Yes.

Sorshen is the only one of the runelords who doesn't really have a direct analogue from my homebrew. I almost named her "Shensen" after my favorite character, but I realized I wanted to hold off on that and actually put that character in Golarion some day, so I changed the name a bit, perhaps inspired some by the old movie "Willow" and the character of Sorsha in there.
Highly more interesting...

Good man. We can be friends.
And now for something completely different. Do you think Rending Claws would count as a "rend special attack" to qualify you for Rending Fury? How would you rule on that for one of your games?
Rending Fury is in Ultimate Combat, so it seems like it should be a PC feat. But otherwise, I don't know how else you'd qualify as having a natural weapon rend special attack.

What do you mean "corrupted?" I wouldn't say the runelords in Golarion are corrupted either.
And alas... I'm not ready to reveal more about Cyrus at this point.
My understanding of the Runelords is they were based of Virtues, but they turned into lords of Sin, and in your home world, they were still benevolent rulers. Maybe corrupted wasn't the best word.
And do you possibly have grander plans for Cyrus in Golarion...?

Nope. Rend is really kinda powerful, and it's not really suited in my opinion to PCs.

Ah; yeah, corrupted isn't the right word. That word has connotations of being transformed spiritual and physically by evil magic or the like in my mind. In my home game, the necromancers of the Impyrium were bad from the start.
I don't have plans for Cyrus in Golarion yet. I just don't want to "sell" all of my homebrew's stuff to Paizo until I'm sure I don't want to retain 100% ownership over it for the rest of my life.

Deities, yes. Demigods, depends on a case by case basis.
Deities don't have stat blocks and can pretty much do anything they want as a result.
Demigods have stat blocks and can only do what those stat blocks allow them to do.

Yeah, Scepter of the Underworld was the first adventures I actually remember going through. What stuck out in my mind was the ending when Alaznist threw back his hood and revealed he was a drow elf. Ewww I was so mad. lol

And it might also amuse you to know that your avatar is from an illustration of the demon lord Lascer, who was also one I made up for my homebrew but that I more or less sold to Wizards of the Coast in the adventure "The Razing of Redshore."

That's one of several horrific lasting wounds that Lascer's body bears after Obox-ob remade him into a demon lord.

Speaking of ghostwriter Lovecraft S. T. Joshi put out a two part collection of his ghostwritings, The Crawling Chaos and Others and The Medusa's Coil and Others. They're on Amazon.
OMG
I just got my copies of these two books today, and looking through them... turns out there are some revisions I didn't know existed! AKA: I now own some Lovecraft stories I have NEVER READ!
AKA: Rysky is my new favorite person, and this thread has forever justified its presence in the internets to me.

Hi JJ,
Been looking for an answer in an official capacity ALL NIGHT and feel like my head is going to burst via some horrifying cleric implosion scene.
Do sneak attack dice from multiple classes stack? For example... Does a Rogue 1, Magus 6, Master Spy 1 have 2d6 sneak attack, or do the sneak attack LEVELS stack, therefor granting 1d6 sneak attack as per a rogue of 2nd level?
I have always assumed that you cannot take Vivisectionist Alchemist 1, Rogue 1 and gain 2d6 Sneak attack. Is that true?
Thanks in advance for your dedication to this thread! You've saved hundreds of us!

Yes. Sneak attack dice pretty much always stack. Even when it's from a monster ability like derros or babaus have. We generally try to avoid building classes that allow you to double dip and gain more sneak attack dice than a single classed rogue would give you but we may have screwed a few of those up.

James,
just to check, will Inner Sea Gods include stats for the heralds of all 20 main deities, or at least the heralds that were only statted for 3.5?
Stats for all 20 heralds and 20 new less powerful minions will be included.
If that pleases you, thank me, since I actually had to kind of fight hard to get the heralds in there at all.

So how did the Necromancers of the Impyrium become the Runelords?
Were they already based off Sin, or was that a new addition when they were converted?
Check out this blog post: Raising The Runelords or, "How To Recover From a TPK and Make It Look Like You Planned It All Along".
Warning: Spoilers ahoy for RotRL. But the first two paragraphs are fairly safe.

Three questions for you:
I have to admit I find myself at a bit of a loss as to what kind of deity a PC could become upon taking the Test of the Starstone or doing something equally mythic. It seems like all the available concepts and ideas a deity could represent are already filled. How does a PC deal with this? How could you become a deity of justice if Iomedae already fills that position? Or of strategy when that's Torag's gig?
And on an unrelated note, I have a friend I'm seeking advice for. We're going to be playing in Curse of the Crimson Throne and he wants to play something unique, something different than the rogues he's used to playing. I'm playing a warrior priest of Sarenrae. Any suggestions I can pass along to him to help him create a character uniquely Korvosan?
And speaking of warrior priests, what would separate a LG warrior priest type from an actual paladin? I assume the average LG cleric of a deity, even if said deity isn't LG, would behave similarly to the paladin's code for that deity anyway. If you're divinely empowered by your god, and you're more comfortable with a sword in hand than a crosier, what's to stop you from calling yourself a paladin even though you're not a paladin by class?

Albatoonoe |

How would you run a game/campaign where there were no/very rare opportunities for safe places and mercantile?
I'm creating a game based on the Heretic/Hexen game series, which involves fighting through dimensions all completely occupied and controlled by the villains, The Serpent Riders. This would allow no opportunities to sell equipment or even use gold at all.

There are absolutely religious wizards, just as there are religious scientists.
More of a comment than a question but you may be interested in Byakuren Hijiri.
In short, she changed from true neutral to neutral good when she became immortal. Her long-term goal is peace between humans and youkai, though she’d like the latter to be less rowdy. She’s both a high priestess of a Mahayana temple and a transmuter powerful enough to be a runelord.
Now a question: She an interesting character to you?

And now I'm going to have to go read the entire Demonomicon of Iggwilv again. There'll be some incoming questions coming from that end soon. Those things almost singlehandedly got me into Planescape, along with Todd's Storyhour, so thank you!
Did you have any plans for the loumara demons in 3.5 that never came to fruition because of the edition change?
