Thankfully you are a zombie and not a vampire. Then you would burst into flames . . . or sparkle. I'm not sure what is worse.

How are us wee Pseudodragons a CR1 creature?

While we are braver than a rottweiler and more flash than a bard with a gold tooth, I'm not sure we are REALLY on par with say, three orcs, barely one for that matter.

I used to live in California. I was born there. I went to college at UC Davis, and so I am familiar with the sun. I've been to San Diego as well, although never for long, and always because I was going to somewhere on the other side.

My solution: Move to Washington. If that's too far, move to Northern California; same weather but less people than Seattle, basically.

The proteans were intended to be a VERY primeval race; among the FIRST intelligent races to appear in the multiverse. As such, I wanted them to have a very primeval look... AKA prehistoric. So they all got heads inspired by prehistoric sea creatures, like tylosaurus and mosasaurus and the like... or like crocodiles. Then they got long snaky bodies because snakes are scary. Then I gave those bits of starting stuff over to Todd Stewart and he pretty much did the rest.

The two primary inspirations for Numeria are "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" and "Thundarr the Barbarian," with a healthy mix of the sword and planet stories from the pulp era.

Well, fair enough about the stinger.

I thought we may have been (idavertently) bumped up because of our killer good looks and overwhelming style (which I'd grudgingly accept as a valid reason)

She is saying something, I cant make it out, her lips are moving, it is as if her voice is being stolen by the gloomy amorphous shadows that surround her, cling to her, and stroke her like a demented pet.

Video Games have been around for three decades, and we still need more of them.

Movies have been around for about 100 years, and we still need more of them.
Stories have been around for thousands of years, and we still need more of them.

As long as folks are still gaming, we can still use Adventure Paths, in other words.

OH! You're making a "end of the world in 2012" joke! Ever since Roland Emerich made that terrible movie last year (two years too early, too!), I've kinda lost interest in 2012 end of the world stuff. We were GOING to do a "Mayans cross the Arcadian Ocean to attack Garund" adventure path in the later half of 2012 at one point, but we decided to scrap that idea when it became apparent a few years ago that there was going to be a LOT of 2012-related stuff coming up and once 2012 passes without incident it'll look silly in retrospect. Kind of like the Y2K thing.

That said... there's only 776 days, 16 hours, 22 minutes, and10 seconds left...

Lovecraftian supplement would be the easiest to get greenlit, I suspect, and would probably make the most money to boot (which is why it would be the easiest to get greenlit).

There'll be a HUGE mythos bestiary in Pathfinder #46.

When they do the Paizo movie, who will play Tom Rex?

Are you going for gritty realism and hiring the T-Rex from the Jurassic Park movies? (I liked that T -Rex's versatility, he could play bad ass, as in the first one, but had a moment of sentimentality in the second one, or third -the one where it makes it to the mainland).

Or are we going to see more comedy capers style of things and go with the T-Rex from Brenden Frasers Journey to the centre of the Earth? (He hasn't got a huge body of work behind him, but his comedic timing is spot on. Pity he didn't have much script to work with).

ulgulanoth wrote:

Because that's it's bad save and has barely any modifier due to its Wisdom. I would say that its low Will save is one of its major weaknesses... if it weren't for the fact that it's immune to all mind-affecting effects so there's not a lot of Will saves it'll have to make anyway. Does mean glitterdust's pretty good against it, although it still has scent so blindness isn't a perfect tactic...

So I was rereading the the Rise of the Runelords Players Guide, prepping for running the campaign for possibly the fourth time. And I noticed references to Sandpoint having a museum that qualified it as something of a important local feature, along with the theater and the Old Light. But I can't seem to find any reference to it in the Sandpoint article in the back of Burnt Offerings. What gives?

Any insights on the characterization Of Titus Scarnetti? or any other of the Sandpoint luminaries?

Also, I think Ive been quietly internet stocking you for a few years, ever since Paizo wowed me with Shackled City, looking for small spoilers or interesting insights into how to up my game, or just neat details about Golarion. When I'm really bored and insomnia ridden, I occasionally read your livejournal. Am I giant creep?

The "museum" mentioned is in fact the Turandarok Academy; it's upper floor is the museum. The place just isn't CALLED a museum.

Titus Scarnetti is the most obvious "bad guy noble" in town; he's meant to be something of a red herring. Play him up as a super intolerant ass and a jerk to distract the PCs from the fact that the real cause of the problem is something else. He makes a great foil for any PC that wants to get in good with the nobility, in any event. As for the other luminaries... play up Ameiko as a good ally and trustworthy friend. In fact, you should strive to make a LOT of the other NPCs in town friends for the PCs; the majority of folks living in Sandpoint should be people that the players like.

Internet Stocking? As in making sure the internet is full of James Jacobses? Creepy.

If you meant Internet Stalking, that's probably less creepy. And that DOES mean I should post to that livejournal more often... it's kind of devolved into a place for me to track the movies I've seen lately. I'll be going to see "The Girl who Played with Fire" this afternoon in about an hour, so that'll at least give me something to write there, and thus something for you to check out next time you're bored! :-)

Any tips on playing multiple NPCs in the same scene?

In my Kingmaker game players often entertain multiple NPCs and it can be difficult to jump from character to character.

::is serious advice::

The voices aren't a problem (I'm a huge fan of Mel Blanc so I do lots of voices). The problem is avoiding that sense of schizophrenia when NPCs disagree with each other.

I have done this quite a few times. My trick is when speaking in a particular npc's "voice" I have a specific hand gesture associated with that npc. Hand on the hip, Holding forth a drinking mug, holding a staff, holding out a sword, ect..... This allows for ease of the players to know exactly who is speaking when. If you are good with voices, I am not, that helps as well.

If I have an interaction with lots of NPC's, I make cutouts of their images and stick them on paddle pop sticks. Instant puppet. Still looks funny when they interact with each other, but helps the players work out who is who.

Wait....this is not an ask Wrath thread. Please ignore the above.

You can practice your voice acting; switching voices between NPCs helps to let players know when you're different characters. You can even throw body language into the role; stand up and pace when you're playing a military commander, slouch and sob if you're playing a victim, etc.

Another option is to associate pictures with all the major NPCs. Our Face Cards work well here. Simply make sure that the picture of the NPC who is speaking is on display, then put it down when that NPC is done talking and display the other when another pipes in.
