YOU Mr. Jacobs!

One of the ways I stay abreast of Pathfinder/Paizo goings-on is to just click on your user name and look at all the threads that you have recently replied to. I have found that it is a pretty good way to keep up on 'official' commentary and state of the game.

Then, today for the first time, I REALLY noticed something. You spend a tremendous amount of time reading and replying to posts on the Message Boards.

That is phenomenal. It really is. To be in the industry you are, in the position you are in, I can only imagine (thankfully) what it is like for you.

Messageboards and dealing with some of the more vociferous complaints takes a very special type of character strength; something that I can honestly say I could never do. I have seen other guys in our industry (I'm painting with broad strokes here) get incredibly turned off by dealing with their company message boards. I have even seen those interactions ultimately hurt the business itself.

I am NOT saying that the Paizo boards are full of trolls - far from it; but MAN, you guys and gals at Paizo REALLY set a nice precedent knowwhutI'msayin'?

So yeah, you're awesome. Well done sir.

Why doesn't the gunslinger have Use Magic Device as a class skill? How is she supposed to use wand rifles without it?

not talking play test stuff, but is the new gunslinger one step closer to "Unspeakable Futures"?

Samurai Seven is an a great movie that every one should watch, just for it influential on westerns, same with Yojimbo, not a question but still great movie.

I did indeed give Jason and the designers a copy of my version of the gunslinger from "Unspeakable Futures" for them to mine ideas and look through. I don't think they really kept much of it, but I haven't looked in depth at it yet...

The internet's had 2 decades to shape up. It's as nice as it's gonna get.

I did see Sukiyaki Western Djanko. I didn't really like it much... a bit TOO weird for my tastes. Takahashi Mikee's better when he's more grounded in reality. My favorite movie of his is "Audition."

If you liked "Seven Samurai" (Recently saw it) what did you think of the Western version, "The magnificient seven"?

Any other Kurosawa movies you'd reccomened?

Would you say on average that Clint Eastwood is a good actor?

Comedy is, in my opinion, the TOUGHEST genre to write for an RPG. Very few folks can do it. Richard Pett comes to mind.
